Hello
Quite informative and pretty well collated. Thanks!
54:40 Bit unclear to me here, is the idle voltage drop caused by missing terminators or by having over-terminated the line?
Great content! Thank you

Hi Rajesh, off course! It is never too late to learn something new. Good luck!😀
How can one compare CAN Bus over MODBUS systems, are they the same or different in operation. Thank you for this piece. I'm a beginner
They are different protocols. As a starting point have a look at: ua-cam.com/video/lRkIdzsLiFk/v-deo.html

Many practical aspects explained here.. 👍
Hi Shashwat, we are glad that you found this video helpful. 😀
So the dip switch should be OFF when both cables are connected and should be ON if only cable connected ?
@@sareeshkm8812Yes terminator should be OFF when there are two cables (device is daisy chained within the segment) and ON if only one cable is connected (beginning or end of segment). Only exception to one cable rule is stub lines. Stub lines should not have termination ON.
@@IndustrialDataXchange Begs the question, what is a stub line?
could you pls share the presentation document, which you have used in this video...

Hi Iqbal, Thanks for watching and for your comments! We have taken note of this. ☺
Thanks, great video. I was strugling with decision for active terminators or in the connector but that is crystal clear now. Active it will be
Hi Dave, Thank you for watching! Glad it helped. ☺
Hi tnx
Hi Hamidreza, Thank you for watching! It's a pleasure. ☺
Hi Guys, just to make sure I grasped the concept correctly. Bonding in multiple points is favorable however not with 24v and below? I come the hazardous side of things where earthing is only done on one point in a loop and that is in the non hazardous area of the loop. Regarding the 24v mentioned in the video what do you recommend as a correct method for earthing. Regards Johan
Hi Johan Thanks for watching! In a PELV type DC power supply system, the 0V of the AC / DC supply is internally or externally grounded at one point (generally where the power supply is situated. This is done to allow for a fuse or MCB to trip in the event that the + line accidentally shorts to earth across the power distribution network, it is a fault protection system. With an SELV this grounding is not done and an additional fault monitoring device needs to be installed in the power supply system. The grounding suggestions, requires that in a PELV system one grounding point is acceptable, however more than one grounding point of the 0V DC line should be avoided as it can result in undesired behaviour, voltage drops, digital system failure and damage to equipment. You are welcome to send an email to info@idx.co.za if you need further assistance :)
Great Tutorial , Can you share the explanation file with us? please
