I suspected my convertible top was misaligned when i picked it up from the dealership and iT was worse than i expected. Rather than take it back to GM i adjusted myself. #c8corvette #corvette #convertable

Homemade patina Sauce sure why not

Time to try my hand at using linseed oil to preserve the patina on the 47 Chevrolet. We also put a flat deck on it to make it look like a proper truck.
Will it start?

Corvette C8, C7 or C2 which is better?
I feel so sorry for you tall guys, Ha Ha, not.
Did you win the lottery dude ?
Sucks they messed up top. Bigger problems. Replaced transmission on new car. WTH is going on with the C8?
Idno...
Mike on you video you talk about having your cars on a second level. Take a look at Advantage Lifts. They make a double wide and multi level. They are a little less the Bend Pack but just as good. I love mine.
I'll have to check those out
A perfect example why GM is not ready for cars like this. A 100k car with a dollar store service department. I dread taking my corvette to the dealer for anything. Get some sonax alcantara cleaner for the fingerprints on your interior.
Me too. I have some autoglym interior cleaner that I sprayed onto a microfiber and it seemed to do the trick but I'll have to check that other stuff out as well
Scares me to death dropping off my car to a dealer, scratched up my carbon fiber door panel and a 7 inch scratch on my rear quarter panel on my 23 SS when I had it.
Ugh that's awefull
*You said that you have difficulty getting into your wife's '75, just curious, how tall are you?*
6ft it would be alot better if I could put the seat back back some more
Gorgeous car, but that's the kind of stuff that would drive me bonkers, especially if it produced an air noise/leak where there was none before. I wish you good luck with it.
A good reason not to buy the convertible Thanks for showing how to adjust
After having the convertible, i wouldn't buy another coupe. It's so nice and easy to put the top down
This video just highlights all the stupid crap that people buy. Just a garage full of absolute junk. The only thing that I could tolerate owning here is the red C2 Coupe.
Looks Good Happy New Year! 👍🏾
Happy new year
Boo hoo cry baby 😢😢😢
If you want reliability buy a Toyota if you want safety get a Volvo if you want style get a Ferrari. If you want all 3 get a Porsche. The C8 also has serious transmission problems.Just like GM walked away from the C-6 LS-7 ZO6 engine problems.
👍
Keep one thing in mind, Mike when you get your CSI report I repaired it was done. Tell him how you really feel.Mike you should bring the car back have the Chevy dealership repair it

Great video Mike really enjoy watching you work on your Corvette. Glad you were able to get the top adjusted. Thanks for sharing stay safe Mike.
The enemy of good is....perfect. Nice job.
❤ Jesus loves you.. Please bring him into your heart before it's too late.. These events are not from climate change.. but from God warning US the time of his wrath is coming... 😢 Please be saved by His Blood, my friend 🙏

Yes! Thank you
Awesome I really enjoy your videos and have learned from them.
Fellow corvette owner. You have every right to be pissed off. I am a diesel mechanic in hard rock mining and I take pride in my work but I get paid big bucks. I don't work on cars because of flat rate
Okay Random
I'm confused no money with all those cars huh
Great video! My dealer is 5 minutes away but in your situation,I would have done the same. At least you know it was done by you and care was taken. Who knows what else they would have screwed up if you took it back. Stay warm! 👍😎
Trouble is Mike they probably don’t sell a hell of a lot of Corvettes in PG plus even less convertibles that they have worked on. I bought a new 1976 Trans Am Firebird at the Pontiac dealer down in White Rock, BC…took it in for 1st service there and they scraped the fender on the hoist or shop door! They didn’t say anything to me but I saw it and called them out on it. They didn’t have a Bodyshop so I took it to another dealer and they paid for it. Service manager said nothing to upper management but he got fired when they found out for that and other things he did!
Yeah i think this was the first transmission they've had to do too.
Pretty complicated top mechanism by the looks of it…lots of moving parts. Newer Porsche Targas and 57-59 Ford Skyliners come to mind.
Looks like you did a better job adjusting the top than the dealership did....
Hopefully you will get your C8 figured out..
You are a much kinder, gentler man than me. I would have filled their ears with a variety of creative profanity.
A GM certified Tech, the MOST important part of a repair is "beating the flag hour" time quote in order to make money! If you want better service, you need to pay the higher rate (by the hour) for cars that are out of service. A two tier pay scale.
Mike bring that to the attention of Mr Wood he should be aware if the quality control of the incompetent service manager. BAD BAD
Great video!
Mike they are the dealer, You are the customer, take it back even if you have to wait until spring, they won't change until you make them. Also keep in mind, if it's under warranty and you adjust/repair/whatever, if something goes wrong................."Oh you voided your warranty"...........sorry.
Good fun watching you shuffle cars in the winter. Vicarious Corvette entertainment. Thanks Mike. They should definitely have fixed that top before returning the car.
Personally I'll not keep this particular car after people going through all to get the transmission out and in.
You overflow the system with the extra 2 liter of fluid? You never track the c8?
For a C8 Corvette, GM recommends a transmission filter change at around 7,500 miles, essentially prioritizing a filter change over a full transmission flush, as the initial filter change is crucial for optimal transmission performance in the early stages of ownership;. Key points about C8 Corvette transmission maintenance: Filter change priority: GM specifies that the transmission filter should be changed as close to 7,500 miles as possible. Fluid change interval: After the initial filter change at 7,500 miles, subsequent transmission fluid changes should be done every 22,500 miles. Consider driving conditions: If you frequently track your C8 Corvette, more frequent transmission fluid checks and potential filter changes may be necessary.
WAIT ! You didn’t torque those new bolts ? That’s why they give you new bolts - CAUSE you stretch bolt threads when you torque bolts - BUT YOU KNEW THAT !
Nice job fixing the power steering.. no more leaks for now!!
It's always something...
My Uncle had a 76 Vette back in the day..
Im not poor, but im not rich by any means. I was very close to getting a c8, but I dont want to deal with all the transmission issues being reported. I guess im going to wait till the next generation that comes out.
i wish they just made a manual transmission option
😊😊
That power steering line is very close to the extractors too, probably heat affected the hoses.. Its a complicated looking power steer setup! I always like the manual steering on my old Aussie Charger 16:1 ratio even with wide tires it was a joy to drive.
I love it that Andrea is into Corvette's too. You guys are a great team! Merry Beermas from OZ. (I'm getting in early..!!)
👍
You two work and interact well with each other. That's rare. Congratulations and thanks for the presentation.
What size is the building?
I would have taken that exhaust in to be ceramic coated first
You change the power steering filter 😂 It was good you changed all the lines. The exhaust right there get ATF/power steering fluid misting on hot exhaust good for a nice fire.
Yeah Andrea packs a fire extinguisher now. LOL
