I wish this was longer.
Mesmerizing A+
Cleeeeaaaaan!!!! What kind of lens did you use?
Did you crop it to 16:9?
S16 converted bolex so the gate size is similar to 16:9
@@jeremybelack Ok, so it was 1.66:1
Did you use a film print or is this just the negative?
@@berlinbluestar Not sure of the exact ratio but should be 1.66:1. I crop in to 16:9 from an Overscan. Not a huge fan of showing the sprockets.
Great film and that sound design is incredible!!!!
impressive
This has to be some CGI its too perfect 😭
Amazing shoots...
which FD lenses would you recommend? and do you need to convert the aperture on an FD lens and factor in the crop of the 16mm film size or no? aka when metering, f2.8 on FD = f/2.8
A 25mm FD lens will be around a 50mm equivalent on 16mm film size. In terms of the f stop you may lose 1/3 of a stop from what the lense is saying through the prism. RX lenses will have this 1/3 built into what the lens is telling you. I actually don’t use FD lenses anymore with my bolex only the kern switars rx lenses
Fantastic work! And with sound collected! Great job.
What did you use to capture the sound?
I used sound design from the internet to give it the ambience
😍
nice video, bravo. I'm curious, how did you get this format ? Is your Bolex modified ? Thank you and again this is beautiful !
It is modified for Super 16
@@jeremybelack thank you !
I can dig it, life long runner here. Saw this and makes me want to give a shout out to Billy Mills, a member of the Oglala Lakota tribe, grew up on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in remote southwest South Dakota, surged down the stretch to win the 10,000-meter run at the Tokyo 1964 Olympics.
my favorite bolex film so far. the ambient sound bro, ugh so good.
how did you get it without any light leaks? wow!!!
I tape all the creases!
genius!@@jeremybelack
ahh genius!! do you just use gaff tape? @@jeremybelack
Looks so nice!
50d looks great!Where did you scan this and what resolution?
Scans from Spectra in LA. 4k
@@jeremybelack ohh so on their scanity? Nice!
How did you record sound sir? I tried but I always hear the bolex
I didn’t. It was all sound design added later
Gorgeous.
Are these lenses anamorphic or spherical?
Spherical
This is incredible
omg! the greens and colors are soooo vivid! Cleanest bolex footage i've ever seen! Where did you process and develop and in what resolution/settings?
Thank you. Went through xray scan in South Korea lol and Process/Scan at Spectra in LA. 4K 24fps. The lenses I rented is what made it so clean.
Nice!
It looks like a movie from 80’s, beautiful !!!
Great footage!
very nice...incredible how film still beats most modern digital sensors today ..
beautiful small scene i loved the motion and framing of some of the shots especially the close up of the 3 guys raking sand with the sunset
Great. I am living there, and waiting my 16mm camera.
lovely.
This is so beautiful
Beautiful !!
Amazing!!!
Very cool!
So so nice Jeremy! Beautiful frames
Cleanest footage I've seen shot on a Bolex!
Beautiful footage! Thank you for not overlaying a terrible song. The raw audio makes this even more special.
appreciate that! I had a friend do some basic sound design to make it feel more natural
@@jeremybelack He added all these sound including flame thrower???
yes@@sebastian3004

Wow. Awe inspiring footage. Feels timeless. The music and the foley sounds set it off beautifully.
This is literally a masterpiece I’m GEEKING BRO

Unbelievable
This is the cleanest footage I've seen come out of these cameras. Looks amazing!
Thank you Daniel. The condition of the lenses were amazing. I was surprised how clean it all came out.
Indeed
how are you so steady with it 😮 was there post process stabilization or were you on a tripod? amazing footage!
Tripod and some stabilization for handheld
This is badass. I love everything about it!
