I’m glad you reviewed it. For me it was bad, the makeup, acting, plot. They had a few good scenes like the treehouse, the vamps on the roofs with the fog. The kid isn’t believable, he’s hunting down vamps, he saw his parents get killed and he wasn’t really bothered by it. I’m not the kind of person who compares to the original, I do like remakes if the original movie is old but I wouldn’t recommend this movie.

It's hard to take a criticism seriously, when the first words spoken against the film is a lie. "There's no Michael Myers and it barely has any room to call itself a Halloween film " Is just bad faith criticism. Lets start with the lie: Michael Myers screentime in Ends is more than in the original movie. He has 9 minutes in the 78 movie, 11 minutes in Ends. Even if this wasn't the case, to say there's NO Michael when there clearly is, is insulting to the intelligence of other viewers and its a dishonest misrepresent of facts. Which leads to : the notion that it's a good movie but a bad Halloween movie is irrational, it's not a logical premise. Subject fab notions of what some fans like in the franchise, don't justify arbitrarily trying to invalidate said movie as if these fans decide what belongs or doesn't belong in a Halloween movie. At 3:26 beginning on such an illogical premise only leads to a nonsensical conclusion. I can only imagine how bad the rest of this is...

This was a crazy one but I did like it.

Shelley was the worst, but Crispin Clover as a sad sack nerd was great. 3D lacked the type of Ft13th atmosphere I liked from the first two, and Chris was possibly my least favourite final girl. In contrast, Kimberly Beck is my favourite final girl. In terms of rankings: 3D is the dividing line between the ones I like and dislike. IV is my personal favourite

Betsy Palmer sold the original. Aside from that, I especially like the atmosphere - it feels like a cosy (but bloody) mystery. Part II is my 2nd favorite, right behind IV. Ginny was great, although I wish they hadn't killed Crazy Ralph off - he could've been the thread of continuity throughout the franchise.

Part 5 is better than 8 and 9. It followed the formula and had the best pair of tits in the entire franchise 😂

I hated 5 at first, but now it's a favourite. I can't argue in terms of quality, but the franchise isn't noted for such anyway. It actually plays a bit more fair with the reveal than the original, but didn't have Betsy Palmer's excellent performance to sell its ludicrousness. Jason Lives - the comedic aspects seemed like too much of a tonal shift from the horror - it was more like Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (1988), but without Elivira's massive talents.

I’m so glad you’re doing this review. I never heard of this movie until another reviewer reviewed it and he liked it. I wasn’t completely sold on it yet because Demi Moore (I don’t think) hasn’t been the lead in a movie for a long time so I was curious about it and then Dennis Quaid, I use to be interested in his movies until… I won’t go there. But I’m interested in it now. I might buy it once it comes out to watch it. Thanks.

Part 5 is not my favorite Friday, the 13th movie, but it's still watchable. Ethel and Junior stole the show Jason Lives they got back to basics but didn't take it seriously its the most fun Friday the 13th movie

That opening was literally shot in Cory's backyard. They wanted that link so bad, they went to his house.

Part 5 had the corniest dialogues I've ever heard out of the whole Friday the 13th. franchise. , but the lines of Ethel and Jr were funny.

It all adds up to “suspension of disbelief”, also one of first uses of the steadi-cam in the subway tube/chase scene and escalator.

Andy using the word bitch was set up twice earlier in the film. Bjorne calls him a bitch twice and you can tell from Andy's reaction he's confused as to what that word means or how to use it...this is why it comes out the way it does after "get away from her..."

Take a drink every time they say, “shish kabobs.” 😂 I saw this movie once when I was a kid, I think I liked it but I would have to watch it again. I hope you two will collaborate again.

When I was in high school, my buddy and I worked in a movie theater. Every show we would turn the volume down in the projection booth and one show I would be Pedro and he would be Man. The next time we would switch parts. We knew every line in this movie. All we knew about the movie is there was a giant joint in it. We didn't know how big it was but in order to sell the movie we found a 4 ft imitation Christmas tree in the attic of the theater. We wrapped it into a huge joint and wrote Up In Smoke on it and walked back and forth in front of the place. It was February so it was cold as hell but it was fun anyway. A few fun things to know about this. 1. This is the only C&C movie NOT directed by Tommy Chong 2. The dog that stole the hotdog was a stray and not an actor 3 There was a scene when the guys are in jail, Harry Dean Stanton footage, but it was cut in editing.. 4. The entire time (in this movie) neither of them got loaded at all. But we did 4/20 5. In 1978 that giant joint, sans the dog shit, would have cost roughly $100 where I lived. Today it's only 10g for $100. ☹☹

I had a lot of fun with this one. As someone who prefers Alien over Aliens, it feels more horror than action, which I love. I can't wait to watch it again and cover it at some point. Great review+
