    The button keeps the PTO engaged while you're in reverse. You only have to hold the button long enough to get going in reverse, and then you can let go of it.

    How did you determine how much oil your household uses daily and what do you keep your heat on during the different seasons or weather?

    • @mrbackyardmechanic3956
      @mrbackyardmechanic3956 5 місяців тому

      I have the heat start at 5:30am to 70 degrees, that's when we get up. Then at 7:00 AM it goes to 68 degrees. Then it goes to 70 again at 2:30 pm. Then 68 at 6 PM then 66 at 10PM until 5:30 AM. My boiler has a .75 GPH (3/4 of a gallon) nozzle. Google nest tells me how many hours the heat kicked on for, but that doesn't mean the boiler was on the whole time. For instance, on March 16th, our heat only ran for one hour. So, we likely used about 1/2 gallon for heat. Our hot water also uses oil. That's about 1/2 gallon because everyone turns the bathroom into a steam room while taking a shower. These are only estimates, probably +/- 20 %.

    I really don’t see how that’s the case. Under the yellow float is a little arrow and that indicates where the level is. I have two tanks tied together and the top of the float was just slightly under a half yet it took 366 gallons out of 550 to fill. If the top of the float was the mark then I should have only filled 275 max. Also when the tanks are full then the little arrow is at the full mark and the top of the float is at the top of the tube.

      @mrbackyardmechanic3956 8 місяців тому

      Thanks for the comment. Just went down to take a look closer at my gauge. I don't see any arrows. Perhaps you have a newer gauge? I've been on auto delivery for several years now, but it's good to know how much oil one has, although I'm sure not 100% accurate.

    Did you plan on the water staying at the top of the hill when you purchased?

    • @mrbackyardmechanic3956
      @mrbackyardmechanic3956 8 місяців тому

      To just be honest. we now get storms creating 1,2, 3 inches of water. For every 1 inch of water, based on the square footage of his roof and the square footage of the patio pitched toward a french drain draining into the 4" pipe on the left, I get 2,157 gallons of water. i didn't expect that when we purchased. That water does not soak into the ground.

    It's illegal to put anything on a neighbors property including water. Literally if they intentionally do it it's illegal.

  • @Nate-ld7zj
    @Nate-ld7zj 9 місяців тому

    It sucks but I don’t think it’s illegal, as long as the pipes don’t terminate on your property, since all he’s doing is dumping the water towards the edge of his property then it flows downhill. Like another comment mentioned you could see if he would split the cost to run the pipe longer away from your property, but I don’t see anyone paying the whole cost or paying to rerun it to the front of his property when it doesn’t affect him, unless he is just a really good neighbor

    If the ground is naturally lower on your property than his property, then yes, it is legal to drain water toward. Talk to your neighbor to see if he would be willing to split the cost to run a 4" perforated underdrain from his pipes and your low area that collects water down to a lower spot on your hillside. Totally. I bought a grill at Home Depot & they said we can put it together for you. Ok great. I went back to get it a couple of days later - no grill. Ok they’ll get on it. Ok good. Go back another few days later - ok grill is put together - it’s the wrong grill. Ok we’ll fix this. Finally after about 2 weeks it was done & the correct one. The guys they hire don’t get paid that much so they don’t care. After the product is picked up - Home Depot doesn’t care either.
