I arrived to the Scriabin party late, but man oh man it was worth the wait... During the pandemic I started listening to some works/composers that I had previously written off or misunderstood or just never really explored and when I heard this piece I was totally taken aback. The finale nearly knocked me out of my seat. Such a shame he died so young and was cancelled by the Soviets. God only knows what else he would have composed. Absolutely magnificent!!!

Excelente! Magnífica ejecución de este pianista extraordinario. Por su sangre corre la inspiración jazzística de George Gershwin. Es una interpretación poco vista en la mayoría de los grandes pianistas. Bendiciones!!!

Appreciate this pieces in the Scriabin late style! ua-cam.com/video/mz5lSLvuUSc/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/nEOSPz9gB9s/v-deo.html This year, January 6 marked the 150th anniversary of the Birth of Alexander Nikolaevich Scriabin. He is the person closest to me and beloved by me in the whole world of art, a composer who immerses with his magical music into the worlds of "the highest refinement and the highest grandeur." Having deeply passed through all his work, I learned to thoroughly reproduce the elements of the Scriabin style. In particular, the style of the works of his late creative period, sounding extraordinary, otherworldly, mystical... Using specific means, first of all harmony (as well as texture and tempo), I can "scriabe" any piece, melody or motive accordingly, without changing at all or almost without changing the notes of the melodic line of the original. And despite the fact that in this case I didn't even change a single note of the melody of the original holiday song "Happy birthday to you" ua-cam.com/video/nEOSPz9gB9s/v-deo.html , in the end it sounds completely different: now it's not a "home holiday", but the image of a nervous-impetuous strong-willed flame characteristic of Scriabin! Also I "enchanted" the famous Christmas song "Jingle bells" ua-cam.com/video/mz5lSLvuUSc/v-deo.html into a figurative sphere characteristic of Scriabin: now it is the most refined cosmic longing, gradually ecstatically excited, and then melting away...

I learned of this music through my Mother and Father. It made indelible impression on me then, and it still does. The sorrow and pathos associated with the bombing and utter destruction of the city of Warsaw.

This really is a very great performance. Earl Wild is considered the standard, and that would be correct, but I wonder if the young Earl Wild played this concerto as well as the young Jablonski?

I was lucky enough to have received the score of Prometheus in New York , however it was in cold war times not allowed. I still have a facsimile of this score in my personal collection. In this piece I found my earlier style of writing which I truly did have. Just an incredible usage of modal structures with the potential of creating new harmonies. Of course the tritone was at the center of his thinking. Ashkenazy is my favorite interpreter of Scriabin.
