I love to see people keeping their TN as their complete journal/planner system. Being new to TNs, I didn’t realise how many years they’d been around, but it feels sad somehow when someone puts their TN away and moves into some other notebook. I like the way you have yours planned out. Similar to how I’m using mine, getting a long time from each insert and not leaving pages unused 😀
Good to know that u R not wasting paper girl 🎉
I’ve watched this 3 times! Thank you! Who is the artist/journaler you mentioned? I couldn’t read it on your journal!
Thanks so much Betty! Oh yes sorry-I will also add her channel to my description. Her channel is great! www.youtube.com/@erin_ware_art
This was the best TN set up video I’ve watched. Loved the details and realness. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for your wonderfully kind comment, Sharlene!
I just found this channel. I love this video. I also only use a TN. You gave me a lot of good ideas. Thank you!
I love your honesty and going with your own funny flow... mom life I can relate to. Keep sharing. I really enjoyed your video. :)
As much as I want to try all the other pretty planners the Traveler's is just so customizable and the perfect size! It's like the perfect blend of a bound book and a rings planner set-up. I love your set up and all your hand lettering!! I need to do more of that next year in my journal. <3
@@thrudoupseyes3068 I feel that! I so want to try all the other planners as well. I’m excited to have found a tomoe river TN insert with Sarica Studio. Can’t wait to try it. I think it might add just the right amount of options for me and will help me stay within the TN system!
Loooove this! Jenn - this is such an inspiration for me to start thinking more expansively about how I journal, process my thinking, and capture creative insights that strike my fancy. Thank you ✳
Teri!!! You’re the best. Honestly, you’re the one who inspired me to dive in and make this video. I’m here to talk about journaling (and anything else really) anytime! 🖤🖤
Just found your channel looking for how to “declutter” my planning and journaling from the 100 books I use! Really enjoyed it, definitely interested in seeing similar.
Oooh… I'm liking how I could talk more about how minimalism meets planning. Thanks for watching and for your nice comment!
Nurture an analog space!!!! Good job Mom. 💓💓💓
I’m happy UA-cam recommended your video. I can relate on a lot of things. I’m new to Traveler’s Notebook and look forward to more videos.
Welcome to the TN community! I'm glad you enjoyed the video 🖤
Your debit card number is showing and so is your address and your kid”s name and date of birth you mentioned covering but didn’t. In case you want to re edit and cover.
Thank you so much-I figured out how to edit it within UA-cam.
Lovely TN! I’m on the hunt for tomoe river paper inserts besides the cloth and paper…I can’t find any! 😢 Have you run across any by chance? 😊
YES. I'm waiting for my first order through @saricastucio but she makes tomoe river paper inserts for both the regular and passport TN.
Loveeeeeeeeeee
Do you have a video on how to insert booklets inside a travelers notebook? I have 3 booklets + case and it doesn’t aligned correctly. Argh😅 so bulky!
I can absolutely create that video soon. Thanks for requesting!
There are many such on UA-cam.
Hi! I just made this short here explaining how I do it. For 3 inserts, it might not align correctly but the more you smoosh it with your hands the better it'll align over time. ua-cam.com/users/shortsavD23xmWxpA?si=KF0fzE0FXjK1Cf4w Let me know if you have questions!
What's the pouch on the bottom right corner? Is that a pen case?
@@armidasawan7519 Yes, it’s a Yuruliku flat tool case!
I just found your channel. Enjoyed your video. TFS! ❤️🤗
@@Joy2Plan thanks for watching!
“This is the only planner I use with the exception of this one.” Jenny, me too! This is the only planner I use with the exception of the other three 😂❤
@@SylviaWithAPlan bahaha you caught me! Though I had a revelation this past week and merged the TN Passport into the Standard 😅
What is your favorite journal brand, Jenny? And why? I really like your writing and drawing, so neat and pretty. It is a piece of little art you created!
@@EJ-co3nq Hi! That’s a great question. As of right now, it’s more about the paper and the binding than anything else. I’m trying to decide between MD paper (which is what TN inserts use) and tomoe river paper. It is mostly about how the paper interacts with fountain pens and watercolor! And thank you so much for your kind words and for watching 🖤
@heyjennylee Ahhh I see, very true. I need to look up the paper you mentioned. I am only recently starting to step into the stationary world. I like how you use journaling as a way to process your thoughts and emotions. The fact you are able to keep your writing tidy and neat is something I often struggle with. I used to journal, but I simply just wrote down trivial tasks I finished throughout the day. Eventually it was garbage for me and I threw it away. I can tell that you put effort and heart when journaling, that tells me your caring attitude towards life. And I think I really respect and admire that, a quality I need to learn from.
@@EJ-co3nq If you're just getting started in the stationery world, I recommend grabbing any notebook you can find! When I really got into journaling, specifically bullet journaling, I loved the Leuchtturm 1917 A5 dot grid notebook. The paper is great for almost any pen, and the book lies flat, which is great especially when practicing your handwriting. But honestly-remember that your journal is just for you! You can put anything in there in any style that you want. My early journals are quite messy and disorganized… messy handwriting… but they were still a place that felt like home.
@heyjennylee Thank you very much, Jenny! The notebook looks neat. I like its hard cover. I am currently facing a life/death challenge, and honestly I don't know how much time I have left in the world. Sometimes I wonder what the point is for me to write and keep a journal because I might die in the near future. What is the point of journaling when I know I have a tendency to procrastinate and easy to give up? But after seeing your video, I realize I want to take my life seriously even if I might get to the end of my life sooner than others. Yes, journaling is for us, for us to process, reflect, and dig deeper into our emotions, thoughts, traumas, and core. Thank you for listening, sharing and making the video, Jenny. I hope you and your loved ones live a healthy and stress-minimzed life, and become better versions of yourselves through each passing day. I hope you find yourself soothed, inspired, lifted and grown after journaling. Love your drawings too.
@ Wishing you health, inspiration, and peace 🖤🖤🖤
Hey, I was checking your blog post with this calendar, but I still can not understand which formula should I use in the countdown ((
Hi, use the subtract(28, prop("cycle")) formula for the countdown.

Hey Jenny! I love how you track this. I can not find the template, where can a get it?
Hi! Glad you like it. I am not sure if the template still exists for the public. Here's the blog post where I walk you through how to set it up and it also includes some formulas. www.hellobrio.com/blog/notion-mood-tracker-template
🎉
I've just gotten into digital journaling, and LOVE it (Bujo user for years, but I have GSuite and Apple Ecosystem for Work and Side Hustle and Home. Question: I see you've got your iCal entries and then you're writing them again. Can you elaborate on how/why you're keeping information in two places? I'm battling overwhelm and am trying to consider/justify why the digital planner - which I already downloaded - makes sense when I've got the calendar. Thank you!
Hi there! This is a great question. I no longer copy my calendar for the day in my digital planner-UNLESS I am trying to find blocks of time to plan out my day to get some focus work done. I also found it to be overwhelming to have my calendar in two places. Especially when my calendar changes during the day! Now, I use my digital planner more as a place for bullet journal collections. I hope this helps!
I used this detailed walkthrough for building a mood board for myself..thank you :)
fantastic!! i’m so glad this helped you 🖤
omg I was making a mood tracker because of my pmdd and just looked up "mood tracker notion" and found this, UA-cam search gods were in my favor today. great video!
This is genius!
Thanks so much, Niles! I hope you find it useful.
Great vid!!! Good to see that you mentioned “Domestic Violence situations”!!! This is one way a woman who is looking for her chance to FLY.. can have her stuff in one bag without it being so noticeable.
Great concept - I plan to start it today. Thanks
awesome, hope you love it!
Hi Jenny Lee, I listened to a podcast and took hand-written notes. I typed the notes into Notion. Now I would like highlights from those notes in Notion to show up in my morning email from Readwise. So how do I get highlights in Notion into Readwise? Thanks, George
Hi George, I don’t think you can go from Notion to Readwise, only Readwise to Notion!
People underestimate how strong of a hold caffeine can have on your brain. It's literally tied to everything I do. Exercise, Work, Social gatherings, Studying, etc.... I just want level and stable energy through out the day instead of planning out my day around a substance.
Thanks… very helpful
The mood formula is really exciting. Thx! 👍👿🩸
You’re so welcome!
You are speaking so clearly it helps me to understand english as a non native speaker
Such a simple and impactful journaling style! Great tips, especially relatable as a parent trying to juggle a lot physically and mentally! So happy to see your videos again, Jenny!! :)
Thanks so much, Dena! Thanks for inspiring me :)
I am eye catching on this backpack. Is it heavy? Because it is leather
It doesn’t seem very heavy to me by itself. I load a LOT of stuff in it and it still feels comfortable!
thanks for the inspiration. Will absolutely try this, and look, what it does to me. I am already journaling nearly daily, always asking myself how I will and what achievements I made that day. That helps me a lot to see what I can accomplish, even if it is really small, like taking a real break or being nice to myself.
Love it. Journaling is an amazing practice. I hope you find that you like the 54321 framework if you try it!
Love this
Hey Jenny, really enjoyed the review, could you tell how is the backpack holding on after a year, just wanted to know while I just ordered it for my wife as a present, does it last good?
Hey Paul, the backpack is holding up great! Mine has taken a beating. The leather only shows nice character and wear-what you'd expect from a high-quality leather bag.
@@heyjennylee Thank you very much for the reply!
hey, where's the download link? i believe this will be very useful for me because i'm autistic
Hi! I don’t have a direct download link but I have a blog post walking you through how to create each property. The blog post link is in the description. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions
Such a good idea to track like this! Thank you for sharing.
you're welcome, bekah!
How do you set up the Cycle property?
Hey there! It’s a number property where you show it as a ring, and then divide by 28. I also choose to show the number.
But it doesn't change automatically as you start tracking a new day isn't it?
@@Amy-jk4vk Right, definitely a downfall. I didn't quite figure that out yet!
Hi Jenny! I just found this youtube video as Im going through pmdd diagnosis... this tracker looks SO useful, and I would really appreciate if you could provide the template so I can use it on my own notion account. Thank you for sharing!
Hey! Thanks for watching. I don't have the template available just yet, but I have the full tutorial on how to set it up in the blog post here: www.hellobrio.com/blog/notion-mood-tracker-template
@@heyjennylee Wonderful, thank you!
Sometimes I just need to be told.. And I've been told by Jenny 😂... Time to start decluttering them photos!
Haha I hope you find it helpful. It's so funny to go back and review photos and see how many bad/weird photos are taking up a ton of digital memory!
All of the things you suggested are what I need help with haha. I'm a "hot mess" and riddled with overwhelm. I discovered Notion a couple of months back and I'm addicted, but I don't think its helping me fight the poor time management, procrastination, crappy filing methods and the rabbit holes that lead me to too many open tabs. I feel like I'm stuck in a cycle and I am trying to pull myself out. I just feel as though I'm putting my time into the wrong things and therefore I'm not seeing the results I think I'm hoping to see.. I just feel like the list never ends for things to do, read, watch etc, Which is part of the tech existence, the ever-expanding content that is growing exponentially and increasing the rate it does so, every year. I'd love to know more about how you're using notion and what else you're doing in regards to staying focused and attentive to what's important in 2022, for you.
Hey hydronicrocker, this is so vulnerable and relatable-thank you for sharing. I think part of it is remembering that a lot of our "never-ending to do list" is self-mandated. So like, WHY do we have such a big inbox of things to do/read/watch? I think it helps to take a giant step back from everything digital and re-assess what your overall goals are. Notion is a slippery slope, in my experience. It's easy to think it can be a one-size-fits-all solution for everything, including overwhelm and hot messery. After trying to force a square peg in a round hole, I ditched Notion for my daily check-ins and have it more as a database for only "final notes" and "published pieces". I shared a bit about my tech stack here: view.flodesk.com/emails/63592ca8eaaa8a00893aaa91 As far as staying focused to what's important? Journaling. Lots of journaling. And lots of re-assessing. I'm constantly cutting out things (which may or may not be the healthiest way to approach this) but just testing things. Like cutting out wearables for 20 days (apple watch, etc), or going content-free for 7 days (per The Artist's Way book week 4 assignment). I realize I use a lot of toxic productivity as a crutch to stay busy, and I'm learning to sit with the discomfort more and more.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I'll give the link a read that you've shared 🙂 Sounds like you're managing it best you can right now. I have been a bit infrequent with journalling, though I still try to journal when I can and feel the push to do so. As for Notion, I totally agree, and im thinking it's just best as a storage of data for me rather than a practical task/list management tool. It may work for others but the simplicity of a quick google keep note or even todoist is far more refreshing and easier to manage. I kind of binge watched a bunch of your videos and was up till 1am doing so, after which I felt uplifted and inspired. I think it's important to keep evaluating/reflecting and adjusting to better optimize the systems/routines/practices we have in place so we don't get stagnant and settle for less than we desire in terms of goals etc. But if something works that we have tried to switch from previously with a shiny new tool, it will be evident with time as we find ourselves navigating back to that trusty tool we were using before the new shiny. I hope you are doing well and would love to see more content from you in the future. You seem like a lovely person, inspiring and real. I appreciate the time you take in producing your content. I recently downloaded your minimalism map and have started working through it. Have an awesome morning/day/evening wherever you are 🙂
Thank you so, so much for your kind words and words of encouragement. I may or may not pick back up with UA-cam in the future. Either way, thank you for appreciating my stuff and connecting with me on Instagram. Here for you!
