4 Ways To Get A Server Job WITHOUT Experience | How To Prepare For A Restaurant Interview
Getting a job in a restaurant without experience can be tough! Especially if you are wanting to start out as a waiter or waitress...
Without experience, all you have to offer the hiring manager is your PERSONALITY and your ABILITY TO BE TRAINED. You will have to sell them that you can do the job and you will do whatever it takes to become successful at it.
In this video, I will walk you through the 4 different ways you can use to get into a restaurant. Without having any previous serving experience, it will take work, but it can be done!
The first and most important step for you to take is to assess your skill set and the qualities you will be able to bring to the restaurant. You will need to convince yourself that you are capable of doing the job BEFORE you try to sell yourself to the hiring manager at the restaurant.
I'll walk you through this entire process so you can be more confident in yourself before your restaurant interview.
After you are convinced you can do the job, you will be able to follow the 4 steps outlined in the video to find a restaurant to begin working at.
I'm excited for you! Let us know how it goes and if you have any more questions I can answer for you...
Good luck in your interview,

    I was at an interview the other day, and I fully agree to not get on your phone. But- I feel creepy just sitting there watching people walk by. I know that’s stupid because I guess we’re just all used to people staring at a phone?? But I checked it once and answered a text because I literally felt like a creeper

    • @SharkiesPlayground
      @SharkiesPlayground 3 місяці тому

      I totally get this, I think the point was more so not to be consumed by your phone. Looking comfortable is just as important as looking present. It doesn’t take that much attention to send a quick reply. To avoid the creeper feeling Ill look at things like layout of the restaurant, where the computers are located, what does the bar look like, the colors of the walls. Counting glassware or some part of the wall design can be helpful for easing the anxiety of waiting, while giving you something at eye level to focus on so you don’t get/look bored as well.

    2:45 actually a really good tip, wear a watch and constantly check the time if you feel the need to check your phone or the time or something, it makes you look a little bit more formal and professional and also doesnt come off as you are bored and focusing your attention elsewhere, instead you look like a sophisticated individual on a time limit who maybe has other interviews after this one and your interviewer could very well take that into consideration.

      They literally are never ready for an interview because shouldn’t they already know that based on the resume? Most of the time they are even surprised someone is there for one. And always look confused like there is no communication ever… anywhere you apply.

    During the summertime, restaurants are very desperate. I was picking up an order as a doordash driver at a restaurant…manager right off the spot asks to hire me as a server..I did it for bit but it ended up being a toxic environment so I resigned. Be careful of restaurants that offer you the job immediately. It’s always a red flag. Summertime high school kids are on vacation and more jobs open up.
