SS14 is best enjoyed by NOT playing wizden or having ANYTHING to do with wizden whatsoever outside of being forced to use their hub (RMC, delta-v, frontier and goob moving to SSMV when?). It's pretty sad how much power they've given themselves, and how openly they've abused it in regard to other servers. Your discord has someone we don't like? Here's a strike even though you immediately removed them. Also we don't like the person running this other server, so get banned. We'll just make up some heinous accusations about them later. Here’s the dilemma I have with leaving 14 and Wizden though. I have sunk lots of time into playing on Wizden servers, I’ve made friends with other regulars - in particular there is a very tight knit community on Salamander, the regulars all know eachother and are quite accustomed to roleplaying together. So no matter what I do to try to fulfill my spess game itch - try other servers, go to 13, etc.. there’s the added worry that I’ll lose my sense of community and belonging that I get in Mander. Worsening things is that things are different in other servers and I’m not really here for it. Mander players just have a specific vibe that I don’t get from, say, DeltaV.

I think that's one of the reasons why some people need to play space station 13.

Ive been watching so much ss13 and 14 content recently but ive been wary about trying the game because i hear admins and the people that regularly play sec are notorious powertripping degenerates and i dont wanna learn such a complex game while tiptoing around that.

Honestly, my main reason for playing SS14 is because it has a more stable connection to play (because it hasn't had any spaghetti code and i have shitty connection). I just want a chill but also fun and engaging time, discovering more and more stuff about the game, rp with the players, and just have some dumb fun which SS14 have very little of. SS13 is the first game i genuinely fell in love with. With SS14 now it just seems like a chore doing the same thing over and over while I still discovered new existing thing to try and master in SS13. i try not to engage with the community outside of the game or the admins for this reason, but it annoys me more with the way they develop their game currently and in the future.

Makes me sad when I load up byond and see that 50% of the players are on an ERP server even the RU servers full of it now.

Its crazy because ss14 is an amazing game, but the community ruins it. Smaller servers have rules against trashtalking wizden because they will have their servers shut down just for saying they dont like wizden, ss14 has become an actual dictatorship and it breaks my heart seeing my favorite game fall apart.

sounds just like literally any other ss13/14 server honestly (or any other moderated game for that matter), the people in power will always be shit i'll still play on wizden since the players are generally pretty chill ingame, but a golden rule i've come to learn over the years with the vast majority of games is to not interact with or participate in the community whatsoever outside of confines of the game itself and its always served me well wizden is just going to be another example of this it seems

Its a shame because the game is fun. I try to ignore the degeneracy and just play but its becoming harder and harder to do so. Most of the casual players aren't as you describe but you're right on the money about the folks running the game.
