Will look better if hood & mirrors painted!!! Either gloss black hood, mirrors yellow, & yellow SS stripes on black hood, or yellow hood & black stripes. Nice car!!
Dana 60 witches kick ass in the front end of these vehicles and then you have a corporate 14 bolt in rear❤
Sounds like a little 350
Thanks for the information. I’m getting ready to purchase something from Jegs right now
Hey Man, I have an 87 that I want to put larger wheels on. Does these fronts rub anywhere? Thanks
These truck need new drivers 😂
Torque Thrust 2s or Ds?
2's
What a rig! =)
It's got to be better tires here or something because from what I noticed why is the truck that's pretty much half the weight of a suburban basically not having any problems and the suburban just seems more like a sitting duck then the truck both great looking and sounding vehicles but just curious that's all 😁👍
Boggers on the truck thornbirds on suburban
That square body pulled the titanic out and then some.
Mr. I truly take my hat off too you sir this is one capable off road machine. These trucks are as rugged as they get but they were notoriously underpowered. You have made this into one bad ass machine... How much do you have into it if you don't mind me asking.
Nice
2or3 inch lift? Great video
3 inch body lift
What’s the overall height of your wheels and tires
Do you know the rear back spacing on your wheels?
Video starts @ 1:14 for those who already know what a cold start sounds like and don't need to see or hear it.
I'm reminded of the Corb Lund song 🎵 the truck got stuck lol 😆 😂 🤣 😅 🙃
Square body GM trucks were the best ever built. Miss my 1979 K20. Love the video and your truck. Thanks for sharing.
Just bought me a 79
Beautiful truck sir. It’s a healthy monster. The suburban dropped a gear and disappeared 👻. Thanks for sharing.
Love them torque thrust rims
If u have it jacked up like mine 81s are sweet u can put a 10" wheel u have a nice set up
How much room is between the tire and the rear frame? Could you go with a half inch different offset to bring the wheel closer to the frame?
The tire has about a half inch gap from the frame so if it would work it would be extremely close to rubbing.
Put that sumbitch n 4Lo 😂
step on that shit and move the steering wheel around bro lol
Did you lift the suspension or left it original I got 17 for mine and I have to redo thet suspension and I would like to know if I have to lift it some
No lift, it does have air shocks set to about 40psi
@@gmsmokeshow4437 Thanks I'm going 17 all around .
It's a badass truck keep it up
Those rear tires will rub in certain conditions.
I would like to have a set of stock bumpers that came on your truck. I just saw you have a 350 engine. Very nice truck!
What engine and did you keep 4:56 gears?
That is hilarious a Chevy pulling out a Chevy but not really
That truck needs a big block
All trucks need a big block 🤙
I know this is a couple of years old, but love the headache rack. Nice job.
That 17"/18" combo is perfect!
Yep, that looks damn good.
have you modified the stock suspension? (raised or lowered?)
Front is lowered 2"
@@gmsmokeshow4437 thanks. Nice car, love the stance.
Why is there a gap between the front axle and spring on the driver's side?
I have wedge plates under the leafs and the axle perch is just open in the front and back.
Nice ride! I have a 87’ Cutlass, I have 18”x8 Ridler wheels. I want to put 245/45 tires on all 4. Do you know if they will rub?
Boy's, now that's a "truck"! Throw a case of beer on the hood, jump up on it and drink it! Try that today and your insurance will jump big time! And not from the beer!
👍🏿
I did not know an el camino was a gbody
Oh yea! Its exactly like the 1978-1987 Chevy Malibu. The only difference is the rear. Malibu has a trunk where the El Camino got a pick up truck bed. Its a G body for sure. Its classified a Sports Coupe Pick up. (A k a The Best Of Both Worlds)
I wanna do something like this to my 85 dodge ram but like m81 camo
Is the bolt pattern 5x4.75 for both front and back ?
Yes
@@gmsmokeshow4437 have you had any rubbing issues at all because I’m thinking about doing the same wheel and tire set up I have a 84 el Camino
@@deluciv6634 the fronts will rub if I hit a large bump or dip in the road.
@@gmsmokeshow4437 ok thanks
@@gmsmokeshow4437 is that because of the 2 inch drop you have in the front or ?
My truck could do better
I have a 1977 chevy scottsdale, would you recommend a one of those m1008's
Heck yeah but I may be a little biased!!!
Do you get decent highway mpg vs running the stock tire size?
Never checked the gas mileage, but the engine rpm is much lower.
Are You kidding .
Beautiful car That colour is rare
what are your offsets?
The fronts are -12mm and the rears are -18mm
@@gmsmokeshow4437 the rears only come in a -19mm offset
The military should still use these
They needed something that costs more
Nice ride !!!
Stock gear ratio 4.54? Or changed?
Stock 4.56
