what triggers an attack? cuz they just feel like!
Hammerheads aren’t known to attack are they?
There's an easy way to prevent shark attacks. Stay out of the water. The ocean is their domain. If you don't want to become part of the food chain, go do your swimming in a pool instead. I quit swimming in the ocean as soon as I reached the age of reason. I still go to the beach and enjoy it thoroughly, I just don't go in the water. Too many critters swimming around for me to relax and enjoy myself.
..seriously? Youre THAT distressed that u cant go in the water? Verses staying alive on the sand??
I was 14 years old when Jaws came out, I lived tight on the capecod area and it was funny, at the Beaches people were going in the water only up to their knees, ironically back then the seals weren't there, little by little the seals came back with greatwhites following right behind.
My question is he said stick together he feels something so why didn’t he get out . People amazed me they go into the ocean and think it’s safe it’s not that’s there home like land is are. When you enter the ocean you don’t know what sea creatures is stalking you looking dead at you underneath the water your legs are dangling in the water 💦 and you are bait . So it’s not why do sharks attack it’s why you in the ocean .
4:34 Are we sure this guy is Australian 🤨?
So where and when are these being used? And how susessful are they? THIS WAS FROM 8 YEARS AGO WHATS THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY?
I love the ocean and I love swimming in it. As a teen, I had no fear really and didn't even think about sharks. But now I do have a fear of the ocean when in the last year there was a long period where all over WA they were coming in extremely close to shore. Some in knee deep water. That has pot me off a fair bit.
If he had a bad feeling why in gods name did he continue the session snorkeling with 2 KIDS?!

You gotta take into consideration that some sharks might go days without food (which is rare) and at that point a shark with try to eat anything including humans and there's only one way around this.... simply stay outta the water!
If you go into water that sharks frequent please expect to meet with one, I think it's ludicrous that humans are saying it's ok to kill sharks in case they bite a human , if you don't want to be bitten DONT GO IN THE FUCCIN WATER
"Other species that have been known to attack humans are Hammerhead sharks." I'd like to see your proof on that one. There hasn't been one instance of a Hammerhead killing a person. There has been a few instances where a Hammerhead mistakenly bites someone's hand or foot thinking it's a fish or a ray but quickly realizes the mistake and swims away saying "Sorry about that. My bad".
Correct: SPECIES COMMON NAME NON-FATAL UNPROVOKED FATAL UNPROVOKED TOTAL Sphyrna spp. Hammerhead 18 0 18 Hammerhead sharks attack people typically when they are surprised or startled. For instance, this occurs when a person is spearfishing and gets mistaken for a fish. That said, these types of encounters are still rare, and hammerhead sharks generally tend to shy away from humans. Overall, exercise caution when swimming near Hammerheads and never approach them, as they can become aggressive if provoked.
Cull Great Whites, less sharks, less attacks. Stop culling, more sharks, more attacks. Commonsense. Don’t need a degree to work that out.
Australia AGAIN🙄
Why cant they eat people... Maybe they taste better then seals. Lol like a serloin compared to a ribeye
I think all big sharks over 5 ft should be put down. There is no need for them and don't use the eco system line of BS.
Scientists are underestimating sharks. If they can smell a drop of blood in the water I think they can smell the scents of their prey. They don't mistake humans for seals. They zone in on anything edible.
flake fingers and a couple of toes thanks 🤣
400 million years 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 yeah right!
I don’t know why people are surprised or shocked by seeing a shark in its natural habitat ? Just be careful as you can !
Couldn’t pay me to swim Australian waters
What a stupid cunt " we're in the water and I've got a bad feeling". Just shows how stupid society is. The shark should've killed the cunt.
Baby shark Da do da do dada Baby shark
Stop sensationalising shark attacks for a start. Second the bloody seals and food sources have definitely got some affect on where sharks congregate! There's never any discussion about commercial fishing and fish sticks along with seal colonies relationships! Sharks bite things if they think it could be food. Tinder sharks a notorious at biting and eating everything they can get there mouths around. So saying we are going to stop natural behaviour is BS. Accept the sharks are there and yes keep studying the sharks and their food sources. If there was huge money in this the police would have a camera out there to give tickets to the sharks! My point is tgat drones with AI software and super camera could identify sharks in the area of peak activity at beaches like coteslow... Spelling wrong. Interaction with all ocean life should be give and take with care for the ocean environment not just greed.
We will not easily deter apex predators such as sharks, bears and big cats. Hunger drives their instincts and it's not easily deterred.
The only good Great White shark is a dead one.
I have an idea. Create a new type of wetsuit using metal spheres, making it impervious to full penetration of a shark's bite. Start by using two layers of fabric and inside, cover with half shaped one inch or smaller, metallic balls sewn into the fabric. So you end up with a wet suit that can be designed to be various in weight, and difficult to bit through. Maybe use titanium to create the half shaped balls.
We should never be interfering with nature!
Rich tasty swimmers?
Start fishing that’s the answer too many who cares if some scientists lose their jobs your food in the water.
Buy this man a letter "R."
Minor point, but to people around the area, Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard are completely different and the latter is where the movie was made
Brain size makes no difference, It's the amount of neurons in the brain that determines intelligence. I would like to know how many neurons GW's have.
I'd hate to be the guy in the striped dive suit if they are wrong!
I dont get where people think we have some agreement with nature, so we are off the menu.
A hundred years from now and a hundred studies later there will still be no reliable answers and no way to avoid shark attacks short of staying off their dining table. It is pure instinct and I think that will never be understood.
Maybe using the sound of orcas will work. Even Great White Sharks won’t mess with them.
Strobe disturbance visual.
An electro disturbance field
Don’t go into the water is the ultimate answer.
Shape recognition due to colour blindness,, could even be size and movement recognition.
The sharks say " If humans are found in the close proximity of us , the humans may be culled".. Humans belong on land, sharks belong in the sea. It is us that are encroaching on the sharks habitat , no one forces anyone to swim in the sea.
CULL
“First episode” 7 years and no second episode 🤔?
Why do sharks attack humans? We fit in their mouths. No PhD needed here.
Hopefully y’all realize that if White Pointers wanted to eat all of us there would be about 50 deaths per day every day
speakers playing orca sounds should do the trick i think
An easy solution, get Tash Peterson to educate these sharks.
