Welcome to Homeschool Teens with Jenny!
Thank you so much for sharing this. It is very helpful to see ideas on how to keep records and how to organize it all 😊
You are back! ❤❤😊😊
Yes, I'm back for our high school journey :)
I have a question. Is this Christian? I am a Christian and I want my teen’s science curriculum to be Christian, and mention God.
They do have a Christian version and a secular version. We used the Christian version.
I like how you are skipping the reading comprehension section of worldly wise. I think the more “questionable” content starts at 10th grade, so I might do that one we hit the 10th book.
SL 100 is a BEAST! It took us 18 months to finish and that's after I cut stuff. It's wonderful but a lot!
I've heard that.... we're actually doing SL 430, just the American Lit portion, not the history.
@@homeschoolteenswithjenny can't wait to hear your thoughts. That's what we have next year
So glad to hear your update! We are reading the climate change book in the evenings right now and I love it!
Curious to hear how it goes with the study course and the Tuttle Twins . I like your plan with Wordly Wise- I think I'll use your method! Sounds like a challenging but rewarding week!
@@valleyhavenfamilyschool8951 these weeks make you appreciate the smooth ones when they come :)
I love Dr. Pepper. I try to only have it a couple of times a month. My other favorite treat drink is blueberry green tea from HTeaO.😊
@@kellireadsalot I haven’t heard of that brand but I love green tea!!!!
Loved seeing your bookshelves. I let my kids read twaddle for fun too. My cozy mystery reading habit shows that I read some twaddle too. I mean, I read Russian literature, but give me some twaddle as a pallet cleanser. 😂
@@kellireadsalot exactly 👍🏻
I absolutely love that you can do chemistry with friends.. I wish I could pair Ethan up with someone like that to do biology🤪
Glad you’re going before us to remind me of all the things!❤😊
So excited to see your update on your first week! You're off to a great start! 🎉 I really LOVED all you shared about SL Am Lit, as we'll be doing that soon (starting in a few weeks, actually). Great advice to read those notes in the guide. So fun that you're doing this WITH your son. We plan to do this together, too. I think it'll help in being able to discuss the concepts and gain a deeper understanding...for BOTH of us! 😂 Also, that's great you found a good way to get around possible content issues with the Wordly Wise book. Good thinking! 😉 Praying you have a great finish to your week...blessings, friend!
Thanks so much for your comment :) I'm most excited about this lit course! I hope you will like it too!
Was your daughter at grade level when she started Denison math?
No, she had just started CLE Math 6.
Woohoo! We started yesterday as well 😊 And I probably should think about thriftbooks for my old books. That's something to think about 🤔
So why did you decide again MB language lessons 9th grade?
I am not using LLFLE 9 - I talk about those changes and my "why" behind it here: ua-cam.com/video/CeX0B3d8U9o/v-deo.htmlsi=US3d8XqMFSuTEg-5
@@homeschoolteenswithjenny how did I miss that one?!
@@MultitaskingNinjaMom haha!
Hi! Great video! I would love to watch a video of your bookshelves. I have two 13 year olds and we read Vanderbeekers during Christmas time last year. My son enjoyed it a little more than my daughter, but they didn't want to continue the series. I think they gave it 3 stars 😌 Monthly reading recaps sound great or even just quarterly.
Check out the newest video I posted yesterday - I go through my bookshelves :) ua-cam.com/video/cf4t7QRUpWY/v-deo.htmlsi=kDkxK2oBs6ookELZ
Dr pepper is also my favorite soda!
Mt. Dew, Pepsi and Iced Coffee is my go to!
We read Song for a Whale and liked it. Monthly updates please! Could you share about dual enrollment if you have experience with it?
@@melanieturner5665 I have an unpopular opinion about dual enrollment 😝 It’s not something our family is choosing to do.
First time ever watching your videos. Dr Pepper is my #1. We are starting July 15th and like to finish mid May, we also only take 8 weeks max for summer. I noticed a familiar book buddy stuffed animal on your top shelf - my kids love Jingle and Bell from Hallmark.
Well, we have a lot in common! Thx for your comment :) And Jingle will ALWAYS be our favorite :)
Catholicism and Eastern Orthodox counterfeit Christianity? Wow! As an Eastern Orthodox that is offensive, but also I never teach my children that Protestantism is counterfeit. Sad The problem with this book is you are assuming they are teaching accurately what Eastern Orhodox is. I doubt they are. I converted to Eastern Orthodox 14 years ago and have loved Christ my whole life and have only sought after Him. Even when I was a Protestant I stayed clear of curriculum like this.
Missed the live, but LOVED watching your room/book tour! ❤ Its exciting to see things come together for a new year. I'm preparing now, too. I love Dr. Pepper, but am focusing on more water, too. Praying you have a great start to your new school year! 🎉

Thank you! This is the first house we have built, and that room is PERFECT for our needs!
Homeschooling high school IS fun!
Thanks for the ideas. Haven’t read any of these.
I absolutely also love homeschooling high schoolers.. I would love to see you do a monthly recap of the books that you're reading..
Great read alouds Jenny ❤📚📚
We have The Vanderbeekers, The War that Saves my Life, and Song of the Whale on our list for this year too! My daughter also has taken a huge interest in ASL. We love Greenglass House and Ghosts of Greenglass House. Such a fun Christmas time read. We tend to read aloud at lunch time when their mouths are full. Of course I am reading hungry! 😂
@@kellireadsalot great minds think alike :)
Glad you're feeling better. ❤ I'm a Dr. Pepper fan all the way. Lol... We love, love books here, and have read almost all of those titles. We have VanderBeekers, but just haven't read it yet, and I've seen The War That Saved My Life on a Sonlight list, I think. And the Song for a Whale book looks great! The others I've read and enjoyed. Youve got some good picks! 🎉
Yes, Dr. Pepper is #1 in my book! Thanks for your comment :)
Have not read any of those but I do have a few of them on my list for read alouds already.
I'm excited about ALL of them, honestly :)
@@homeschoolteenswithjenny I can't wait to hear your reviews! I almost bought the vanderbeeker set on Amazon. Lol
Hi . I'm a 11th grade student in Bangladesh I'm planning to do my undergrad in USA so I've to complete the textbooks of USA . I don't have any idea about 11th grade textbooks in USA. Will this video be helpful for me ?
Hi, are they QR codes in the parent guide for videos to watch? I understood from BFB that all new guides coming out they’d update them with them, for eg the updated Early American history primary now has QR codes, whereas the previous one, an address was given which you’d have to type in to your computer/phone.
I wasn't ignoring your question.. I just had to get upstairs to review the teacher guide before I could answer :) There is only 1 QR code in the teacher manual (in the front), and it takes you to the Resource Packet for the course. The Resource Packet is downloadable, and it includes graphs, charts and website links to each lesson.
@@homeschoolteenswithjenny hi, thanks so much. Someone at BFB has said to me they had updated all the video links which updates the 2020 edition. They said the content was the same, but all the rabbit trail video suggestions were now linked. Odd they said that to me. But thank you for letting me know, since I’ll just buy the 2020 guide and books second hand.
What software did you use for the transcript? Thank you this was awesome ❤❤
@@shalon4jc2 It’s just a Word document with inserting a table - a lot of people use Excel but I’m terrible at Excel 🤣
@@homeschoolteenswithjenny thank you very much🥰
So sorry you haven’t been feeling well but glad you are on the mend! I came down with someone awful in May that took so long to recover from! We all got it so that made it challenging. I have Walmart plus which helped so much because it’s free delivery same day of groceries! What a help that was.
@@laurens4651 yes! We did curbside pickup which was a life saver!!!!
Glad you're feeling better ❤
