The only way to remove the sills is cut it? There are no bolt or Screw?
There spot welded and joined to the body shell, so have to cut off to be replaced.
is the sill you used some thing that can be ordered or was it fabricated by yourself
Don't know if you are still wondering, but if you Google MR2 Ben, there is an online store with LOTS of MR2 parts including full length brand new sills

ITS so satisfying knocking and grinding out years and layers of muck and bodgery!!! And replacing it with proper metal takes a long time but once its all clean and all your plates are made and fit i really enjoy welding in nice fresh metal so satisfying or am i weird ???😂😂😂 good work dude really hope this channel grows keep em coming m8 😊

I am from South Africa and have the same 1978 4 door Escort like that, it has been in the family for 40 years, color code on the name plate is "Nevada beige tan".

Great job. I need to get my roof trims off, how did you do it without breaking the tabs? Heat?
Thank you! They slide off so you need a hook style trim tool to gradually ease them off. They need to be done a bit of a time each until the whole thing comes off. Heat may help as I did it on a hot day in the sun! I hope that helps

I have a Mr2 that is 1999 that looks exactly like this one. Got the same issue and really bad sill rust. Do you do customer repairs ? Do you guys have an email so i can send over some pics. Mine is looking at fair bit worse than this one.

Saw your post on the Facebook Classic Car Restoration group. Nice work. Have also been thinking of using panel adhesive/bonding on my 1992 Rover 216 GTi rear arch inner to outer arch lips as plug welding (I don't have a spot welder) is a total pain on 0.8mm steel.
Turn the wire speed dwn or sand it of a biy more its arther spittin cause the paint or wire speed

At last somebody has flagged this. The number of times you see people (and in some cases who should know better lifting Sierras incorrectly with two post lifts.
Glad you like the content off the video, It has made a mess on both sides, due to be jacked up in completely the wrong place.

That defendly was the case in this situation, car is remarkable solid apart from that, so very happy with it.
@@CBombsToms it’s a shame it doesn’t get sorted properly first time. I’ve seen cars get plated and plated with the rot spreading like water on a tissue. It’s good to see not just the Cosworth Sierra is getting saved and used still 30 odd years after production ended. When I was little my dad had plenty of Sierra’s and Granada’s and Granada Scorpios.
I had one of these in the late 1970s, the same color estate, I think they made too many and had them parked in an old airport for years. my one was only 18 months old at the time and driving back through France, it overheated due to a rusted-out core plug.
Haha very interesting story, mine weird look destined for Europe as yet to see a British CL model, and the V plate has German spelling on it.
Yer exactly, because there rot isn't cut out properly and it's over plated, the rust continues to spread, looks a right mess until its all cut out!

It's where most people jacked them up but it's not the jacking point, the jacking point is about 6 inches in front, the hole and the notch in the sill is where the original jack was meant to be used.
