@@pregifted1591 that’s the sidecar, that’s where all of the dev builds are loaded and the hdd is located, it plugs into multiple points on the motherboard and acts as a dvd emulator

unfortunately since tranzit is a launch map it's so unlikely we'll find a true pre-alpha of the map, at least one that has even half of what they had planned for it. we'd probably need a build dated in 2011 or at least early 2012 if we wanted pre-alpha tranzit stuff

It had Black Ops 1, Black Ops 2, and apparently there’s a hidden Ghosts one, just couldn’t get to it yet

@ hmm I see, it would be interesting to see an earlier version of the first DLC map Nightfall. The other builds do not conain any DLC stuff sadly. Crazy to think that they put Extincion in like 6 months together.

I know this is a Test Kit, and this is also a super reliable model as it is a Jasper motherboard with a fixed GPU so it has a very low chance of red ring due to GPU failure

@@Nascar1243 Yes jaspers are Very reliable but the slims are just more reliable Probably because of the later manufacture date or the new gpu and cpu is better

@ they are both equally reliable, plus if I got a slim model I wouldn’t have found the dev builds

@@susbaconhairmani already have, we are waiting on a Linux dumped copy of the HDD to upload rn, there were some bad sectors on the HDD and I was able to get it down to 20kb

Yes it was indeed a test kit, I have dumped the hdd but it had bad sectors so I’m working to get as much off as possible with what I’ve got

@ still a really cool find. I saw the second video with the bad sectors. Shame that’s the case but take what is given, you know how it goes.

@ already working on it, dumped it the first time but it had 3 bad sectors, attempting to use Linux to get a better dump

That could be an actual dead psu, but it’s hard to say without having the console in front of me

@Nascar1243 I have got 3 healthy psu for the PS3 slim they for both cech 2500 and 2000 I only believe one of them is faulty I've already checked the out the smd voltage regulators on the back of it turns out that the regulators towards the main power of the motherboard went out. After checking out the voltage the came out as 0 volts some UA-camr suggestions that changing out would probably do the trick and go back test out the ic control management chip as well not sure if the syncom chip is bad as the no long turns on anymore it gave out 4 months ago without warning

@Nascar1243 but it did have 5v thing from the power supply coming out there was also the 12v missing from for it's standby mode plus it had a bunch of faulty smd resistors with codes on them the blank ones I'm not sure wat they would at normally with ohmd

@ unfortunately we don’t have a schematic for the slim models so there is no way of knowing for sure, it could be possible the syscon is dead but it’s also unlikely, another culprit for dead 5v that’s also unlikely on the 20xx series is a shorted out wifi/bt module. I would also recommend double checking the power eject board and the ribbon cable for it to make sure they both work

i did the led diag mode, and the syscon error code is 3034, based off the green and red lights, but now how do i turn the led diag mode off?

@ just unplug the console and plug it back in, 3034 isn’t going to be easily fixable, sounds like you have a bga defect

@@MotSure there unfortunately isn’t a lot of info for it but it seems to coorelate with cpu or GPU bga defect, similar to a 3034.

@@dionislacaj3817 it shouldn’t take long at all, at least not half a minute, if you are using an OG hdd that could be why you are having issues with it because it should not take that long to recognize even on a nonBC model. From startup to safe mode on a nonBC was like around 10 seconds so if you are saying it takes 30 seconds then your hdd could very well be on its way out.

@Nascar1243 the non bc model i have is actually more reliable then the 60 gb cechc04 model , my only issue is that on the non bc model aka the silver trim model i have launching safe mode takes only 2 secs after the 2 beeps of the second round of turning it om to launch it, but on the bc model the cechc04, i had some issues with the bluray drive and didnt know that the ps3 does a hardware check on an update, it got stuck on 93 percent and gave me the error code 8002f14e, which meant that the blurady drive had failed or is not present, and every single time i tried to boot it into safe mode to download the fw without the bluray drive it kept on updating with the fw i gave it before, so it was an endless loop of failing, and i decided to take matters in my own hands and format the drive using my known good silver trim model, that one had no boot delays on safe mode, after i formated the drive i inserted it back into the cechc04, and thats when it started acting weird, just like your cecha01 where you swapped the hdd, it took a while before it would turn on, and when i gave it the option to update, using the no bd fw it checked with no end, i left for about 5 mins and it didnt get anywhere, and i got mad and unplugged it, and im asking you about how long did your cecha01 take before it recognized that a hdd was present, as the symptoms you had were exaclty the same as mine, thats why i am asking you

@ now I see what you are saying, I’d have to plug one in and check since most of mine are either in storage or disassembled for a different project but iirc it didn’t take that long to get into safe mode and recognize an HDD, shouldn’t take 30 seconds to recognize, should only take 10-20 seconds at most.

​​@@Nascar1243it was close to 25 seconds and when i select system update and press start and select at the same time as it gives on screen, it just says checking please wait, the most time i left it was 5 mins before i got furious as i tried like 20 times to get it to work but i think its first checking if a hdd is present then checks the usb ports to see if any plugged in usbs have an update file, is that it and how long did it take before the a01 you repaired found the hdd, and also if you have power button issues after a dissembling process, a trick i use commonly is to raise the contact on the power board slightly, not too much but just enough so that it touches the metal part on the upper casing

@@dionislacaj3817 I think what’s going on is you might have a hardware fault, if you had 8002F14E then it isn’t necessarily always on the BD Drive, it can be something small on the motherboard itself like a resistor or cap. So you could still have an issue with the console itself and that’s why it’s stuck right now. The fact it takes that long tells me something else is going on as well. Especially since you said it formatted fine on your nonBC model

@@JuanGSR if you have webman on it and 68c max then I personally would say it should last a long time, don’t be afraid to use it. You did pay for it after all.

@@gutoczar6144 if I had a ps3 plugged in and nearby I’d guide you but if you have webMAN installed and push L3 and R3 it should bring up a menu in the top left in the xmb, there you should see something like 500/650
