Atmospheric Watercolor Tutorial
Welcome to my second UA-cam video where I walk you through the process for creating an atmospheric landscape watercolor painting. I am excited to share this process in some longer format videos for those of you who have expressed interest. I will provide links to some of my favorite supplies below.
If you are interested in purchasing this painting, "Bubblegum Daze", it is available on my website: www.kendrabrazzel.art/category/all-products
I hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about the process! If you have questions, please leave a comment and I will do my best to answer here, or in a future video. Thank you for your support - Kendra

Many of these items can be found at other online retailers and some can be found in local art shops. I have never seen mineral paper in a store, and I would caution ordering from Amazon. They ship it in a plastic bag and it often arrives damaged.

Developing Processes Through Exploration - Artist Talk
Переглядів 2,5 тис.4 місяці тому
This is a video of my first artist talk at the Magnolia Art Xchange on July 18, 2024. I talk about my background and and how I discovered my love for painting during the pandemic. After finally sharing my art in a gallery show back in November 2022, where I won "Best in Show" prize I decided to pursue art as more than a hobby. Over the next 9 months I would experiment and explore with watercolo...
I love this video! How long does it take to dry and quit moving? Do you seal it?
That was absolutely fascinating, I have been longing to try abstract watercolours but lack the confidence, now I think I should try your techniques. I do have some acrylic paints and lots of watercolours so, apart from some paper, I am all set to go. Thank you so much for sharing with us and passing on your knowledge and please keep up the video's, I will certainly be looking out for more. Best wishes, Diane UK
Hi Kendra ~ thanks for another fascinating and clear video. Your presentation is perfect and to the point. Just to let any UK viewers know, I’ve just received an A4 pad of mineral paper from Amazon (as I couldn’t find it anywhere else here) and it arrived intact in a brown paper package, which was a relief! Am really keen to have a play now 😊
WOW! Kendra! This artwork of yours is amazing! I can't believe this is your first UA-cam video. It was so inspiring to watch you create and explain your process so clearly. This video is wonderful! I loved it! Thank you so much for sharing!
Oh wow - really love this! And I am also one of those who dislikes the UA-cam videos with “music” instead of voiceovers. (Usually really irritating and distracting music at that! ) This is so informative and inspirational Kendra - am going to see if I can find mineral paper here in the UK. I can see a new obsession arising. Thank you ❤
Great tutorial! Thank you for sharing your process. I love the beautiful result!
Beautiful and amazing movement
Dear Kendra- I'm so happy I found you! I saw someone else on Facebook doing this in one of my groups, and when I searched UA-cam for how to do it, you were one of the first to pop up. This tutorial is incredibly helpful, and your piece turned out beautifully. You’re so right about music being an inspiration! I’ve been listening to The Best of Puccini, which isn’t my usual go-to music, but it works so well in the creative headspace. Thank you.
Love the tutorial on your materials and process. The results are beautiful and unique!!!
Hello Kendra. In my country (Spain) it is to find Mineral Paper, Yasumoto or any other brand, neither on Amazon nor in art stores. I wanted to ask you if it is possible to make those beautiful works that you do on synthetic paper, such as Yupo paper. Thank you very much for sharing your teachings. Best regards.
Thank you for sharing your process. Beautiful!! I do acrylic pouring but it’s so messy
You talk! Yes! So many make videos with music or type on the screen. I have eye fatigue and can’t stare at any screen for too long. I usually listen and look up here and there to keep up visually. I like to listen while making my own art so thank you for talking! Every artist has days where things don’t turn out. It’s okay, it’s okay to show it as well. You could always talk about why you think it didn’t turn out as you would have liked. Either way it just makes you look like a real person without the fake perception that everything is perfect all the time. It helps beginners with their self confidence to let them know everybody has those days and it’s a learning process no matter how experienced one is.
Hi Kendra. Love this technique! How do you protect the work once finished? Leonie from Sunny South Africa😊
Thank you for sharing your process, Kendra. Awesome!!!
Hi, I just found your channel a few days ago and I have to say I am completely, completely hooked! Do you have a gallery or do you have your paintings shown in a gallery? Do you or would you consider teaching this technique outside of UA-cam in an actual regular class setting or online class setting? I would really love to learn this technique as I am completely mesmerized by it.
LOve it. The music is awesome!
On the left I can see a mother’s image looking down, a big tree in the center and at the end , wow just beautiful
I see the big tree in the middle as well, and a tornado coming down from the sky. Fun!!
Amazing technique ❤ thanks for sharing
Wow!
Love your process videos! So fun to watch 💜💚🤍🩷🩵
I just found your Instagram reel! So absolutely beautiful!! I had to try the technique right away. Thank you so much for sharing your gift and your technique! I live on the East Coast of FL and hope to come visit your studio one day. It’s 8:15 pm ET
Absolutely fantastic . I love the calm and tone of voice of Kendra. very inspiring : I think i just found how to do (a process i once did with ink and water on sheet of glass) and was never able to recreate. I certainlly have become a fan ''my hamster in my head has started to turn again. '' Tks much.
Love your work Kendra! Can you please tell me what size brush you use for this?
Congratulations for your UA-cam series 👍🏻😃
Oh my goodness this color combo is a dream and this flow is mesmerizing. Amazing❤❤❤❤
amazing and so beautiful:) It's not possible for me to acquire Yasutomo Mineral Paper Artist Pads in Europe, maybe it's possible for you to suggest another mineral paper that's is as good as Yasutomo?
Fabulous 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 thank you! Love your work
Sensational. Thanks for the details and your generosity.
I love your work. Thank you for showing us how you create your art. Can you list what you used in the order you used them? I only caught the name of the first one. Thanks! ❤
Absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing work! Thank you for sharing. So you epoxy or train the finished piece and/or frame them?
Do you use a UV protectant or do you just put it behind protective glass? Just curious because the dyes are not light fast. I am just wondering how you protect them or if you protect them, not everybody wants it to last 500 years
confetti
I am over the moon you shared! have you tried with hot press? I am new to all of this and I am mesmerized.

Northern lights.
Does it need to be sealed or is it good once its dry?
I've been fascinated with your art on IG for weeks now. Thank you so much for this tutorial, I'm so excited to finally know how you do it. I'm retired and am constantly looking for a fun hobby to occupy my time, and that I can do with my paints and inks. I think I'll give this a try ❤. Thanks again😊
So gorgeous! I was wondering the brand of watercolor inks?
Очень красиво! Спасибо за мастер-класс! 🥰
Thank you for sharing your process wonderful work!
Oh my goodness, I'm in tears. This is so beautiful and the type of effect I've wanted to learn. Thank you. ❤

I see some spooky-looking faces in the top part of this piece ! 💀💀👻pretty work, but this one is very "dark" to me!!
Thank you Kendra for sharing your process. I've experimented and tried to do this but never got as much height. I'll definitely try mineral paper and keeping the source colour to two lines and use a pipette. You've given me hope that i can do it! 🙏🙏🙏
Kendra thanks so much for sharing your process. I do this technique also and have had some beautiful paintings come from it. I’ve only ever done mine on dry paper but now you’ve convinced me to try wetting the paper first. Great nugget! Thank you.
gorgeous!!!
