Переглядів 82 тис.4 роки тому
Hi friends! I've been working at this chair makeover for what seems like forever! In this video, I show you how to paint any fabric to create a faux leather finish! This was definitely time-consuming, but none the less, it was so fun and I'm super pleased with the results! I think that for the whole $30 I spent, I've created a pretty good dupe for that expensive Pottery Barn Chair I wanted. Sta...

The paint I used: www.lowes.com/pd/Rust-Oleum-Specialty-Light-Base-Satin-Co...
That turned out so beautiful.
You should have pulled to stove out to get those edges.
From Lone Fox, great tutorial! Thanks
How is the chair now?
Did you add some polyethylene on top to seal or just leave as is.
Awesome... I liked and subscribed because you didn't push us to!
Great job! My problem is my laminate is lifting off the particle base, and there humps on the surface. What can I do for that?
Thank you for the really good explanation and demo about the ratio of paint to fabric softener. It was so helpful to see it in real time. I am excited to try your technique. Will use exactly the same products you used. Looks great!
Do you know how to give it a leather texture to the finisher?
Will that work on My white ski jacket ?
Good job but you need a drop cloth your going to ruin your expensive concrete with paint splatter.
How is this project wearing? It has been 3 years. Does it still look good?
Your cat is absolutely beautiful 👻
Not my cup of tea...
Snuggle changed their fabric softener formula so this doesn’t work anymore 😭
Very talented lady.
I like the one you hated…gild the frame
Nice job. Love it!
Will this paint work on faux leather ? Or would acrylic paint be better
Clean with tsp, then sand, so you don’t sand grim into the counters.
what type of paint is that?
Nice job! Cheers from England xx
This was the first one of these countertop painting videos that I've watched that felt authentic...you showed your errors and doubts and how to avoid the mistakes so thank you for the dose of reality.
What brand is the paint? Where did you buy it from?
Seeing few patches of paint on the wall, no matter how good you think you are, always put tape all over the counter, sink…and cover the lowers cabinets with plastic.
How is it holding up after a2 years???
It looks great! Can I buy stoned countertop paint?
You did so great!!! Thanks for all the tips! Love it.
Great. To save paint on the first layer, just apply primer
im impressed, pretty and handy!!
Looks great 👍 how has this help up?
I've done 4 coats and the texture is more suede like, it's not getting rubbery. What am I doing wrong?
I’m not sure. What is the fabric’s original texture?
@@emmanies4901 It was like a velour. I think maybe I didn’t use enough fabric softener?? I might add more for the next coat and see the f it makes a difference.
@@TamaraVose velour may be tricky. Yes I would add more softener, just be careful not to add too much.
@@emmanies4901 Yeah I mean suede is fine too if it turns out that way. Lol.
and everyone else gets it from Jonatton ua-cam.com/video/3SqNroq-wdc/v-deo.html
I love your technique for painting fabric. Thank you for sharing ❣️
Ficou maravilhosa !!! Tenho uma poltrona com tecido emborrachado, será que dá certo essa técnica, se puder me responder ficarei muito agradecida !!!! Obrigada 🙏🏻
Thumbs up! Im really impressed! Just sub to your channel.
I'm crazy about this process. It's really given new alternative to old furniture- also made our space more cohesive & up to date. Thanks a gajillion!!!
Excellent and so informative...thank you
Amazing!
Just the video I needed
Anyone try this on plastic ?
I tried doing this but my paint is cracking, Im also in Spain so I can't get the same brand. what type of paint is it? btw that looks stunning !!
Ok but what kind of razor is that you whipped out for a sec in the beginning?
Hello- what paint colors did you use?
Very nicely done. Some other youtubers wax the finished product. maybe that takes care of the stickiness but they say it has to cure for a few weeks.
Good work! Was the white paint also rustoleum?
Yes, they’re the same paint!
Can I do this on faux leather fabric?
Unfortunately I don’t think it would adhere.
@@emmanies4901 ok thank you :)
Thank You for a Great Informative Video!! Great Step -by -step Instructions for All The Prep work. Especially using the regular wood putty to fix any damage or cracks. I was not able to find any kind of repair kits or products to fix things like that. Everyone is out of stock. Great video!! Thank You
Can you use this on a faux leather chair to change the color
You do a very good job, the chair really looks like leather high end chair, very nice.👍👍💕
