This is the worst advice that you can give to anybody in the world. If the cop has legitimate reason for approaching you, then yes, you should do what you need to do and abide by them when they have authority over you. The problem is that a lot of times cops do not have any authority over you in that exact situation they can make any sort of demands to you, you can still choose to be respectful which is certainly the best course of action, but if they're infringing on your rights or being rude to you, fuck them.

Also, make sure you never get filmed with an extremely embarrassing mullet.
