Beautiful Lens Flares (Arri DNA LF's)
I visited Arri Rental in Los Angeles and tested out the Arri DNA LFs with the Arri Alexa Mini LF. My biggest interest was in the way these lenses flared because I've seen them do magic in some of my favorite films and tv shows. Excited to rent these out one day on a project and make some movie magic.

This lens is literally my work horse. Great range and features…Is it the sharpest or most artistic lens out there? No, not by a long shot BUT it’s super fuckin practical for doc work. Great Review 🤘🏾🎥

Great lenses for sure! Actually am shooting a doc with them now and something else I’m impressed with is the close focus distances are so short. Great for verite style shooting! Fx6 pairing is also awesome

Is it parfocal?
Yes it is!
It doesn't have a backfocus adjustment so while it's close to parfocal not all copies on all days will be parfocal.

Yup I agree this lens is a powerhouse have used it on a documentary paired with the FX9 the par focal focus is great! autofocus is super fast or smooth how ever you se the camera settings. 28mm allowed me to get up close and personal paired with the full frame sensor and the 135mm gave me the ability to get close and tight when I could not use my feet to physically get closer to subjects and objects. The very grippy focus wheel and zoom wheel just felt nice and if I ever needed to pull focus manually it was so smooth and easy to do. the F4 aperture was great for me I dont care for super blurry backgrounds especially for doc work it helped me keep the world present and use it as a character as well.
Absolutely great lens for sure! I prefer zooms a lot of times and these surprised me with how good it looked and how easy it was to shoot on them because of all the features!
the 28-135. is a great doc lens - its an all in one powerhouse with the AF features.
It was great for the little doc I was shooting! Will definitely use again especially on corporate stuff!

Definitely looking forward to seeing how your mini grip truck expands and evolves. How do you like the multi folding rear lift? Using the rockin roller dolly as a makeship floppy/flag cart is ingenious! At this point if you want a real cart it would be best to just order it and wait for it to come. I don’t see inventory for dedicated grip carts getting better anytime soon. Just realized this was from a year ago. 😅 Algorithm picked this up and recommended it to me. 😁

Interesting choices! How about colour temperature - white balance? On the lights as well as the camera.
