The Groomsmen

I made custom action figure for each of my groomsmen as part of their 'will you be a groomsmen?' gift. A 90s tastic over the top commercial needed to happen before I shipped them off.
That Thing You Do! Director's Cut. Additional Scene - Mr. White has a boy friend

This is my favorite movie and I just found out there is a director's cut. And I couldn't find scenes anywhere online. Howie Long was cut from the movie. I'll post the rest of these up later.

Future Presidential Candidate guest starring as George's boss on the hit NBC Must See TV Thursday Night Sitcom.
The scene seemed forced, overacted, and didn't advance the story at all.
Must have been hard cutting this out. Rita showed the practical side of living in Los Angeles and knowing famous people, and how to make a buck off of it.
So this is second movie where he play a gay character . And he is the one that wrote and director the movie I am starting to worry about him
Thank you. It was simple and I am trying this. 🌸🪴
Yeah this whole movie was loosely based on the young Beatles, including Brian Epstein who was gay.
this scene doesn't make it obvious that it's his boyfriend. could just be a friend, other than calling him "Mr Pouty"
Well this explains why Howie Long was listed on IMDB. Also I always figured that Guy had spent the entire night with Rita.
I absolutely love that thing you do but the directors cut with the added scenes is actually a worse movie.
I prefer the theatrical release over the directors cut because..."There comes a time in every life when that dream you dream becomes that thing you do!"...who wants to write about another's dreams( director's cut)
Rita was such a babe...
Good thing this scene wasn't ready for prime time. And Howie Long as a gayboytoy. Classic!
Is that Howie Long ?
Perhaps a loving tribute to Brian Epstein, a splash of whimsy using Howie Long who, it seems, would be the long-suffering top to Tom's busy bottom. Images I cannot embrace in any context.
Lots of fragile dudes in the comments....
-In the long run, Howie Long just might've been happy they cut that out. Some straights don't mind playing gay roles, but most turn it down.
-Love this movie, but glad they scrapped a gay part. But if they left that scene in they could've had it as Mr.White & the guy as straight friends just going to hang out, nothing more. Thankyou editors.
I wonder what Epstein Island was called in the 60'S?
Modern editors would have prioritized this scene at all costs.
Yessir
That didn't belong in the movie
WW3 a problem facing the world? Nah, the real problem is how can we add more gay scenes in movies? Damn editors going to destroy the world.
Disgusting
Awful
I AM SPARTACUSH!
Wasn’t White loosely based off of Brian Epstein? If so then this makes perfect sense.
this is so funny but i’m so glad it was cut it’s so unnecessary 😭
Mr. White being so open about being gay in the 1960s seems kind of ridiculous.
Homophobic perhaps.
The director's cut isn't terrible. It's just that the theatrical version is better.
Yeah, this scene is not played with the same energy and tone as the rest of the film. There's always a reason something gets cut. But thanks so much for sharing this. This is my favorite movie and I've never seen a deleted scene. (That rhymed...)
that was bad
Rita sold every scene she was in. The subtext between characters was ridiculous!
On their way to Epstein island
Rita Wilson is beautiful
Omg the Horror.
Yeah this scene sucked!! Good job editors!!
At 2:30 am
I guess Tom hanks is really gay? That explains a lot
Thank you for posting this video James.
So fucking gross. They should have left this in, to show Hanks' true nature.
He did Philadelphia perfectly. He is such a great actor
Oh, yes…we have to work in a homosexual relationship…because EVERY single situation in EVERY sphere of life has a homosexual relationship in it. So cliche…so annoying.
It is a funny scene, and I appreciate the idea of giving Mr. White more of a backstory. But it didn't add anything to the movie. It worked so well as is, I think they made the right choice to move along without it.
Brian Epstein
This scene should have been in the movie
Where the hell is Bryan Cranston?
1,) Don't know why Hanks, who wrote AND directed this film, felt compelled to make his character, Mr. White, gay. 2.) And of all people to cast as his gay boyfriend, why Howie Long? The GREATEST defensive lineman of all time! 3.) Freakin' Hollywood is full of FREAKS.
Does Lamar ever go home?
Yea, totally unnecessary.
No added gayness required.
First: Rita Wilson was gorgeous… Second: Tom Scott was absolutely not capable of pulling this scene off. His drunk guy act was so over-the-top bad, it was unusable-unfortunately, because Rita was awesome! And GORGEOUS…
