Flooding of river shacks along the River Murray in South Australia. December 31st 2022
In December 2022 floodwaters that fell as record rains thousands of kilometers away made its way down stream to the state of South Australia, by the time they got here it was the middle of our hot dry summer, adding to the surealness of the scene. The waters peaked at over 10 meters above the river's normal levels threatening riverside towns and inundating hundreds of holiday homes known locally as shacks that spread up and down the river. The worst flooding since 1956

This is to send to the eBay seller of this radio, the screen randomly starts acting like it is been pressed, the radio will also forget all it's presets etc and won't connect to the DAB adapter I bought with it. Would not recommend!
Red Bellied Black Snake attacking a Brown Snake longer version
Переглядів 13 млн7 років тому
Came across this on the side of the road at Myponga SA, we saw the Redbelly chase the Brown across the road then catch it. This is a longer version of the other video with footage and photos of the Brown snake being eaten. It was an amazing thing to witness. Yeah we don’t kill red bellies as they eat the browns.. actually we don’t kill any snake….. :)
I got attack by a red belly while I got Maccas it was hideing in a haystack
I never would have expected that when I read the title. You could actually see the brown snake injecting it's venom because sometimes when he would bite, you could see indents in it's head, where the venom glads are located--they looked hollow, as though his constrictor muscles were pushing every last itty-bitty drop of venom he had, into his predator.....But even as powerful as he was, it did no good. A great video, and thanks for uploading!!!!!!
Redbelly ate the brown. In the description.
The most aggressive snake, is indeed eastern brown, sorry black mamba but your cousin is way more aggressive and also more venomous
Lol at the little brown snake biting itself at 2:00 then spitting himself back out
Thumps down for censorship
What happened in the end?
We used to prefer the red belly black snake over the browns and tiger snakes which they also eat, but ideally I'd like to have none around lol
Yo, brown snake…you gotta go for the attacker’s eyes…self defense 101
Even with the venom in the bites as a non-factor, that Red-Belly must have been sore as hell the next day.
Redbelly Black snake is a protector of the land
มีแต่ของเก่าๆเอามาให้ดูทั้งนั้นเลยบ้าหรือเปล่าวะ
They say if you've got red bellies around your house that's good as they eat the browns. Finally a video to back that theory up. Much rather a red than a brown!
Are they both venomous?
Divisiveness! That's what happens when they Overloaded on Internet. Bet he has the Runs for weeks!
Both Elapid, members of the Cobra family and both can grow to eight feet long.
The brown snake is doing its best.
I was watching this intently, fascinated, and my dog walked up to me from behind and licked my leg. I screamed like a girl and thought I was dead.
Redbelly venom can kill a brown snake but brown cant kill redbelly..
I'm still in a dream, SNAKE EATER!!
Far out...based on the comments below I didn't know Steve Irwin was still alive with his expert comments!
I wonder who eventually won this battle my guess was the brown snake
Who won?
Red belly's HATE browns & are full territorial . I keep red belly's close on property , so I have zero king browns around
Both snakes do co exist as I’ve had both on my property & even a 5 foot Red Belly in my lounge room & a Red will take down a Brown to eat . Venom does not affect it . The most damage done is fang puncture marks . Even so , Browns only have so much venom & once a Brown uses it’s venom the glands take time to produce more . Not every bite delivers venom . Sometimes they dry bite as a warning but in this situation it probably used all its venom .
Red bellies eat brown snakes
Going that close you gave thred belly more ofa chance because you scared the brown snake with shadows and movment but never the red belly had its head covered and facing away from you
That's a small immature brown.
It’s more of a matchup when the eastern brown fully grown. Fully grown red belly is fairly immune to a smaller brown snake venom. I highly suspect the brown ended up as lunch.
This is what red belly black do, They eat other venomous snakes.
Where's the part 2 what happened?
I had to pick up a red bellied black and bring it outside from my kitchen with a pair of kitchen tongs , it was so relaxed, like it was apologetic, the browns Ive seen around the place are always up for a scrap and seeming threatening, I wouldn’t pick one of those up lol
Ofcourse they have an Australian accent 😅
The brown is far more lethal, but the red belly black's venom is lethal but its also necrotic.......nasty indeed.
Both probably died , I've seen what a brown does when it bites it's own tail , they rot , if they do that to themselves
The red bellys more our friends than the brown they way more chilled and take out more dangerous species for food
I treat Red Belly Blacks as friends of the property! While they are around you will seldom see a Brown or a Tiger! I stepped on the discarded skin of a RBB today and got a fright. It was about 4” wide so discarding it to grow bigger makes for a pretty big snake! Glad he is here!
Red Belly Blacks look stunning looking snake
Yes they are gorgeous indeed!@@jenifferschmitz8618
Red belly's are dying out due to eating cane toads, which increases the population of brown snakes😢
Browns move super quick. too . Plenty of them in Goulburn nsw.
Where I am we wouldn't kill Red Belly's as we know they hunt the deadly Browns for food and generally win the encounters
I’m no snake expert, however I read that red bellied black snakes were decimated by eating Cane toads. Because of that there was a growing population of brown snakes. Apparently red bellied black snakes are making a comeback learning not to eat cane toads So red bellied black snakes are your friend. They are not as poisonous or aggressive as brown snakes and they eat them. If Some expert believes I am wrong please reply
The red belly is immune to the venom of other snakes as they are a known snake eater. They will also take frogs and lizards but seem to prefer snakes when they get larger.
Thanks, i was wondering about that.
@@BrondolfrMadhorsebut unfortunately I heard they all bow down to the invasive cane toad
The brown snake is highly venomous
@@dagnabbit6187 Not true, Red Bellies can eat small cane toads, but not larger ones.
Fact checked…100% correct… black is immune to brown. I was watching the black stretch itself as far as possible and thought it to be an effort to improve its scaly armored defense, and perhaps it was, those viper teeth piecing thru would, hurt like hell, but either way, immune (esp so given the size disparity in these two adversaries)
Have read quite a few comments here but haven't read the feature which as someone who lives in the Australian bush, I think is the biggest or at least first consideration: brown snakes are more aggressive than blacks. Both can kill you (though the brown is the more toxic I believe), but the more immediate thing you need to know is that the brown snake is far more likely to attack you than the black. You almost have to stand on a black snake to get bitten. Get within a few feet or even a couple of metres from a brown snake, however, and there's a good chance he will come at you. Not a very pleasant experience I can tell you. Which is why we keep a sharp ended shovel at the back door!
Unfortunately we don't get to see the ending. Looks like the Red belly has a good grip over the Eastern Brown. But the Eastern brown doesn't look to be weaken. RB has a size advantage...
You forgot to mention that snakes in Australia are Australian wildlife and it's illegal to kill our wildlife very un Australian actually. And considering the eastern brown is the second deadliest snake in the world they are more venomous than the red belly's.
@@dunkodownunderRed belly has all the advantages, browns is what they eat.
I wish Rockstar would do a voice over of this fight
Who won ?
The red belly will be sick after been bitten by the brown ? ?
Both snakes are doomed they bit each other.
The Red Belly is very mature & well fed . The brown snake is only a juvenile. Still probably packs more venom punch ????
But its fangs can't get through the black's skin.
I’ve seen a red belly eating a tiger snake they are notorious for eating other sny
