Ogg-It Bradley Smoker Bisquettes Press / Free Build Plans
With the price of Bradley Smoker Bisquettes tripling during COVID we were determined to build our own Bisquette Press. Several websites and videos provide a lot of information, instruction, and inspiration but after struggling to find any plans online, we thought we would share our own. This video follows the build process. Fun Father-Son project, we hope you enjoy!

Ogg-It Hydro Sausage Stuffer / Free Build Plans
Переглядів 27 тис.3 роки тому
We were looking to make some large batches of sausage; however, we lacked a large stuffer. We liked the ease of use of a Hydro Stuffer and after struggling to find any plans online, we thought we would share our own. This video follows the build process. You clearly took these steps from my write-up on Bradley's web site. You even used the hole saws and stainless steel discs that I linked years ago. Btw, you can't just add various amounts of starch. Too much and they become too hard to burn properly.
If you're the originator of the hole saw / discs used you'll find several other online references stating the same information, I do not recall the source; however, if you "need" credit please provide the link to your post. This contribution is the build of the press (without using a welder) along with a formal build plan and guidance for viewers to build from, no attribution required.
@@ogg-it My message wasn't meant to be accusational. Sorry about that. I made these plans back in 2014, quite a long time ago. They became so popular that Bradley would consistently take my post and photos down. From the potato starch, to the exact amounts, to the hole-saws brand and sizes, the stainless steel disc's and the ebay seller who I hired to originally make them, down to who to get sawdust from (Butcher and Packer) It was quite the write-up. My only mistake was that I didn't make a video. Ha ha. No worries on credit. It was under Tickle The Ivories at Bradley smoker forums if you want to find it. I'm tempted to veer away from Bradley, because at this point in my life, it's become pain to make them. Btw, a tip that I never added, is that you can use any kind of food oil to put on the disc's and side walls of the hole-saws every several biscuits. It makes them slide out much easier. You just apply with a paper towel or a brush. Cheers.
do yall have these for sale ?
Yes, I recently completed a build $175, plus shipping.
Wow!
Now you can make sausage while you do dishes!
Thank you very much OGG-IT; SIR for shared this v d o , a lot of work, but when time to casing sausage it is very easy, and my question are ; do you use water or you use air to press, please share , thank again 🙏👍👍❤.
You're welcome! I currently only use it with water, but using compressed air has come to mind. I would think that it would be best to install a regulator in both directions for a finer level of control of the piston speed. Good luck!
The thermostat control of my analog bradley burnt out and they do not sell replacement switch parts so it's basically useless now
There are ways to bypass the dial thermostat on You Tube. I upgraded to a 900w element (from the 500W) and added a digital thermostat.
Can you email plans please ?
The link to the free build plans are in video description; however, I do not see an email associated to your profile.
Yoooo I was so thinking about this I had bought a bag of pellets from home Depot not realizing that my smoker that I got on a discount needs these Patty shape pellets for smoking thank you for making this video
This looks absolutely awesome! Any chance you would be able to share the file you used for the CNC cutting?
Specific dimensions are in the linked plans, but you can give this a try easel.inventables.com/projects/xLFG2VsDYAVZG6jfzZJCtQ
Great, give the amounts for everything but the wood. Seriously, does anyone proofread anymore!
@5:30 for those that can read
Wtf?! Lol ingenious!
great idea, thanks for sharing. I have made a few stainless rings and lay them on the shoot and fill with pellets, sure i only get 45 mins but i never leave mine unattended anyway. Im not sure where i could find the shavings like you showed. Also the A-Maze-N tube works amazing too.
Thank u very much I was sooooo surprised at the cost.
The final in an email chain of disappointment with Bradley After applying a lubricant/rust dissolver to the screw I was unable to remove it. The screw slots gave out. Now the screw head must be ground off. At this point I do not have enough screws to fully reassemble the bisquette heater. When I spoke to Olev and asked him what the dimensions were for those screws his answer was that he would have to research that for me, and he would let me know. I have not heard from him. The local big box and hardware stores carry nothing identical. The choices there are either slightly too large or too small, and in that small size only Imperial is available here. I think the dimensions must be Metric and I need those dimensions in order to purchase replacements online. I am going to order stainless steel screws and replace all the rusted screws in the P10, which is almost all of them. Please, at least give me the correct screw dimensions. In the picture below you can see that the bracket holding the heating wires is badly corroded. I understand you will not replace the entire heater assembly, but would you at least replace that part? I am going to fully disassemble the bisquette heater, grind off all the rust, and repaint it with a heat tolerant rust resistant coating. I’m also going to examine the drip pan to try and understand how drippings got inside that heater in the first place since it is unreasonable to have to disassemble that part of the P10 to clean up what should not be there. That concludes my request for help, and my information for you regarding repair of this unit. MESSAGE FROM A VERY DISSAPOINTED CUSTOMER I have used Bradley smokers for over 40 years. My first was an aluminum model that eventually had to be replaced. I’ve purchased several to give as gifts to others. I am as loyal and long term a customer as Bradley could hope to have. The treatment I have received from support has been unpleasant. I’ve been accused of mistreating my P10 by support, then later had Olev confirm the screws were a bad choice that will be replaced. Now I’ve been accused of not properly caring for my P10 because I did not disassemble the heater to clean it. That procedure is not called for in your manual and should not be needed. I will never again purchase a product from Bradley. Not because my P10 has problems, but because Bradley support tries to blame the product problems on me, and refuses to acknowledge and replace that which is faulty. My entire interaction with Bradley has been fully documented in pictures and email. Take a moment to examine my UA-cam page and the videos I have there. They are detailed and have good reviews. I will be adding a detailed review of my experience with the P10, showing the rust throughout, the magnets sticking to what is claimed to be stainless steel, and the emails from support trying to blame me for those defects. Although my videos only get a up to 40,000 views, there is not much on UA-cam discussing the P10, so I expect my video will be easy to find if people research the P10 prior to purchase. Because you are not going to correct the deficiencies in your product I am going to alert prospective customers to them. Most disturbing to me is that Bradley intends to keep shipping P10s with steel screws until November when the first run of P10s with stainless screws is expected. Are you planning to send everyone a set of new screws and tell them to replace them. Such would be a good policy for those of us who already have our P10s, but shipping out units with steel screws when you could easily procure and replace the screws in your inventory units is just unethical. Like rust, the rot in a company comes from the top and works its way in. It saddens me that Wade Bradley has so little interest in his customers that he has chosen not to engage with me when I asked courteously that he do so. Leaders who shield themselves from disappointed customers, hide behind low tier technical support and refuse to acknowledge product deficiencies eventually pay the price. Word gets out, sales drop off and they no long have a company to lead. Good luck Wade, that is where you are taking Bradley. Como eu faço pra comprar??
#1 reason im considering ditching the Bradley is these are so expensive now and hardly any stores carry them. I love the flavor of the Bradley but its frustrating
Genus
Just me, but seems grinding sawdust will eat up blender pretty quick. That will cost more than just buying biscuits. You could accomplish same thing by buying a bag of pellets and getting them wet. They turn into fine saw dust. Drying may take a little longer, but I have wet 20# bag right now that looks like his finished product after blender.
Good will $2 blender all day
What was total cost per disc vs buying them?
I recall the math being ~4 cents per disc vs. 40 cents per disk when purchased.
@@ogg-it lots of time but who cares with savings like that I’ve always stuck to my Weber 22. And I got a pellet smoker..... I’d like to get a vertical smoker but man. Charcoal getting crazy in price as well
Do we need this? Yes, big time, when some one raises a price by over 300% in one year, are you kidding me? " It's the cost of the ink"!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like my Bradley smoker and love the product it puts out. But my cost to smoke my pork butts went from $4.27 to $13.50 each smoke- that's about the cost of the meat! Thank you- Thank you great information and very timely !!!!
Yeah the costs are brutal now. Its really a joke. I think its just because pellet smokers have flooded the market and no one uses these anymore. I still love it but its just so much money per smoke
Can you show me how to retrieve the piston to reload? Thank you
Yep, shut off the main water supply and open the drain. As the water drains, the vacuum it generates behind the piston will pull it back to the starting position. I typically hurry it along by pushing the piston back manually as well. I've seen some modifications where people add a small water pump to speed things up as well. Good luck.
The red orings you use where they #341 or #342? Because I so another video and that guy use 342, thank you for sharing a great detailed video
I used #341 instead of #342. I used the depth of the cut on the piston to determine the fit. I was concerned that #342 would be just a touch to large and end up pinching (i.e. cutting) the rubber when inserting into the main body. I had both sizes on hand, and likely either will work, but the fit was better using the #341 size. Good luck!
@@ogg-it thank you for your quick reply and thank you for listing where to get the materials
@@ogg-it the main pipe is 2 feet long by 4 inch correct? How many pounds of ground meat does it hold at one time? Thank you
@@nickvitobovino3486 Correct; however, the length is entirely variable, I get about 7 lb of ground meat with this length of pipe.
Do we need this… no. Actually after thinking more.. yes we absolutely need this
Perfect👍
Thank you for posting this! This has been exactly what I’ve been looking for for years!
How much time have you spent on this project? Would you consider producing and selling one? Given the price you mentioned it would save money for those who's interested in it even with a mark up.
The time to complete the physical build is reasonable; however, the design, documentation, and video was the bulk of the effort. As far as selling one, we wanted to contribute the design / build process here to allow individuals to make improvements and or modifications and we're eager to spend our efforts to find even more projects to share.
How much did it all cost?
Depends a lot on your ability to source components locally to avoid shipping, but $100 would be a good ballpark for this build; however, this can be sized to your desired specification just by increasing the length of the main body. The price delta between 2ft and 10 ft of 4" PVC pipe is about an additional $5 - (give or take). Hope that helps.
