    Is there any way to remove the slop from the belt? I have about 2 or 3 hours on my unit and my belt has popped off at least 5 times.

      I have one of these, I use it on the extreme end of the intended use for it. Apparently the belt from the factory on ones made a few years ago was superseded and replaced with a different part number. I haven't changed my belt yet, but apparently they work much better with a new belt. The new belt should be a 3L440. Word is that the mower works better than new when the new proper length belt is used. I'm thinking the stock belt was not the proper size as in too long, and then it stretches making it even worse. The adjuster on the handle doesn't have enough range to cover the slightly too long stock belt and the cable stretch after a couple years of use is what I figure the issue is.

    Getting your hand up to slide that belt under that plate is a pain - especially if you are in the back 40 of your acreage. (I take my tools with me - vs - dragging the machine back to the house). There is also that cable manual tightener that can help with the over slack

      If you do not have any drive pulleys, you'll need to contact the manufacturer for possible replacement parts or contact a parts vendor for help.

    Hey guys, I stumbled upon one of your earlier videos randomly by accident. As a result I watched your journey with big blondie up to this point. I've owned and operated a lot of vintage equipment, in fact I prefer it to modern machines that feel more like being a space pilot than a machine operator lol, I was watching you grading, and felling trees and noticed Blondie's tracks. In this video as you talk there is daylight showing between your Idler wheel and track links. So I thought I would give a bit of advice. (I know some folks don't appreciate this kinda thing so sorry if I'm poking my nose in, but I'm assuming you aren't a heavy equipment operator/mechanic) You'll prolong the life of your Track loader and avoid throwing a track If you take a bit of downtime and free up your track links, they're pretty stiff/seized. Also you need to tighten your Idler wheels as the tracks are too loose from what I can see. Given the age of her the grase seals on the track tensioner may be shot, but until you grease em up you won't know. Lay a straight edge from your top carrier roller to the Idler wheel ,you should only have about an Inch deflection between the edge and your track. If you hook a set of chain brothers on the lead track pad an hook it on the bucket you can curl it out and pull the slack out of the track, then you'll see how far you gotta bring out your Idler. Best of luck with your venture, I'm now a subscriber, Bill.

    • @JamestownSawmill
      @JamestownSawmill 5 років тому

      If the gears are independent, such as a 1, 2, 3, 4 shift pattern, like on a truck, then yes, deaccelerate. Most crawlers and bulldozers use a transmission shift 1-2 and 3-4 for gearing shift pattern. The shift from fist to second will be done mechanically. Hope this helps. Drott was the patent holder on the 4 in one bucket for many years, that's how it got the name. Now a days anyone can make one so the trade name for these buckets are 4 in one. They are very handy. I have one on my backhoe/loader. I don't think Drott is in business anymore.

Some of the Biggest Contractors on big projects would make there own special attachments like putting two D-8 side by side attached with only 1 operator.
