Oh we missed out on seeing seals when we went there. What a stunning place whalers way is tho
Whalers way was great ! We were very lucky to see the seals 😊
we spent 5 days for our crossing, loved it
If we had some more time we definitely wouldn’t have gone a bit slower 😊
Another great place to see seals up close is Cape Banks Lighthouse near Carpenter Rocks, you can drive on to the beach and see them laying around on their island - fair warning they are a bit smelly haha! There is also a small campground at the lighthouse too
Good to know !! We went at the start of the year but didn’t see any 😭…. It was very warm so not sure if that had something to do with it. Thanks for watching 😊
How windy was Whyalla . Nice to meet you 🍻🍺🍻🫣
It was windy !! Was great to meet you as well 👍
When heading south if you stop by goolwa ( on the edge of the coorong) go to the barrages , you'll be able to leave Archie in the car & walk a short distance on to a little jetty & look down & see heaps of seals & wont cost a cent!
Oh damn, we didn’t go that way, we went straight across to Vic. Would have been cool to see more seals.
@chasinganadventure I'm sure they will still be there when & if you pass by again, they've been there for about 20 years now
Don’t you love that foreshore caravan park at Whyalla. We we’re there last Xmas and had winds 45 km gusting to 60 km winds Xmas day and Boxing Day.Missed you guys at Port Broughton but had a quick gday at Edithburg before while leaving when you were heading up the middle.Keep up the good work love your episodes only just subscribed as get complacent as watch nearly everyone on Jenny’s subscriptions.Had the Nova Caravan and Landcruiser 200 series but in a Wonderland caravan now.Currently at Portland on the Fleurieu Peninsula heading west.Tight lines 🦐🐟🦈🎣👍
Oh my goodness! The wind is insane! Thanks for subscribing. Enjoy your time on the Fleurieu, great spot!
Been subscribed for over 12 months and now you have both of us 🦐🐟🦈🎣👌
Great episode guys and a very big happy birthday hope you enjoy your special day and your 🎁🎁🎁all the best and travel safely 🤙❤️❤️
Thank you so much!
😊👌
😃
I think you need to lighten your load and buy a ranger 😂
We owned 2 rangers before hand, we love the space in our 62 though haha
Um, you don't put your hands into the chocolate. That's what the spoon is for!
You got me there, what can I say, chocolate is a weakness!
Hi Guy's We met you at Lake Argyle I drive a stock standard y62 towing a 3.5 ton van and averaged 22.4l/100 going across the Nullarbor with no head wind averaged 95k/h so yours was not bad considering your extra windage.
That’s pretty good going with a 3.5 ton van, thanks for sharing. We remember you guys, I hope you are travelling well 😊
Your happy with 34 litres per 100 kms! How rich are you?
Depends on how you measure rich 🤑
Absolutely shocked at that fuel usage/expense and its just to go from a to b....
Our set up isn’t for everybody but we love it 😊
Guess that's the secret you all love it. Like your vids BTW. Cheers
Thanks Glen, Glad you enjoy them 😊
Hey guys! Just came across this vid! shame about how you felt night driving, weve done it a few times, but our night driving was amazing we saw a meteor shower and it was incredible! Also did you know theres caves to explore on the Nullarbor! Next time check out Murrawijinie and Cocklebiddy caves :) Thanks for the vid :) lovely to see another travel fam out there enjoying it ❤
Thanks for watching guys ! Yeah unfortunately our experience wasn’t great though, we were strapped for time to go across slowly but it was great anyway.
@@chasinganadventure Yeah weve done it one day also haha stayed near eucla on the campsites that had fenced safety haha
As a ex east west runner i wouldn't travel that road after dark Raj is out of control out the such a insult the way you said east West cowboys
Your words correctly explain our experience with certain drivers, no offence to people who have done it for many years. Using the saying east west cowboy was the best way to explain my thought if you know what I mean. I come from a trucking family and have the utmost respect for all drivers 👍
Love your videos. We travel with a Dmax and off-road 18 foot off road van. GCM of 6500kg. Fuel 16.4lts per 100km. We travelled mostly around 90km. Had some side wind but very little head wind.
Thanks for watching ! Sounds like a great set up you have, especially with that fuel usage!
Loved the video 😀😀 I think the reason why trucks were turning on their high beams was cause If you never travelled at night time you may have never needed to adjust your head lights cause each and every time your driving at night your not towing something heavy and there for never needed to adjust your lights. Your caravan will be making the back of the car squat and truck drivers might just be at the right height for them to get it right in their eyes. 🤔🙂🙂
Yeah I dunno, we have never had the problem before as the car is level. There is lots less experienced drivers doing that run now east to west, glad we got off the road though.
Worst we did crossing with a V6 Everest.. 19.4 , no boat.
Those 3.2 engines are great we owned a few rangers before we had our Patrol.
Hey guys we just finished our trip from WA back to Vic. We are a 1500 Ram towing 24” van 4t. We don’t have a canopy or boat and averaged 24ltrs per 100. We travel at 100ks. Safe travels.
Can’t complain with that fuel usage, the boat and bigger tyres have been our killer. We aren’t complaining we love our set up 👍
Love your videos mate and thanks for the info we have the same set up y62 and a 22.9 vacationer rr and heading to. WA in December have enjoyed your video
Thanks for watching ! I hope you enjoy both the Y62 and Vacationer love ours, hopefully your Nullarbor stats are better then ours 😂
Great Vid... One Day....
One day!
Well done you, for conquering Frenchman's Peak. We climbed it in March. Phillip made it all the way to the top. I chickened out 3 quarters of the way up. All the beaches around Lucky Bay are gorgeous. Thank you for another great video.
Frenchman’s Peak is a tough one, I really didn’t think I would make it either. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Love the hike. Cant wait to do it one day. And Lucky Bay so beautiful.
Lucky Bay is amazing! Hopefully you can get there sometime soon to hike that mountain!
Love the drone music
Thank you!
It is simply a rip off!
It sure is
Paislee (sorry if i have spelt it wrong) is so grown up for her age! Such a delight! Good job parents!
Yes! That’s the correct spelling! Not many people get it right. Yes, She is very grown up, might be an only child thing? Drives us crazy sometimes though 😂
We might pass you, we're at penong at moment.
Definitely won’t pass us, Sam. We are in Victoria now 😂 Our videos are delayed in time.
@chasinganadventure oh lol
Anyone else get the muppet tune in their head when they heard phenomenal?
I’m not very familiar with the muppets, one I must have missed in my childhood 😂
Another great vid guys, good job Mel to getting to the top of the mountain. 👍👍🍺🍺
Thanks for watching! That climb was intense
Amazing video i loved it all. Them trees are MASSIVE!!! That hill climb has great views too But that beach OMG!!! That looks amazing we live in such a amazing country 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
We totally agree! Lucky Bay was a highlight. Thanks for watching
Yep defently a hard shell taco girl. And I think it’s really wierd that people ask about your private stuff are they perverts or something 😂😂😂.
It’s seems to be a lot of peoples top concern for living in a van 😂
great vid,,,,, one day...
One day.
This content demonstrates the type of idiots with all the gear and no idea that you will come across when you are travelling Australia, Thanks for not letting your tyres down and tearing up the access with your right foot, just so you can make some noise with your Y62 for UA-cam, making the track more difficult for the next person who may not have the same gear. Send entitled much? Inconsiderate much? I say yes. You can do better by not being lazy and just let some air out of your tyres and stop tearing up the access.
Hey guys luv your vidow's but lm 64 , Some times. cant here a word your saying .my speakers are at max, .luv your videos real sad for me xx
We are sorry to hear that. I know this video specifically had a bit of wind noise which may be the problem.
Definitely Albany with 1 L. So said AL rather than ALL. There is the ANZAC centre, memorial at one end and the lookout with big guns at the opposite end. Great spot to visit. Australian troops and ships left for WW2 from there. It was a staging post for the east coast ships to meet the WA ships before leaving. Also just out of Albany in the Porongurups, is Castle Rock. Google it, wonderful skywalk around the rock. Pretty sure it is in a national park but, if you can, checkmit out.
It’s Albany not Albany
Gotcha 😂😂😜
Ensure you get to bright for the alpine brewery and heaps to see in area
Bright is right up on the list, if you have any other recommendations that would be great !
@@chasinganadventure depends how long you are in Victoria and more importantly when re Xmas / school holidays
We will be in the high country in about 3 weeks.
Sunshine Coast Hinterland is beautiful with lush vegetation. One of my favourite places to camp in the Hinterland is Booloumba Creek. Crystal clear water and rainforest. need a high clearance 4x4 as there's a couple of river crossings. Rocky bottom. You'd be fine. National Park so, sorry, no dogs. 🙁 Yeah, Albany - it's Al-bunny not Awl-bunny. 😆
Booloumba creek is a fantastic spot ! We know the spot very well. I’ll never pronounce it wrong again, thanks 😂
Wow my aunt & uncle & cousins live in malany , I haven't been up there as yet to visit their new place. They are originally from Adelaide & moved from Darwin to Malaney a few years back now. Awesome playground for kids & some great history too.
We use to live about 15 minutes from Maleny, we loved it there 😍
Loved the video. That water fall / River looks amazing better yet I don't have to feel the cold or get wet. 😅😅
It was worth getting cold and wet 😂
Will miss your chats 😢
We still chat every Tuesday on our regular videos 😆
@@chasinganadventure That's a different kind of chat 😂
There’s a reason they invented the soft taco….
Soft tacos are good but hard shell is better!
I didn’t comment this! I’m hard all the way
Have loved the chats guys! OMG, I got chills when Mel said all that stuff about flying and travelling. I am exactly the same! I am trying not to let it limit me and we are off on my first big flight to NZ in a few weeks but have to get on a smaller plane to go between North & South islands. I am shitting myself!! Will have to talk myself into doing it.
NZ is the perfect initiation for big flights, You will be fine ❤️… Enjoy your holiday !
100% second hand
Agreed !
Eggplant
Can’t take you anywhere 😂
You can go to therapy for that my friend wouldn’t fly at all now she does , she learnt how to deal with anxiety maybe one day in the future
That sounds great, we might have to have a look at that 😊
Y62's are amazing car's I've got one my self I use as a daily and when I'm feeling it I just bury my right foot and just hear it get angry. The Paynful family just got a Y62 also after they got rid of their truck and they love them too 😁😁 My Sunday car though is the black Holden you see on my pitcher that's got a 6.2L supercharged V8 and that drinks fuel like there is no tomorrow. 😂
Yeah we love our Y62, Jade and Josh just got there car when we stayed at there place. We wouldn’t own any other car, Tristan has an old XC Falcon at home which uses all out fuel haha
Hard shell ❤
100%!!
Hi guys we love your have a chat episodes, did you buy the y62 for the trip and if you didn't have the boat on the roof would you have needed the gvm upgrade, we are looking at upgrading from our px2 ranger to a patrol warrior.
Thanks for watching guys ! We purchased the Patrol to be our tow rig, we just hadn’t decided to do a trip around Aus then 😂… We were always going to need a bigger GVM, we could have went a smaller version GVM but went with the biggest one available to ensure we were okay with what ever we planned later on. Something you need to look into with the Warrior patrol is that you can’t get a GVM upgrade done on them as they are already upgraded by a SSM. Don’t quote me on it but make sure you do some research on that before purchasing 😊
@@chasinganadventure thanks heaps I really appreciate it.
Great Vid... One Day....
We hope you get there one day!
