Reaching Japan - Missionaries in Nagoya, Japan
United States
Приєднався 29 лип 2018
We are Christian missionaries in Japan. Reaching Japan is a church-planting ministry working to plant churches in urban Japan.
Current goal: 16 churches by 2030.
In order to reach Japan, people must hear the Gospel, and the most biblical way to do that is by starting new churches.
We add content to help current and aspiring missionaries to Japan.

Japan up close: Inside the Largest Shinto Shrine in Nagoya Japan during New Years #Japan
Japanese people often crowd to the shrines during the New Year holiday.
Many say visiting shrines and temple is merely a custom and not Japanese religion. But is there more to the shrines than just the festivities?
Step into Nagoya's largest shrine the Atsuta Jingu with James. We unpack what really happens and what people really do at the shrines during the New Year holiday in Japan.

Hi! We are missionaries in Nagoya Japan. As church planters, we believe God has led us to start 16 churches in this city by 2030. This video goes into a little bit about our background, what we do as missionaries, and our current goals for the work in Nagoya, Japan. We are Baptist by background, but work with a variety of people as we seek to get the Gospel out to people who have never heard. W...

We asked a bunch of people in Japan how they view Christianity and some other questions. Here are there responses. For those who don't know Japanese history, Francis Xavier was a catholic missionary who originally introduced "Christianity" to Japan. Commodore Matthew Perry was the man commissioned by the U.S. who sailed to Japan in his "Black Ship" to open up Japan's ports for trade. #jesus #ja...
Contemporary Japanese culture: shifts & rifts and what it means for the future of ministry
Переглядів 1774 місяці тому
In this seminar, we dive into the cultural changes happening in Japan, drawing parallels between the generational shifts we've seen in the United States. Just like how Baby Boomer or Gen X culture differs drastically from Gen Z and Gen Alpha in America, Japan is experiencing a similar transformation. If we continue to use outdated paradigms to describe the current state of Japan, we'll miss the...

Переглядів 2316 місяців тому
This video is from a recent LIVE we did where we walked through what it looks like to pass out flyers as we promote our Bible seminar in Nagoya, Japan. As Church planters, we do a variety of things to get the word out and create opportunities for people to hear the Gospel. In Japan, you can legally put flyers in people's mailboxes (with some exceptions). This video will talk through some of tho...

Praying for Japan.
Thank you for such an informative video! It really is so surprising to see the “non religious” Japanese doing this traditional ritual and yet saying they aren’t religious. Almost like the apposite of America where it may be they are “religious” or “Christian” but only go to church or recognize God on the holidays. Thank you James!
Nice video James! I’m working at an International church in Tsukuba, Ibaraki as an intern, with my wife. We feel called to be missionaries in Japan and your videos have been very helpful for me in understanding more about the Japanese perspective and spiritual climate. You have been very encouraging!
Glad to hear our stuff has been helpful for you!
I find that the answer to the "ancestor problem" (what about my ancestors?) is the grandchildren solution. What about your grandchildren? If you don't make peace with God, chances are your grandchildren will not either. You can set them free now.
What is the spiritual feeling like there? I imagine it is intensely dark.
Thank you for sharing. I learned a lot.
Awesome thanks! Would be awesome to have more resources about Japanese Christian History. If you can send me links or resources would be awesome.
One of the most definitive works on Christian history in Japan is History of Christianity in Japan: Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox, and Protestant Missions by Otis Carey. You can find it on Amazon. It is an older work, but pretty comprehensive
Pastor James, where can i attend English church service in Nagayo?
Greetings from Williamson Baptist Association in Marion, Illinois
Good perspective. I like your comment that you bring yourself to the mission field.
Thanks
Thank you for this video. Hopefully God will lead me to Japan in the future as He’s promised 🙏🏻
❤
I'm wondering how you became a Christian, Mr. Myashita

I think it's neat that it's legal to put flyers in people's mailboxes and pass out thousands of them and can even pay to have a company do it for you too. Wow!
Wow! That's a lot of apartments!

Praying for your ministry, brother. Can you do a video on how to share the gospel in Japanese for those of us learning with the hopes of doing missions work there?
We'll definitely keep that idea in mind!
How can I join? I speak a little bit of Japanese.
Just to clarify, do you mean join the church or join the work?
@@ReachingJapan join the mission when I get there in Japan.
Thank you so much for posting these videos. I'm learning a lot from them. Great to talk more specific about things then always having to make broad generalizations.
Thanks for sharing. Great info.
