Too much lube will make a lot of smoke when you shoot, but I think that's the worst that will happen.

Ignore the tards in the comment section talking "you're over lubing it 🤓" I've ran (mostly) the same AR for 20 years and always lubed it by just sprayin the shit out of it. Never once had an issue cuz of the fuckin lube 😂😂😂

That's the worst way to do it. Too much lube on the bolt face WILL cause a particular extraction issue in ar15s. Lube everything else like crazy EXCEPT the bolt face.
As far as I'm aware, it ain't gonna hurt it. The rifle will just burn off any excess lube when you go to use it
I can't remember when I last lubed my AK. I think 2 or 3 cleanings ago. I really don't clean it that often. I will have to now, because that last batch of ammo is corrosive.
Idk about the AK platform, but with the AR platform, it's possible to kill the riffle by cleaning it too much
@@TheSGTQuack AK's tend to do just fine with lower maintenance then an AR. They might take over maintenance better too! lol Last batch of ammo I picked up is corrosive, so I have to do some cleaning now.
@traviscochran6280 can definitely say most people "over" maintenance their ARs. But for the most part if an AR is built to standard, i mean per military doctrine. Then it should hold up just as well as an AK. Now maybe I'm just biased because I've been to an AR armor class and love the platform 🤣
@@TheSGTQuack Yeah, the AR is a lot tougher than most give credit. They do a better job keeping out mud than an AK. AR's tend to need more lubrication and cleaning, but not an insane amount. In cold weather use it's a good idea to make sure an AK doesn't have lubrication to gum up the rails. If you have corrosive ammo, not likely for an AR or M16/M4 but almost a given with com-bloc ammo, you have to clean the AK.
@traviscochran6280 Absolutely! Modern ARs can handle getting dirty. Now you talking the original m16, that thing hated dirt. Smallest amount of dirty would make it not cycle
I dont suggest over lubing. It Can cause more problems then one would expect. Take the time to disassemble the rifle/handgun and lube the worn sections of said part.
I can't speak on handguns or other platforms, but the AR platform will be just fine. It'll burn off any excess

Gun oil attracts dust and dirt, so actually overdoing it can gunk the gun up faster. Just sayin.
If your battle riffle is built to spec, it'll be fine. I specify battle riffle because if your riffle is a competition gun or meant for precision, then yes, having a specific lube and being a little more gentle with it is the way to go
I just put lub all over the bolt carrier group in rub it around with my hands. Any extra loop that's not needed usually burns off

Just bought it a week ago. mags are from the Army and have thousands of rounds through them lol
Not your mag, play with the gas block, make very small adjustments until the problem is solved. Also check the gas tube, make sure it’s not bloated where it connects to your bolt carrier. Most modern mags, even cheap ones aren’t gonna cause a constant issue like that. You’re probably just not getting enough pressure back down your tube, if it causes your bolt to not go back enough (even a fracture of a millimeter) it’s enough to eject but not pick up your next round.
That's what I was thinking, I cut it out for time reasons. I will still switch the mag out in hopes it is that easy since they are mags I "borrowed" from the army and have thousands of rounds through them, but I am almost sure you are right, and it is a gas issue
