Hey Boipelo, hope you're well...I hope you don't mind me asking, I'd like to find out if your contracts are annual in Hong Kong...if my memory serves me correctly, you're with Eureka, right? If so, are the contracts annual and what are the chances of renewal? Are teachers hired directly by the schools?

Hi,the contracts are annual.The renewal all depends on you.If you like your school and they like you back then you can stay with them.However you can still decide to stay with the agency and change schools.The agency will schedule a meeting towards the end of the school year to discuss everything with regards to the contract.

Yes!! They won’t even consider you if you don’t have a degree from a good university
@@kads8612 really? 😭 i applied for a working holiday visa so i won’t need visa sponsorship and i did the TEFL 120 hours, but i don't have my degree yet. do you know of anyone who was able to get a teaching job with no degree?
@@lovwe1490 I’m sorry but it’s impossible to get a good teaching job or any good job without a degree. Hong Kong is an extremely competitive place, you need to be the best to get the best 🥲 May I know where you’re from and what you’re studying?
@@kads8612 I’m from london and studying graphic design, but i’m still at uni, i didn’t think a degree was necessary at the minute because i’m on working holiday visa, i don’t need a visa sponsorship as i’m here for a year and my visa allows me to take up full time employment for my time here
@@lovwe1490 I’m sorry if this question offends you but are you white? 😅 if you’re white then you have a good chance of being hired by local education centers. I can’t guarantee a full time job with them but you can definitely get hired for part time. At the end of the day, it depends on your luck too. Have faith and go with the flow 😆 I recently graduated with a BA degree from a local university here in HK but all the employers who have interviewed me wanted extra teachers training and qualifications 💀 I’ll have to study for one more year it seems 🙄 good luck to you though!!
