i mean its useful for me since i have like three brain cells and only know how to synthesize in resleriana (so basically the same as not knowing). im honestly more worried about the combat but i like how synthesized items are implemented

@ just because you like the simplified Alchemy doesn’t mean everyone is gonna like it. A lot of old school Atelier fans are worried on how simplistic it is compared to Ryza’s who’s alchemy system is also simplified and sometimes brain dead easy.

@@shawnsindulfoabellana3912 I admit I'm also one of the people who are very salty towards Yumia's needlessly simpler synthesis system (and it's primarily because I find it absolutely stupid to minimize the one thing that makes your IP unique!), but let's look at it from two points of view: 1. They don't want to lose the momentum the Ryza games have, and the goal of Ryza 1-2-3 was to create an Atelier game that's "Easy to get into". They definitely want to continue with that direction for the series. They know it's effective and grabs more attention, so it makes a whole lot of sense for Yumia to move forward (as much as I begrudgingly loathe that mindset.) 2. They still see the value of Atelier Synthesis Systems elsewhere, but it's not on the mainstream side. They've learned that they don't know how to appeal to both audiences (even though the solution is quite literally to make better tutorials that aren't all about bombarding the casual player with text and instead make synthesis goals that forces the player to observe and understand what happens within their own synthesis process). This is where Resleriana RW comes in. Their official description for Resleri RW is: Official EN description: Building on the experiences of the Atelier series while also evolving, we invite you to look forward to another story of "Resleriana". Official JP description: これまでの「アトリエ」シリーズの体験を踏襲しつつも進化した、もうひとつの『レスレリ』の物語にぜひご期待ください。 So yeah. I kinda hope Resleri RW is the game made for Atelier core game mechanic lovers while Yumia is the game made for newbies & casuals who are primarily looking for an anime rpg that focuses on an engaging story while having gameplay that "feels good" due to how little you have to think when playing it. I fully understand the frustration. In my opinion, Yumia should've been the Atelier game that finally bridges the gap for the ones who started with Ryza 1-2-3 and to finally let them know that "This is Atelier." and not "This is an anime rpg inspired by other popular rpg franchises"

@ yeah I noticed that with Sophie 2 as well after Ryza 2 they’re trying to play both old and new fans but my tactic is to not let the studio just getaway with everything they do in regards to the series future cuz we all know what happens when a company decides not to listen to their core fans but chasing after a non existent “broad” audience. This is one of the reasons why these companies are struggling to bridge both old and new fans cuz they can’t find a middle ground to appeal both and plus the fact that most new generation of players are either illiterate or not so versatile in mechanics at all cuz they don’t grew in the older gen of games and consoles.

EschatoLogy was a good approach but Resleriana being an in-game term instead of a real dictionary term made things feel really awkward for everyone

@@zoozbuh yup, the EN VAs are historically uncredited (or credited in an obscure manner) for Atelier games Fun fact: Shallistera's EN VA is incorrectly credited on KT America/Europe's official promotional material (PV2 and Dusk DX's official NA/EU website). It's supposed to be Jennie Kwan (since she includes her performance as Shallistera in her Voice Acting reel), but KTA/KTE credited Shelby Lindley instead

You don't have to play any older atelier game to understand the mechanics/gameplay for Atelier Yumia because every Atelier game has completely different mechanics so it's safe to start Atelier Yumia on its own

It's KT's fault tbh. The first reveal trailer only showed Resna, leading to people thinking that the only protag in the game is just her. Afterwards (in the 2nd trailer) they revealed Valeria, but many still don't realize that the game features dual protags It came to a point where people had wrong thoughts like: "Atelier Resna" "Atelier Resna and Izana" (Because Resna and Izana were shown sitting together in the first trailer) "Atelier Resleriana is Resna's name but longer" "Atelier Resleriana is Resna & Valeria's name mixed in together" The only time they ever mentioned that: "The Resleriana word has a meaning, look forward to it in the game!" was through an interview with Hosoi via Famitsu. They're so weird with it and they should've been just upfront all about it from the very start to avoid confusion 🥲

It's funny how often it's still misunderstood 😅 But isn't Valeria and Resnas name mixed together true too? I think in a later chapter Resna mentioned that after Valeria uses alchemy too, that it's funny that part of Valerias name is in Resleriana as well. So it wasn't originally intended for her but still fits 😄

@@puddingpanda645 Yeah, it's more of a coincidence when you consider the in-game chronological events but outside of that it's pretty intentional that Gust wanted to mix Resna & Valeria together. So maybe Resleri RW's protags will be a another "dissection" for the "Resleriana" game title lol
