Does this load double super 8 films? Can't find much info on this model and its not featured on the super 8 database website.
I have the D40 and I love it.. D40X is a champ!
Good feature is the ability to shoot raw files at three resolution options.. same as the ability to select your jpegs to save in scaled resolutions.. Handy to save space on the CF card you use or speed up image processing if your computer is low spec. This is not possible on my Nikon DSLRs. To find the shutter count, you need to connect the camera to a PC via USB (or Mac I guess) and use the dedicated Canon tool software to access the info. It is not embeded information in the files that this model delivers. 😊
I bought one from a retiring professional photographer. He was selling some of his extensive lenses. I asked him if it was a true L lens. He said without hesitation that it was. He showed me one of his L lenses and asked to look into the lens. Same coatings, metal construction, and he said that he always believed it was a genuine L. By the way, I got it for 50 euros. It is pristine and pennies to his other equipment. He wasn't saying it to sell. It will be pulled out of my cold, dead hand. It's of the highest quality, and this never comes across properly in reviews.
They aimed it the KSX because it was their version of the Pentax KX, the "S" making the distinction that it was, in fact, a Sears camera
What camera are you recording with ? & what lens
In this video
I still use a D40x that I bought in 2009. I use an 18 70 afs DX f3.5 F,4.5 lens Doesn't eat batteries.
Thanks for sharing this information about this camera. Cheers, Patrick! ✌️
Thanks for watching my friend.
Balistreri Trail
Can you set the shutter speed before and after you cock the shutter? I have a zenith b that requires you to crank before you change the shutter speed! Cool vid thanks for the info!
Also great shots! Stuff looks so cool on b&w
i have a minolta x-7, which i believe is essentially the same thing, and when i get to about 35 photos my lever stops cranking. i have a 400 film in there. how do i fix this?
Good review on the film. Cheers, Patrick! ✌🏻
Thanks! 👍, I rather enjoy the results I got and know when and where to shoot it.
This doesn’t need charger right?
Nope, just the batteries
do you know if batteries are required in order to use the camera?
@@austonbeals9693 yes, and no. It has a lot of automatic features. The good thing is their batteries you can find anywhere so I wouldn’t sweat that part of it.
I am about to buy it, just because its so small and handy! - any particular tips about it? thx Levi in Sweden (how big SD does it handle?) seller asks 20euros for it with battery and charger -- i only have old cams... an Nikon L100 too, but its enough for an ol man like me, 67y...lol)
Still use it …..Beautiful Combo with my 50 mm F1.2
Where did u find the cage for it
Here is the link to the cage. a.co/d/8j8msNd
@@MTOProthank you
Pretty cool camera. Cheers, Patrick! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Thank you my friend, so far it’s been a blast to use.
I like the image quality of this camera better than modern cams.
Me too. I think the lens and that old CCD sensor has a lot to do with it.
A very interesting looking Canon camera. The photos you took with it don't look too bad. Cheers, Patrick! ✌️
@@dwaynewladyka577 I was pretty much thinking they wouldn’t be as good as they were, but was over all pleased. Thanks for watching.
mine is now 17 years and its still good
@@pradeepellaaaaheshan7276 yes it is.
An impressive looking Nikon. Cheers, Patrick! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Thank you so much appreciate the support
Very nice. Cheers, Patrick! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Thank you! Cheers!
Very nostalgic and very familiar cameras. I remember those 110 cameras very well. Certain drugstores still get 35 mm film developed, because I still see disposable cameras in certain drugstores. Once, I got an Argus focus free flash camera for Christmas. It used 2 AA batteries for the flash. I would do creative things with it. There were pieces of coloued plastic that I would get from 3D movie glasses, or from something else. I taped it over the lens of that camera to put a colour filter effect on the photos. The photos turned out red, blue, green, or yellow, depending on the plastic I used as a filter. Pretty neat to look at the history of photography and where we came from with it. I saw recently where someone with a very old camera is doing tintype photography. Photography is very fascinating in all its aspects. Cheers, Patrick! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Thanks so much for watching. We had a 126 when I was a kid and used it a lot.
Awesome vintage cameras. Both look pretty cool. My dad, who is 94, this year, had a Kodak camera from either the 1930s, or the 1940s. I also like other photographers from history. One is Matthew Brady, and the other is Ansel Adams. It's pretty neat how they did their photography. An older sibling of mine has Ansel Adams photographs. She also has one of mine on a wall of her home. Around 30 years ago, I was at a grandparent's funeral, in the village where I was born. It was in the winter. I took a photo of a grain elevator, with railrod tracks, and some rail cars in the scene, with some brush sticking out of the snow. The photo was enlarged and put in a matching frame. Cheers, Patrick! ✌️
Would l like to see them.
Pretty cool camera. The cameras from the 1980s and 1990s were awesome. Cheers, Patrick! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Yes they were. I had a lot of fun shooting with the T50 and will pick it up again.
Whatever your drinking must be good lol. I have that camera I bought a long time but never got into and now I'm ready. I ended up buying a Canon t7 refurbished from Canon and I still have time to return. I was thinking maybe return it and learn off my a100. What's your recommendation and I know it's only 10 megapixel, is that enough to do editing in Lightroom especially shooting raw?
I think it would be fine. I am going to dig mine back out later this year.
i just bought one its a weird little camera
Your video really helped me. I was hesitant to buy this camera in 2024 but I am going to buy it this week!
Thinking of doing the same. My only full fram camera is a a Sony, but I cant afford Sony glass. I have good canon lenses, and second hand EF glass is pretty cheap!
I 100% agree with you. I am still cranking out some amazing pics with this camera. With cost and today’s market conditions don’t see it changing anytime soon.
@@MTOPro I do worry a bity about dynamic range....butI'll just keep that SOny body for those situations. The 7 Artisans adapter let me use canon glass with full autofocus and IS. AT leasst on my 70-200mm f4 L
Had to postpone as I got a very favourable deal on a second hand Canon EF 24-105mm F4 IS USM lens. I'll smack that on the Sony with the adapter, until I get on top of my bills again, lol But I will get that EOS 5D II I miss shooting Canons.
The small light so close to the diffuser doesn’t do much of anything. What is that light supposed to accomplish.

Why are we looking at my first digital camera?
Why not. The more I think on this there is a really good answer. Why not shoot with these cameras. I had rather see someone pick one of these up shoot with it than dumping thousands of dollars into the latest and greatest to find out it is not for them. So a budget oppition is the way to go. Yes I have way better and newer cameras. But there is something about shooting with these old cameras.
I have a D40X bought it brand new when released have a D90 also and a D800... Seriously you content would be better if you film from a reasonable position not up face and cure your mic issues and lighting.. are you a camera person or not.. it appears you may not be.
Thanks for the advice
First time viewer, question, why the hell are you filming up your nose and chin... seriously, not sure how much or long I can watch you this way... If you consider yourself a content creator please act like one that actually knows how to create content not this ridiculous nonsense ..
i like the robustness of that era's cameras. i still actively use my nikon d90. actually i use it more than my fuji x-t3 because i am not afraid be rough with it. d90 is like a tank compared to new Dslrs and mirrorless. new cameras are too digital and fragile, i am always on edge when i use them, what if i put it on the table too hard, what if the lcd is brakes or get scratched etc. d90 lcd screen is not a touch screen and because of that, it has a 1/4 of a centimeter thick plastic cover on it, i'd have to throw it into wall to be able to break it. and if you are afraid to carry and take your camera to everywhere, then you are not using it, you miss shots. d40x doesn't have video, d90 was the first one to be able to record hd (720p) video, if i remember correctly, it was released in 2008. i am not sure if d70-d80 etc had a 480p recording options.
Camera's are built tougher now...
Coooooool
Thank you 🙏
I recently picked one of these up myself. I had a D40 back in the day. The images I got from that were really good so thought it would be fun to have one again. Besides, the whole kit only cost me $55 with battery, charger, strap and kit lens. I did get the D40X though thinking the xtra resolution would be good. BTW, there is NO video on these camera. I believe the first Nikon with video was the D90.
So far I am impressed with this camera. I keep saying don’t push these old cameras away. They are pretty sweet.
Old school is the best school....well done. As always, ( for the first time ) keep up the good work and keep'em flying... from the little red planet... 👽👾👽👾👽👾👽👾👽👾👽👾....🤣
Welcome to the channel. Love the old school cameras and this is just another example of well made hardware.
What's the name of the USB type on the side for the AV Outlook?
Not really sure, haven’t seen one with a camera.
Pretty neat camera. Cheers, Patrick!
Thanks 👍
A very cool lens. Cheers, Patrick! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Thank you my friend, much appreciated.
Most cameras from the last 15 years are more then enough for users. Anything newer is just a nice to have. The 5D ii is an amazing camera in 2024
Oh I agree, every time I take it out it blows me away. Thanks for watching
That's pretty cool. I like it. Cheers, Patrick! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Thank you so much. It is a cool old camera
I just recently got this camera and wanted to know what type of A/V outlet cord does it need? Thanks so much
It uses a strange cord that I don’t have either. I just pop the CF card out and upload straight to the computer.
2007 seems like yesterday. I've actually seen Nikon cameras advertised that use AA batteries. That's a bonus, because other types of batteries can become obsolete. Not a bad digital camera. Cheers, Patrick! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️
Thank you my friend, yeah kinda nice to have a battery option that is easy to find.
Should i go for nikon 3400d? Or nex5 better?
Never used a 3400D, my question what does it do vs the NEX

Wow!!
FYR I think QD stands for quartz date. IMO the Minolta wins for picture quality and ability to turn off the flash.
I agree, when I need the flash I want to turn it on. Thank you for watching.
Pretty solid collection. Which is your favorite?
Right now I reach for the Minolta SLR more. But I have ran the Pentax or Canon T50 yet. We shall see.
