You have great taste in gear. Stradic and Tatula 🤤- nice video!
How big of a bucktail is too big for medium size lakers? 🎣
What is that rod?
You know the rod in the video that you where fishing with i can’t find it and i have one and i want to buy another one because i caught over 200 fish with it and i don’t know what rod it is?
i cant find any i think they stoped making it
Hmmm. Sorry just seeing this. Not sure which video you’re referencing. St Croix Avid? St Croix Premier 7’ ML? Those are my two most used spinning rods.
Great video, how do you get them to bite when they are being picky? I’ve been fishing them for years using Luna jigs which are just like the Pline. Some days they just look and move right on. They don’t want tubes, or anything else. Any suggestions? Thanks
Some days that’s just how it goes sadly. Just like any other fish ya know. Part of the game! Adding scent and stuff helps on occasion. Tight lines!
Can I use the st croix victory rod for salt water?
I’m sure you could. Probably not for anything over 10 lbs though.
What size and kind of line is recommended on that craw bait????
Have you ever tried the P-Line Lazer Minnow in 3oz or 4oz? We fish at 150-200' feet so wondering if the larger size would be better.
I have not because we don’t fish that deep. I think you could still get away with 2 oz at 150. Definitely try it though! Could work great if you can get down quicker.
@usfishermen We tried the 3oz....money! The 4oz was actually too heavy for my bass spinning rod. 🥴
Stradic fl or fm in your opinion?
What’s the setup on those tubes, like where do you get those tubes and which heads ??? Thank you.
I got all my st criox series. Legend Tournament bass 7'1 med hvy Mojo bass 7'1 medium Mojo bass baitcaster 7'1 Triumph med lite rod 6' St criox ultra light rod 5' Best collection for me. Never fail me through all this yrs.
Awesome. They sure are great rods! Will last a lifetime.
Zero bass. You see an LED image on your smartphone depicting another LED screen with a sonar image of a school of crappie.
What🤣 I caught 5 of them and I promise they were largemouth lmao
❤❤
Fact check: core tackle didn’t create hover rig, the technique came from Japan couple years ago. Although they did create the jig head that made hover rig easier to rig
Their jig is called the “Hover Rig”. Which is why I referenced them as creators. I see what you mean though!
Fire 🔥
Neither the new vanquish!!!!
Stradic is a completely different $$price point$$ and family of reels within Shimano’s spinning reel line-up than the Vanquish!!! Similar to comparing a 4x4 truck to a Corvette 🤪
You got it!👌🏼
What size VMC Bladed Treble do you use?
We use the #2 size trebles!
@@usfishermen Thanks!
I'm sorry but those core tackle heads suck for mid strolling.....You want heads that give the bait the "rolling" action that midstrolling is known for
I actually prefer ZERO rolling. I’ve caught hundreds of fish on them :) minnows don’t roll. That’s just a gimmick that the big bait companies want you to believe!
@@usfishermen injured baitfish do roll.. go look at a school of baitfish & look at all the "flashing/rolling" that goes on....The Japanese call it strolling just cause of that "rolling "action"...
Ethan, thanks so much to you and your dad for all of the great information on GTB Lake Trout fishing! Hope to see you guys out there this year.
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching and I hope to see ya around too :)
Im a st-croix fan. But after few year and 2 premier rod,1 avid, 1 mojo and 1 trumph, I looking what the comptition do and if you look just the st-croix premier, this rod have not a lot of tech or something special for the price..if you looking okuma rod..you can find somthing a lot cheaper for something look like the same. But the st-croix premier are handmade in USA so probably very durable vs another brand or vs the triumph made in mexico.
I see what you mean. However, I don’t think there have been any incredible advances with the new tech with other rods. St. Croix still uses top of the line guides and reel seats, and their blanks are the most sensitive that I have held in my hand. It doesn’t justify switching for me! But I completely see what you mean and it would be interesting to see some side by side tests between St Croix and competitors
@@usfishermen Help me decide on a "everyday rod" looking to fish trout and bass mostly. Im looking between St. Croix victory, Premier or Dobyns fury. Thanks
@@jonathonborges2914 Premier Medium or Medium Light (smaller trout/bass and lighter lures) will both be great options. I’d opt for a medium light personally! 7’ is a great length.
@@usfishermen premier would be better than Dobyns fury?
@@jonathonborges2914 I’m a fan. I’ve never used a Fury but I’ve heard they are good rods as well
What type of rod action/speed would you use for heavy tube jigs (2-4oz) up to 120' and why?
The same rod we used in the video works great for heavy tubes. MH or H Fast action Shimano Teramar in that 7’-7’6” range. They load up really well with big fish so you don’t lose many from head shakes etc.. but they also have enough backbone to get them to the surface easily.
What bait was that you were rigging strolling jighead on please?
Dat me backyard
Dat you!
Nice catch man. Good looking fish
Thanks for watching. That was a real fun day!
The peace, quiet and tranquility
I feel ya there!
Great video! I know this setup is mainly for spinning setup. But do you know a budget casting setup for this mid strolling brother?
Thanks for watching! Good question. I’m sure there’s lots of options out there but I would always go towards a spinning setup for this technique just because you get control. However, you’d want a Medium/Medium light fast action 7’2 bait casting rod pair with a moderate gear ratio reel (6.3-1). Shimano SLX is a good reel for the price. Lots of rod options out there!
@@usfishermen thanks brother!
Awww poor lil fella..
Frog
Hey man why don’t you try livescopinmg with a frog man it works good on Lake St Clair idk if you fish it much but it’s a good lake for Drum
Nice keep going!
Appreciate that. I will!
You did not show any tips or tricks baits. Just fishing.
That’s because this was a fishing video, not a fishing tips and tricks video.
So when throwing baits that imitate a bluegill or bait fish. What are your thoughts on swimbaits? Would they be effective in the same conditions? And is 4.25" too big or would you suggest going smaller more finnese?
Swimbaits have their time and place, but when I’m trying to imitate bluegill I’m always going to throw a football jig, crankbait, or glidebait first. 4.25” is definitely fine for swimbaits, but you may have to go up or down in size to trigger bites! Dragging a swimbait is very effective this time of year.
@@usfishermen perfect. Thank you!! Really wanting to test out efficiently some new swimbaits I got from a company I'm working with
First
