I did this and now my gpu showing black display
Make sure it is seated properly in motherboard and that all the connections are correct
Amazing skills! I accidently removed the left stick ribbon cable connector from the PCB :(. I tried to simply put it back in place but the left stick is not working anymore (there seems to be a lot if pins to align correctly within the connector). Do you happen to know if those ribbon cable connectors are also soldered to the motherboard? I can't believe I removed it so easily. Too bad I live in France, I wish you would repair my controller!
The ribbon cable retainer clip broke off?
HI! I bought a broken xbox series s and I would like to try to fix it myself (before practicing on some cards to throw away), could you please recommend an air gun around $150? Something just right to start with. Thank you!
This is the one I have and it works very well (You can spend way more but I haven't found the need to). www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RPMR4Y4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
for a second i thought there was a third hand. I almost shat my pants
That is all I want from my videos, not to help or share knowledge, but to make people almost poop their pants. Almost though, not actually poop, I am not a monster.
Can you link to the Liquid Metal kit you used?
Liquid Metal Thermal Paste, 79... www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLZ41J1B?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Many years ago my buddy and I would play some madden football game on PS1. PS would overheat and game would freeze. That's when we would put it in the freezer and go smoke a bowl. Start over, ps be ok rest of the night.😂
Yep this is the PS5 version of freezer and smoke a bowl!
as a 15yr, i followed through all of it, i got to the point to where you mention sotering, and i got a little mad, we/mu parents, and i do not have a sotering kit... im going to leave it apart for maybe a day or two, i don't know if that will mess up the thermal pads though.
(also, I'm doing this all by myself too, they will not help me nor buy anything for me. will I need a sotering kit? if so what's the best cheapest brand?
That is awesome you are attempting to fix your hdmi port. You really need a hot air rework station with a soldering iron and hot air gun. I don't want to discourage you but this is a difficult job to start with.
So swapping the mother board into a new phone saves all of your settings and content?
Yes that is correct. When you swap all the internals to a new screen and frame assembly all your information is there.
Love the gross grodiness of broken lol
There is something very satisfying about taking a gross broken thing and making it perfect again!
I just fixed one that is a store inventory where I work, I wished it was this easy but the whole hdmi basically is ripped out and 2 solder pads is missing and have to run a very small thin copper wire and it is a pain in the a++ to do. I wished it was this easy when I did it.
Yes it is no fun when the traces get ripped out! Not impossible but very frustrating. I had one that had half of them ripped off. I had to start and walk away for a day on that one!
@@dackselectronicrepair it is the same of what I encountered, I have to just leave it and went back to it the next day...
I’ve replaced this screen a hundred times for work but the ear piece speaker keeps failing every time I move it. Any tips?
Make sure the pins are not bent in the wrong direction and that they line up with the copper pads, it is possible you just need to replace that part as well. Good luck!
@@dackselectronicrepair Thanks! I didn’t know they existed on Amazon for $7, gonna grab a few. Cheers dude
Hi, can I send my son’s iPad to you please? It’s the same model, please help, I’ll pay. I live in the Caribbean, I could get it to you if you say
Not sure that would be very cost effective for you but if you want to send me message on my Facebook business page that would be fine. facebook.com/dackselectronicrepair
A32 has one of the weakest screens ive ever seen. Thanks
Yes that is true, luckily the replacement screens are pretty cheap!
Does it need to be warmed up first like cpus? Also are all gpus like this when opening? My pny 2070 super triple fan (not xlr8) is so unknown i can't find the exact video for the card
Not sure what you mean by warming up the cpu but no you do not need to heat anything to replace the thermal paste. Yes the majority of GPUs are like this. They are just a board with the processor chip and ram attached to a heat sink. Some use passive cooling (no fan) or active cooling (fan or liquid cooling block). The thermal paste transfers the heat from the chips to the heat sink so it can be dispersed.
Very useful but man I think theres no saving my phone
Sorry to hear that! It does happen though.
Excellent tutorial. Subbed for sure.
Thanks for the sub!
Do we need to replace the frame as well? The old frame can be reused right?
Yes if you want to do a screen only repair you can but I prefer to do it this way.
Removed useing a desolder iron could please tell me under blue part of alps analogs is the solder around the holes because is no solder around a few please reply
Some of the legs don't have any solder on them? You can just use flux and solder the legs that don't have any.
Dack, I am trying to get ahold of you to see if you can do work on a ps3 backwards compatible for me
You can contact me on my Facebook page facebook.com/dackselectronicrepair
@@dackselectronicrepair I don't use Facebook which is why I'm reaching out through here
Is that lead free solder?
The original solder Apple used is lead free. I use leaded.
@@dackselectronicrepair I did mine with unleaded and it didn't flow. Managed to pull of some of the pads that you said be carful not to. I used leaded and it was much better. 😔. I need to put it back together and test if im lucky. Im thinking maybe its just data on the missing ones. Fingers crossed.
I've never soldered before but i'd like to change my joysticks to hall effect joysticks what tools do you use do you have links?
I use a hotair rework station. You can get them on Amazon. It has a hot air gun and a soldering iron which are temp and airflow adjustable.
Thank you...please guide is there a differnece between sm918U vs sm918B i presume us model has antenna in the side which you glued with glue strip ?
From my understanding the U model is programmed to work on the common bands here in the United States and the B model is for other countries. I don't know exactly what the hardware differences are though.
What exactly do I need if my screen is just cracked?
The glass and display are glued together so you would need the whole assembly like in the video.
I've done this 4 times, two were successful, and the other two I ended up melting the underside of the analog stick...what am I doing wrong?
It really is a time sensitive repair. You have to get all solder in all the legs heated up at the same time so you can basically just drop the new stick into place and remove the heat right away. If you leave the hot air going for too long after you put the new stick in place you will melt the underside of it. A little melting won't hurt anything but too much will make it not work.
Sotter? Is that how u spel it? Sorry I am from Finland so I don’t know the right way to spell it. But I have to say, your work looks really impressive. I have done this kind of work also, so your post looks interesting to me. Thank u for this 😊
Thank you! I have always wanted to visit your beautiful country! It is spelled solder but pronounced sotter.
Thank U for your answer. Now I know it is solder 😊 My country is one to visit I can say. 😊 Can I ask U to do some repair video for me to learn? For exsamble to fix charching cable? Or is that interesting to U or do you do this kind of work?
What do you mean by a charging cable? The cord or the wall brick?
I know that these days fixing a charging cable is kinda stupid bc those are so cheap, but I’m just curious. 😄 My cable broke just at the end of the wall brick bc it was bend. So the red wire was broken. I don’t know if it is worth to try to fix it, but it is a really long cord so I would like to try. 😊 I totally understant if u do not want to do this kind of work 😊
I have to say that the little tip u gave concerning screws positions when tearing down, must made many happy like me because none of the other videos even bother to share that and focus solely on the phone. Thank you!
Glad to help!
I would like to get mine fixed by you guys
I appreciate that but it may cost you too much to ship it to Iowa! Any good computer shop should be able to do it for you!
@@dackselectronicrepair where in Iowa?
nvm I think I found where you are, a bit far even for me (very NW corner of Iowa)... a friend of mine asked me to see if I can fix their digital PS5 but im pretty sure it is the port too. I could probably do it, but may be a pain and I'd have to order the HDMI ports since I don't regularly do this sorta thing.
I did not listen to the part about being carful with the plastic connectors and now half of one is black😂
That's not good, hopefully it is just a little toasted and not broken!
Do you need soder and flux and all those liquid or is there any other liquids to use
The purpose of the flux is to help the solder melt and to make the new solder melt to the pins. You do not have to use it but it makes it MUCH easier and cleaner of a job.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
I’ve been trying to learn how to fix my ps4 as 14 year old this video has helped me so much thank you
That is awesome and impressive! Keep it up and you may be making your own repair videos someday!

What is the iphone se 2016 battery model if i may ask
I don't usually search by model number so I am not sure.
can you skip putting on the tape? what is the purpose of it?
The tape on the battery keeps it in place so it doesn't bounce around in there. You can often reuse the old stuff or regular double sided tape is fine to use as well.
No luck. Phones been sitting for maybe 8 months, with dead battery. You know if that has something to do with it?
And I want to add another thing. When I plug the charger in, it does make the sound that it's charging. Also plugging phone into USB on my PC, my computer does see (Recogize)the phone, but that's it.
It sounds like the screen is either bad or not plugged in.
@@dackselectronicrepair Thanks. I'll try again
Worked for me. Only thing is, you could remind people to plug in battery for final time.
Good call!
@@dackselectronicrepair but it was very helpful! Thank you for making it.
How expensive is that.
You can get the screen for 30 to 100 depending on quality.
I found a little trick when getting that top speaker assembly off. Near where the cable with the plus sign and north of the closest screw hole there is a rectangle notch, squeeze your tweezers together and put them in that rectangle and rotate them up and voila! It's the same with the bottom speaker set too just on the left bottom hand side. I'm just lifting it up a little then using that blue thing you have to move it out.
Great tip!
Thank you for not giving us a biography before your video, and getting straight to the point
Thanks!
Would the gm chemical flux paste work to hot air the hdmi port off
As long as it is flux for electronics then it should work
At first I slowed down the video 50 % to make sure I saw everything correctly. But then you sounded so drunk that I couldn't stop laughing and saw nothing cause of the tears. Great voice in normal speed, quick and easy video, love it! Thank you for making this!
Public service announcement, don't drink and thermal paste! That is hilarious. thank you!
Where’s the whole top end in that? I thought I missed something but that one clearly doesn’t have it, it holds the whole thing on in mine and I no longer know how to proceed after the 5 minutes mark
What do you mean by the top end? The fan assembly is on the top.
I replaced my sticks on my controller, but my right stick won't reach full outer range when it's all fit back together. If I take off the trim ring around the joystick, it reaches just fine. I've replaced the joystick cap and the trim ring and it's the same thing. Any idea what's going on here?
Are you using the stock joystick? Some of thr aftermarket ones or ones from a ps4 or xbox one are just a bit too big
Hey man, great video. Camera works great now! However... now the main button (Touch ID button) isn't working at all. What have I done??
The button flex cable goes through the screen display cable but make sure it is plugged in under the plate.
For my moto G power 2021, I put a swapped out my phone case for a "stronger" one with better protection - the three layers. And boy was that a mistake. I've only used the phone case for less than a week. At first I noticed a vertical dotted line near the right side of my screen and thought nothing of it. Now my phone has purple stripes when starting up and now the entire screen has a green tint all the time. Did a hard restart, don't think it's a software issue. I never dropped my phone. I think the phone case just squeezed my phone too tight and I think it damaged the internal screen components :/ I read that there is nothing you can do because it's a tiny piece under the LCD screen that controls the color tint. Do you think there is a fix for this or is it a lost cause?
A new screen should fix that issue. It sounds like the lcd is damaged like you said.
