Today, we're gonna take a look at your loose ends! A look at things that can come loose and you really should be checking them regularly. I've had my fair share of things getting damaged or malfunctioning simply because I hadn't properly checked and tightened certain parts, whether it's guitar, pedal or amp parts. And this video will help you avoid those problems with a simple regular checkup.

I really like boss pedals but for this one.. the Ibanez by tko
Will Lemon Oil be safe for Guitar Strings? Its still just an oil after all.. 🤔
....in what.....in what? Platinum? I don't get it.
the soft switch argument for the looper is fairly compelling.
Played in mostly classic rock bands and a few progressive rock bands, I’ve tried many different speakers and none sound as good as the golds, I get everything I’m looking for in tone, I’m using a 50 watt plexi that’s been modified with the Jose mod, the only way to describe it is juicy.
I think you should have used or not used the pick on all 3 examples - the clarity you get with the pick in the CE1 examples makes it jump out from the three for me! But was happy with the Ibanez until then, I don't think you could go wrong with it at that price.
I hate my Ditto
Awesome content! Tube reverbs and reverb units are such a fascinating area. I recently made and uploaded a video featuring my AMT TH-1 pedal (AMT Tube Hall). It might not be all analog or a true unit, but I still love its sound. Combining it with a phaser creates an incredible effect.
IS NOT A PHASER EFFECT AS THE LIVE VERSION?
After hearing the bad tone of the intro I decided it wasn't worth wasting time watching your video..............
Wow, awesome! So many views also :)))
Surfy Bear manufactures crap, maybe good for a boat anchor.
This is as thorough and as honest of a tank review as anyone could hope to see. Bravo.
Can I make my freeze pedal (electro-Harmonix) powered by a 9v battery???
This is an excellent video that covers great information thoroughly. And I have another method that should work for most if not all pedals. Set a knob exactly where you want it. Very carefully remove the knob taking care not to turn the post. Then carefully slide the knob back on the post with the indicator pointing straight to 12:00 o'clock. Tighten any set screws. Once you done this to all pedals, you won't need to worry with preventing accidental turning during transport. And you'll immediately see any pedal bumped out of adjustment while performing. Simply and quickly verify all knobs are at 12 o'clock during gig setup. It's quick and easy. Plus, you can easily put the knobs back to standard position on the post any time you desire.
Surfy Bear Industries makes a couple true spring reverbs based on the G15 circuit which perform comparably, cost less, are more compact and less fragile than the Fender tube reverb. They're viable alternatives to true Fender reverbs, and are favored by many modern surf-rock guitar players.
Has anyone ever opened a brand new pack of strings and seen gunk already on them? My G B and E had black crap all along them
They really need to build these in a 4 OHM version.
I made a mistake and did it wrong, now I can start over. That was very hard to say 🤔🙄
It's also very deep in size and might be too big for smaller cabs.
what if I want to make the footswitch shiny again, moisture and dirt has ruined it
Ditto... If it WORKS! 😡
I'm going to be building a tweed amp. Debating between golds and jensen p12n...
In my experience Boogies have so many tone controls..so you may never realize that ALL of them suck until you try some really great amps.
Like what?
I have several amps, my conclusion is there is no swiss army amp, each amp/cab has it's own sound. They tend to do one or two things great but I can't imagine trying to do everything I want out of one amp. I have vintage Marshall and Gibson amps, I used to have a few Boogies, some of them didn't sound so bad, but they kept experimenting with the circuits constantly. So, when it comes to a Boogie, I wouldn't buy one unless I tried it out in person. Don't mean to Boogie bash but some of them were really overrated like the "simulclass" fully loaded Mark III I bought brand new about 1986. I've had Mark IIs and some rare early Mark Is. It was a hot rodded Marshall from '72 which really convinced me that Boogie was not the best at the high gain game. I like and own several 100 watt Jet City heads, for the money they can't be beat, too bad they quit making them except for the 20 watters..they are great for Joe Satriani type high gain (who used Soldanos). BTW just scored a Celestion gold speaker but have not yet installed it in my combo, soon I'll have my own opinion of what the speaker sounds like, and I think that is the only way, I appreciate the time and work done to make videos but the sound is lost because it's not your guitar, your room, your amp and your playing. There is "feel" the way it responds or fights you, and that can't be judged by watching a video. @@jdl2180
@@zzubuzz Boogie is a hot rodded fender, not a Marshall. Sound is subjective because the cheap jet city to my ears was not very good at all. I have a soldano, engl, marshall, boogies, Evh 5150 fender made, orange 120 crush, ada mp1, kitty hawk, hughes kettner, etc.... they all sound different, some may like them, some may not, sound is subjective, but one thing i can tell you i have all the mark series amps, like them or not, one thing they all have is a ton of gain. you just have to know how to work all those knobs.
thats a johnny hiland prs!!!!!
So its a 16th-note triplet instead of an even 16th note for slapback?? Is every fill noise with delay going to sound better as triplets?
the ibanez mini SLAPS on bass
I would be grateful for the name of the song please!!! very beautiful!
Which string cleaner is recommended?
Very good contrast & comparison!
THanks for mentioning the Red fang
Or just clean them every time with micro fiber cloth.
Have you tried an Emminence V128 (ceramic) ? I did when I had to hook up a 15watt Orange AD15 combo when the 10" was knackered, I wanted to stuff it in the AD15 but built Simple cab and screwed the V128 into it. It bloomed after about 3 months, 335, Esquire, 60s Strat, all had a similar "mid" to the Alnico and no top-end fizzle/klankyness. Try one if you get a chance. The other "less" expensive alnicos are the new Jensens ,P10r,P12Q which I can attest to being a very good choice for 15-40 watt Fender style amps. I still want to try this Celestion though.
I love that my oldest has started playing but damn he just doesn't understand absolutely clean hands, absolutely every time you pick it up! lol, and that's why I am here now..
Very nice clean sound!
The band on your shirt sucks ! Commie!
thank you for the vid. I'm unsure about the Bbmaj7, the A string in the chord map is open but your bar finger appears to have contact with the A string on the 6th fret. Have you got some tricky dampening going on there ? I'm only on acoustic so that could be a thing.
pro tip: use WD-40.
Kinda carcinogenic due to the benzene, maybe a natural oil?
Wow thank you!
Im considering the Boss because the switch is covered. I had a Ditto and the switch failed Im assuming from dust/ dirt getting in.
I've heard alcohol is a good way to clean strings, but I wonder if alcohol that may get on the fretboard will suck the moisture out of it. Any thoughts?
Alcohol and wood don't really mix well in the long run. I checked guitar cleaners and they're pretty much just overpriced old mineral oil, but that one should work great, getting the quantity right might be tricky at first tho.
@@necrisro Thanks!
I find those tiny knobs terrible because when I play live, I often turn knobs with my feet. I like your videos, so I subscribed.
Bought mine in 2015 and noticed they put a black Korean reverb tank in it ??? Really Fender ??
By that point, Accutronics had been bought out by Belton, who moved production overseas...you could always try to track down an older US made tank with the same specs, did that with a blues jr with great results
use tape, mark the tape not your pedal
Why spend money on name branded, marked up for profit, minuscule portions, of basically mineral oil with lemon or other scents that are called 'formulated'? Guitar companies already jam you with their pricing. They should give that stuff away. Every search on the internet provides the same copied and pasted answer. Oil of any kind will attract dirt. Period. Slippery for a while then sticky again. Alcohol dries, solvents need to be rinsed off and can't touch your guitar. Boiling, meh. Half-arsed at best. Most effective no cost method is washing your hands before playing and just wipe them down after every use. An Ultrasonic cleaner is by far the best method. Classical strings cost $20 CAD so 5 sets pays for a cleaner. Electric are still affordable but acoustic/mandolin/bass strings can get really pricey. Plus the ultrasonic cleaner can be used for tons of items from harps, guitar parts, brass and woodwind mouthpieces also bike parts, electronics, jewellery.
Boss wins for being stereo alone. Plus it's more durable. It's true; they're tanks.
Since you didn't mention it, rubber and vinyl restorer works well for making the rubber pads on pedals look new again or at least significantly better.
He used Kiss method :) Awesome tips.
And that's it, your string will be broken.
Good info👍🏼what’s that big blue knob with the lion icon on your Shiba Drive pedal? :)
