Go up one, all the exact tools as the Ranger, (mini champ 😜) and just add the pliers and you have the handyman! In between the Ranger and the Swiss Champion C as it used to be called. Great video, keep them coming! Thanks!

Yes. Factory puts a bit of similar stuff on them to help hold them. When I change a clip from tip down carry to tip up I also put some on as well.

A Beautiful Knife,,,,,, Unfortunately 440 Stainless Steel Is Only Good For Shiny Nice Replica Knives !! Not A True Survival Or Bushcraft Knife. I Wish They Would've Made This Knife With 3V Super Steel Or Aus 10 Or D2 !! Oh Well,,,,, Can't Have It All I Guess. 😂

The difference in the size of the particles may have more to do with the scraper than the magnesium block. The 2.00 one I bought from Harbor Freight works fine. I sharpened the back edge, the one without the saw teeth, of the scraper that came with it on my diamond stone.

I have the old one as well, and I am very happy with it. I did not know about the shorter screw driver, but you missed that they also added the hook and a pin to the newer one as well. I have the 1985 version that I purchased the same year, which I think is the original.

I love how people think they know what I need or what my shit can or cannot do. All my knives are capable of these tasks! I suggest getting a nicer one if yours can't handle a simple task. And if you don't like it don't watch or go fuck yourself! Freedoms great isn't it!

I got a bunch of these a number of years ago. One year I dropped one in the mud in a wide spot way up on the mountain. Three years later I pulled over in the exact same spot and found it in the dried mud! Took it home, washed it up. Can't tell the difference from the exact same one in the knife bag! No rust, no cracks, no problems! If I remember, at that time, $3.XX on one of those lazy susan type counter top racks. Now every time I go into Wally World, I just have to get 2 or 3! They have changed the pattern and blade shape over the years, but these are the best example of chinesium cutlery! I love em!

My Ranger has been my hiking/camping knife for...several years. The only modifications I've made is to add a micro-screwdriver to the corkscrew and place in pin in it's slot. My Super Tinker is my EDC knife and I did modify it to blue plus scales. Surprised at just how often I use that pen. A good, quick video. Well done.

Everything depends on you're intentions for the Bowie. I don't see myself ever using it for whittling purposes so whether it's able to or not is irrelevant to me. Also how it performs in various types of wood. It may not whittle Hardwood like Oak well but then again most knifes don't whittle it well unless you talking about some of the most high grade steels their are for knife making. Yet it may work well enough in softwoods in a wilderness setting which is more likely the type wood I'd woodcraft with. So it's all relative. As a wood splitter it should work fine being 4440 grade steel. I don't think I'd ever use it as a wood chopper either in most cases. A Saw or woodcrafters Axe at a campsite is far more preferable. Now if we are talking all-purpose survival knife with nothing else to use then yes you'd want the highest grade steel for knifes available with big price tags. But for a Bowie at twenty bucks of 4440 steel I'm very pleased with The Old Timer.

My previous comment was only an opinion, I bought this knife a while back, could be the batch,am going to use though, will comment in future if I have the same issues, I don't consider my self an expert, thats why I watch to learn.

Might of lost a bit of tempering if factory ground on a Monday or a Friday, might correct after a couple of sharpenings or it will end up just looking pretty, maybe a more acute bevel might help, ya never know.

This is an excellent value for the price, it is very much built like the ZT 0350, with great G10 scales, and nice stainless steel thick liners and a great blade profile. This is the best budget knife out there in my opinion. The knife feels great in the hand and is super sharp right out of the box.

Picked one up last night. Only difference is mine has a bottle opener on the bottom. Would rather it had a seat belt cutter. But man!!!! The Ozark 11 inch fixed blade is a fantastic buy! The Camillus titanium bonded, full tang, 9.5 inch drop point is a fantastic budget knife as well. I had big doubts cause it was only 10 bucks or so. Razor sharp! Just like the 11 inch Ozark trail fixed blade. It looks like a bad guys knife. Reminds me of a Buck I had once
