BMW unlimited iced oil changes it's a big no, no. BMW rips you of with $180.00 oil change, if you buy the "So called Unlimited oil changes". BMW manufacture recommends changing oil every year so you get only 3 oil changes in a period of 3 years. I guess BMW engineers forgot about "oil oxidation" that can deteriorate engines. I found this review interesting since I am trying to buy a c ar like yours.

I like the gloss black. You saw it when you chose it. Don’t rubbish the car because you have taken a dislike to it. Piano black is classy. I have had my car for two years and there are no scratches on it.

That exhaust drone is unbearable. You can run a high flow cat and have no drone and keep the same power.

Those engines were very good idea at the time. They were capable of some impressive mpg even to this day. Man I miss 80s German engineering. The Holy Trinity - Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz made some truly amazing cars.

I have a '23 AWD Pro S and I totally agree with most of your HATE''s. My #1 is that selecting the profile each and every time. VW use the key fob as YOUR profile as you approach the car like other manufacturers do. My #2 is not being able to lock rom the app, very annoying. They should've had an option to lock itself as you walk away. My #3 are the non-backlit sliders. One of the dumbest decisions VW. I can deal with the piano black. It's definitely not liked but it isn't a functional thing. Otherwise it's a good car. No issues. But they haven't had a software update, at least for my model, since I've owned it for 2yrs.

Almost all the problems you describe have been fixed starting with the 2023 models It is unfortunate that you are stuck with the older model ! Maybe there is some way to trade it for a newer model? I have a 2023 version with newer software, and I haven't seen any real problems The 2024 model has a completely new software design, and it is getting good reviews. My infotainment system doesn't require a login. And after many months, my gloss black trim doesn't have any scratches. I clean it with a damp cloth and it looks beautiful. Also, one important thing the VW has that Tesla lacks is the ability to connect to Google's software. Tesla's navigation software isn't as good as Google's. Also, I have never had any issues with ulocking doors. You can unlock all the doors with the key fob. The one criticism that I think is actually valid is that there are only 2 window switches. But it is *very* minor problem. Also, why would you want to change drive mode when you aren't intending to drive? And I don't see any reason why you need to turn the steering wheel when you aren't going to drive. You don't have to "put the car fully into gear" to turn the steering wheel. You just have to put your feet on the brake pedal, which is a reasonable thing to do. Also, my 2023 ID4 doesn't have touch-sensitive buttons like you have on your car. And my 2023 ID4 has never had any problems with car-play cutting out.

"As long as you just maintain the car" says it all. Most complaints about reliability stem from someone purchasing a BMW that wasn't maintained by the previous owner. People buy them and then seem to think they don't even have to change the oil. Cheap oil, cheap gas, cheap tires, and cheap replacement parts are also causes of reliability issues. BMW is a performance brand first and foremost, no cheaping out on the parts that matter. 1997 e36 328i 153k miles 2008 e83 X3 128k miles 2015 f10 528i 228k miles
