Hydro engines need a o2 gen to produce hydrogen but you can just use batteries and charge them by connecting to your base
Congrats on getting an airborne vessel! Depending on what you’re setting this up for, will determine how many thrusters you’ll need. Ideally, you’ll want equal amounts of thrust in each direction, but you’ll likely need more for forward and backwards movement to allow you to slow down faster when fully laden with cargo, especially in atmosphere, since you’ll also be fighting gravity. A good way to tell if you have enough power to move your ship, is to fully fill the cargo container, then watch the power drain as you go upwards, forwards and a direction at the same time. If it maxes out and turns red, you don’t have enough power to run all engines and their efficiency will be reduced when you’re fully loaded with cargo. Don’t forget to add a gyro or two, ( ship size depending) and some armour blocks to protect those squishy, sensitive bits in the inevitable event of hitting things. You’re half way to space now. Keep going!
@@dolphinrapture I was so chuffed when it worked. 😁
It really is a quick game
Haha, yeah it's quite a chilled difficulty curve. I'm enjoying it.
Yooooo that last level of the desert was sooo juicy! So much loot!
Small tip. If you click in your right stick, you’ll get a little overlay on your machines. It’ll tell you at a glance what it’s producing, or if there is an issue. It’ll also change the colour of the machines if there is an issue, from green, to yellow, and then to red. Green- working as intended, Yellow- missing resources/ output is full. Red- recipe not set/ no power. As you start ramping up productions, inserter types will start to be more important, as will belt speed. Take note of how much product is being placed onto a belt, and how much a machine will need to finish its production queue. Any excess over that, is wise to store for later use, or store and then conveyor elsewhere if another machine needs it. Once you start upgrading speeds on production buildings, it’s wise to check back on previous automations to see if you need to improve, or even change layouts to accommodate the new production amounts from the upgrades.
The factory is coming on well sir!!!
Thank you very much Sir!
You're seriously good at the driving mini game. I cant have a run without crashing myself :(
@@anthonygoulet3919 Thanks!! It takes some getting used to!
You’ve gotten some cobalt, nice! You may have noticed that the assembler has more things from which you can build inside it, compared to the basic one. There’s some more advanced stuff you can now build, and with that, some will require new ores you might not have come across yet, and two you won’t find until you go space bound. Make sure, from now that all refining is done by the bigger refiner, as the returns are so much better than the basic one. You’ve also might’ve noticed, that the assembler and refiner have smaller squares on the sides of them. These are your upgrade slots. You can build upgrade modules to increase yield, power efficiency, and increase its speed. All of which will require some of the new items from your new assembler. With better machines in which to improve your resource gains, means you’ll need a larger power grid to run them. See if you can set up a solar tracker with what you’ve unlocked in the tech tree so far. Experiment. I’m pretty sure you have all you need to do so. :)
wait wait wait 2 months ago the crafting bench was still materials only? wow I live in luxury with that extra storage I get today
Haha! Great work!
Shiverthorn Coolant is going to be one of your best friends, so it’s a good idea to stockpile this early. It allows continual use of your Mole, as long as you have coolant as it stops it overheating. It’s definitely needed as you upgrade the mole to rip out ever larger amounts of terrain in quick succession for when you need extra space to expand your factory. Looking forward to how you start automating things further, as it does get hectic real quick, if you don’t leave room for planning for additional conveyor belts.
Do you not get hydrogen bottles in this scenario?
I don't think I had any when I landed. But I did create a couple while trying to work out what happened to my hydrogen, but there was one in the oxygen generator after I'd built it.
As you start to find more and more ore deposits, it’s definitely worth your while to start putting down GPS waypoints of what they are. Go into your GPS menu, then hit X for a quick waypoint, rename it and it’ll update. No more traipsing around trying to find that ore deposit you can’t remember exactly where it was. Once you’ve exhausted the vein, you can just delete the GPS to avoid UI clutter and returning to an already depleted vein, though I tend to rename it so I know it’s empty, rather than remove it completely. I’ve inadvertently thrown my buggy down a few holes a couple times in the dark because I removed the GPS. I have a feeling with the mention at the start of the video about the drill possibly being autonomous, it might be possible with AI blocks. I’ve not touched these, as I honestly don’t understand them well, but in theory, it might be possible with a drone miner, and to tell it to go to a location, mine some ores, have it return, dock, and unload, then go back out. I’ll need to experiment a bit. Just keep in mind, you’ll want the drone miner to still be able to hover and move when fully laden with ores. I’m pretty sure PC folks can use scripts to streamline this further and have the miner stay at home, if its battery charge is below a certain threshold. Not sure if console can do this, though. Now that you’ve got some ice, you really need that Cobalt. Many things require it in varying amounts in the form of metal grids and a few others items and is a necessity if you want to leave Earth. You’ll probably want to look at sorters soon to consolidate items in to their respective storages via White-listing. I tend to keep ingots and ores in one storage, and construction/building stuff in another and making sure they’re conveyored up to the buildings that make/use them. Just like your hand drill, when you use the drill on a vehicle, LT drills a larger hole, but doesn’t give you resources, RT drills a smaller hole, but you get the chunks. You’ll probably need to set up a group to use the drill on vehicles this way, though.
Yeah Cobalt is my blocker now, I can't remember if I passed any on my trip out or not. I could re-check the footage but wheres the fun in that! Also can't go anywhere until the refurb is complete! ;)

@@Robert-un9vo Space Engineers you mean? Or just in general?
Hydrogen comes from ice. When you start going space bound, Ice is one of the most crucial materials you’ll need. As it does both O2 and Hydrogen. You can speed up battery charging by turning the batteries into “recharge” mode. There are 3 options in the drop box. Auto-The Batteries default setting. It draws and uses power as needed. ( battery indicator is Green) Discharge-allows you to set the batteries to drain all charge and to power other items on the same grid. This setting will not allow any charge to come back to the batteries. ( battery indicator turns Red) Recharge- batteries will pull power from all available power sources to recharge themselves ( battery power indicator turns yellow. ) If you fancy a little bit of fiddling around, you can attach a curved conveyor to a piston, then a connector to the conveyor, and lower it down to the height of the connector port of the rover. That way it’ll be flush every time. This could also be a good time to start setting up item groups. In your control panel, you can set certain items to a group, save, then have that set to a hotkey to activate or deactivate. A good example would be to set your batteries to a group, then set the function to “recharge” To do this select your battery then hold down RB and select another battery with A. Both batteries should be highlighted in your control panel. Name the block group, then save it. Exit your control panel, then hold any direction on the D-pad. Another menu pops up. Find the group you just set up, so in the case of the batteries, select the option that is recharge on/off. Then confirm. Now, whenever your rover connects to the base, hit the direction on the d-pad you set up recharge with, and it’ll switch the batteries over to recharge once you lock to the base via the connector. ( you can do the same thing with the connector as well, though the option here is “switch lock”. Similar steps, but you don’t need to set it as a group.) Switch lock is handy, since it only tells that connector to lock. You may have some issues if you use Y, as sometimes anything else locked to a connector can also demagnetise from their connectors. Any questions, shout at me in discord, and I’ll happily explain further. :)
Good advice from a helpful Space Engineer! This is why I love the community.
Awesome episode. Regarding the guy who had the claim, or any character who has a claim, you can find their claims from the left circle of options. 1st select them to your left panel, then bring up the circle options then select titles. You should also see their avatar instead of yours in the centre of the circle options. When you see claims like this, make a note of their name. You can usually easily find them in your court, or if they are a vassal, go to the left panel for your own character, then change the family sub panel to vassals.😊😊😊😊
Thanks! Appreciate that, hopefully next time I'll be able to do something about it!
Wow a nes Kingdom, and early on. You are not having much luck though. I would avoid declaring another holy war as count, as its not allies you have to worry about, anyone of the same faith can join simply because its a holy war. Its better to use holy wars when you have massive alliances of your own, or are a very powerful duke or king. I would build up the two counties that you have, increase your economy and get control up.
Hey Praggers Gaming! I'm a small youtuber like you, i wonder if you'd like to collab on Crusader Kings 3! and work together!
Thanks for reaching out, but I'm not really ready to a collab, Sorry.
Congratulations to your very first rotor!😄 A rotor will spin freely if turned off. Breaking torque can be set but the break is only applied when the rotor is switched off. An engineer will usually change a rotors velocity rather than turning it off while drilling. Large grid rotors have a max of 30rpm, small grid rotors have a max of 60rpm. By the way: The rotor has the option "add small head", which, if you grind away the regular head, allows you to build off of a large grid rotor with small blocks. This mechanic also applies to hinges. Conveyor pipes don't have any connection points along their sides, so you can place blocks beside them but they won't be connected. I strongly recommend using armored conveyors. They are much tougher and you can build off of them properly since they have connection points all around. This will also make building a stairwell down the shaft, spiraling around the conveyors much easier.
Colouration of different items on your control panel, tells you which items belong to which sub grids. Your base will be one colour, your rover would also be a separate colour when connected up, and your drill will also be a different colour. Iirc a rotor acts as a separator to the main grid and anything beyond that becomes a sub grid, hence why the drill is a different colour. As for why the stone isn’t passing through, it’s possible that the rotor head could be damaged, or the rotor itself. Check that to see if it is damaged below functional. The rotor looked like it was still on when turned off, as it doesn’t just suddenly stop, it slows down gradually and then stops moving. You could tweak your rotor setup slightly by attaching a curved conveyer to the base of it, and then connect the piston to that, then the drill. In theory, you could set up the rpm on the rotor to synergise with the piston extension, so that it clears away stone as it extends and rotates, though this is more effective with sensors to control the piston extension after each full rotation of the drill and rotor.
Glad your having fun Praggers! Totally mess with hinges and rotors down in your mine. You can easily add a sweeping or rotational motion to your drill. And while you're at it, you should attach the long conveyor pipe leading down to the voxels (replace some Conveyor Pipes with: Conveyor Junctions/Armored Conveyors/Cargo Containers). This will save you some bother if you manage to blow things up down there... 😅 You don't necessarily need to build stairs down the mine. You can, of course but be sure to have them connected to a powered grid. Otherwise they will de-spawn if you get too far away. I'd just clear out a smoother path with my hand drill until I have enough resources to spare and then build a proper entrance and lit path down.
Nice to know you have a two year maternity period in your village 😂
I know right!! it would be nice.
Great video. Tips, avoid raising an army for an unwinnable war like that. 1 as it drains your gold to pay the men, then also to recruit and recover your men at arms afterwards, 2 puts your knights/faris at risk of being killed or injured. This leads me to my next tip, you can deny or allow access to your courtiers who can be knights/faris. Great for preventing an heir going in to battle, especially if they have low duelling skill. Not sure why you could not surrender earlier, did not see you go to the screen that lets you see if you can surrender. Regarding the letters from the Duke of Anjou, I would have jumped on that and exchanged letters. Gaining a friend that is a duke would be very good. In my humble opinion I would also had opted to get that claim on the Duchy of Brittany. Glad you got the Patriarch trait. One way of getting free people in to your court is by arranging marriages with your courtiers.
Adding to this. Have an idea where YOU want to have your battles. For instance, forcing your enemy to cross a river AND fight you on a hill gives them a lot of debuffs to their combat effectiveness, but gives you positives, more so if your army composition has Men-at-Arms that favour the terrain in which you are defending from. In most cases, given your knights prowess, and army composition as well, you can at times decimate armies 3-4X your own. Side tip. Don’t fight battles right after you land from a sea voyage onto a coastal tile with enemies on. You get a pretty hefty debuff if you do.
Think of your rover as a separate power grid to your main base. As it stands, your rover cannot recharge unless it has its own way to charge itself ( solar panels) or connecting it to your base via connectors. You’ll need two, one for the rover, and one for the base. You can alter the top speed of your rover, as well as which wheels deal with the turning and how sensitive they are to turning. 50Km/h is a nice speed for Earth, 180Km/h is too high given your spawn zone is rather hilly, though I usually run at around 35% power as 60% is a bit much for what you’ll be using the rover for. Raise your wind turbine up above your base as it’s not looking like you are getting full power from it as turbines need at least 8 blocks of space along its X and Z axis to get its full output. It looks like one of your solar panels might be interfering with its power output, so you could try raising up the turbine by another 4-5 blocks or so for some breathing room. Always keep in mind where you are going to expand your base out to, as production buildings get very large, as do some of the storages for Hydrogen and Oxygen. Loving the series. ❤
I absolutely agree. You also might want to turn breaking off on the front wheels. You could also go for a six wheeler. If you are gonna carry loads with it, your rover might get longer. Adding a gyroscope will let you correct vehicle orientation when driving off a sudden cliff or when you've managed to flip your rover over. 😁 (Now I'm hoping you won't read this LOL)
Was not expecting you to change religion. You may want to convert the religion in your counties, though if you do I do think it takes a while.
When you access an inventory, change the active filter on the right half of the screen. (next to the little helmet icon)
You can keep on adding conveyors to extend the reach of the drill, or you can dabble with rotors and hinges to have the drill sweep a large area. With using hinges/rotors, you can set up the piston to extend gradually after each full rotation of the rotor with a sensor. Takes a little bit of setting up, but you can have the sensor extend the piston bit by bit so the drill can keep drilling all the stone as it extends to its maximum reach. I don’t think you have access to sensors yet, though. The sensor looks like a circle with a rectangular strip on it.
@@dolphinrapture well that is delightful!! I'm. In the middle of another project at the moment, you see the start in the next episode. 😁
Marrying your daughter is a good idea, but to a count or duke level character, not someone of royal linage. That's too far up. This holy war, I would run, run and run. Let the take that county while you have your forces disbanded, saves you money while the base of your army grows back up in strength. If she doesn't force a fight to your main counties, up to you you play it, but i'd just let her take the county. If she plays to get anything else by going for any other county, defend it, get some mercs if you can afford it after freshly raising a new army go defend. If you try to get back that county, worried that others will just declare holy wars for it, and you'll be drained in to unwanted wars.
Oh. I wanted a nuke today.
Wow, two wars already. So eager.
Prestige, yay! Spend it wisely. Wait for a squabble to occur so that your target is busy, preoccupied or has weakened forces.
There is no need to dig down through stone for ages. As soon as you hit stone, mine it as close to the surface as possible. Use a large grid drill on pistons and dig vertically/horizontally into the stone. Make sure to have everything connected to the conveyor network. The collector collects best, when things fall into it. If your collector were pushed down a little with a piston replacing some conveyor tubes then you might get the collector to function. Its suction range is very limited.
@@Dagonius. Ahh ok.
The refinery wasn't connected to the base. It was attached to the panel you ground down and stayed in place as a static grid. Just like your base is a static grid. The red light on the top of the refinery indicates having no power. Since the base has power as your (short and lonely😄) wind turbine is turning, but the refinery is silent and showing a red light, therefore the refinery has no connection. The assembler had the exact same issue as the refinery. Every (Large Grid-) block you place occupies a full cube of space: 2.5m x 2.5m x 2.5m Depending on which side of the grid you place your block defines where no other block has any room. If you use full cubes of armour or interior blocks (which are cheaper) you will find it easier to understand the building system. Using steel plates in the beginning can be very confusing. I wouldn't recommend using them as main building blocks. Interior blocks have so many interesting features and looks. The Basic Assembler can also disassemble... You regain it's raw materials. "Construction Comp." is a sturdy box with lots of bits and bobs like screws and washers and nuts and bolts,... "Construction Components" The yellow conveyor ports can be connected to each other or via conveyor tubes etc. The material and gas flow either direction through such a network. Sorters can be used to restrict or allow certain things to pass. You can access the whole network when accessing a conveyors inventory. Have a look at the two icons above the right inventory list. if you click on the box-icon next to the helmet-icon you can see all inventories connected and move materials around. This also helps in finding faulty connections like you had with your refinery and the conveyor tube corner. Keep going! You'll get there!
@@Dagonius. Appreciate the reponse. I'll take a look at the conveyor stuff next time I'm on. My biggest blocker currently is cobalt which I need to find but I think i need to move the ore finder onto my base.
@@praggersgamingukonce you get the tech unlocked, you should start making a rover. You can attach an ore detector to it and that’ll help increase the detection range of ores to around 50m. You only need to construct a landing gear to get started with vehicles. It all flows from there. Use small grid blocks to lay down the foundation of your rover a few blocks above the landing gear. Size will depend on what you’re using it for. Add a cockpit, storage, wheels ( 4 or 6, choice is yours ) a battery or 2, and a connector so you can attach it to the base to recharge it, and an ore detector. Make sure you name the items on the rover grid, so it’s easier to differentiate its components from the ones on your base’s grid when you’ve connected it to it. Once you get to space and get moon bound, you’ll need to consider a O2/H2 generator to keep you alive in the cockpit, but you’ll need a steady supply of ice for it to function, as well as power. Just be sure to adjust the speed settings on the wheels once you finish, as default does seem to be a little too quick. Once you get the hang of building a rover, you could then design something a bit larger like a mining ship. This will allow you to mine and move larger quantities of materials. Keep it up, you’re doing well.
Thanks, funnily enough, making a rover was going to be my next project, as i said in the comment above, i need cobalt to make the wire mesh which i need for the next assembler and refiner. so was thinking about getting a rover built to allow me to go a bit further and maybe gather more in the way stone and build stuff faster.
Good start for Ragnarr, and picking new councillors. Count level activities can be slow, as you typically have less resources early on.
First get that pod flying and find a lake.
Re living my start.
Tech unlocks as you build prerequisites, so, basic refiner and basic assembler open up basic things, one of them being batteries. Batteries open up a lot more techs in the tech tree. Check the seat of the drop pod for a weapon and a data pad, the data pad will ping for you the nearest Point of interest that is an outpost, from which you can take on missions, trade, etc. It can be relatively close, or a good few Kilometres away. Once you’ve gotten power to the base and a basic refiner set up and a battery or 2, start refining all the stone here for the better returns, however the basic refiner can only process Iron, Nickel and cobalt ores. Gold and beyond, you’ll need its bigger brother. The basic assembler can make more stuff than the survival kit can, and like the refiner, it’s older cousin, the assembler, can assemble the more complex items you’ll need for the more complex items for base building and ship building. Keep the survival kit on your pod until you’re certain you can move it to a more permanent location. As no survival kit, no respawn point. Some base items have connection ports. The size of the port, will restrict what items can pass through them, once you have a conveyer system set up. Typically, small conveyers allow ores, ingots, ammo, and small base construction items. Large ones will allow pretty much everything. Conveyor systems might sound daunting at first, especially when you start to white list and black list things, but it allows you to just land at a connector, connect to it, and the conveyors will move things where they need to go from your ship/rover storage, to base storage. From there, you could then pipe up to your assemblers and refiners and queue up items from the refiner and assembler and it’ll get pulled from the storages, saving you the hassle of carrying it all over manually.
Perfecto, thank you! The refiner doesn't process stone though does it? and I've not found any ore veins, yet, but I believe there is an ore finder on the drop pod. I'll check the drop pod chair for that POI as well.
@@praggersgaminguk the drill you have can also detect ores, but the range isn’t great. About 15-20 meters. I think the basic refiner can do stone, I’m happy to be corrected, though, should I be wrong.
That was unlucky that West Francia became and ally to Brittany after you declared war. With that 500 right at the start id started building my domains. For lifestyle i'd have gotten the casus bellum trait first before declaring any wars, then declare a county war on the county of Leon. Then marry Ragnarr to Bergbora. This all before pressing play. I'd also sway the most negative relationship of my council members. That's me though.
@@Rosasgamer yeah I was doing the swaying.

I’m chill with this series just being about building up your village.
This looks like a fun game :)
I've really enjoyed playing it. I'd definitely recommend playing it if you enjoyed what you've seen.
m yes.
@@Maxnetite thanks for your comment.

There’s just something about finding a quest item in your inventory isn’t there? 😅😂
@@davsbrander you make it sound like I knew it was there all the time!!
10:28 Bro was drooling over you 😂. Also your voice sounds like Bart form this like very similar.
He was def creeping for me!!
Great gameplay👍
Thank you 👍 I've been enjoying the game!
@@praggersgaminguk you welcome👍
Hi Praggers! Home System was used to be called Star System. I wasn't aware of all the changes Keen made to the Start menu. Since you want a start and a finish to your playthrough I would either go for - Never surrender (The goal is already set but the scenario will rip beginners apart like nothing) - Home System (Learn the game at your own pace, explore to see what's out there and if you need to spice things up, you can) Understand, that Space Engineers doesn't have to, but is supposed to be modded. Keen works actively together with the modding community. This is how you spice things up. I like to keep the game mostly vanilla but have certain quality of life mods like - Build vision - Build info - Paint gun - I do have a weapons mod pack because it included a tiny little (small grid) 1x1x1 Gatling turret which I think should be vanilla anyway. If you didn't know: My go to Space Engineers Mentor is "Splitsie" He has great tutorials, too. (I watched Splitsie for a very long time before I even had a Computer to play SE on) You do you! I'll watch regardless. Have fun!😉
Great vid😇
I started with this Scenario, then Crashed Red Ship, but I got some settings wrong and I was on the only asteroid in the whole universe. It was full of gold! Loads and loads of gold! I eventually mapped out the space around me and set antennas in a North/East/West/South fashion as far as 500 kilometers. Then I flew into the sun with my jet pack, until I died. Then I had a go at "Star System" and got to learn how to survive. I think it took me 3 attempts to be safe. Here I am, 4 years later and I'm still playing my "first" survival playthrough. I remember leaving the Earthlike planet for the very first (and last) time. With my very first spacecraft! The Galatea Mk1.1. I have learnt so much and I'm still learning all the time. I haven't even fiddled much with certain things yet. At the moment I am building an Asteroid Base exactly half way between Earthlike and Mars. I'm gonna run pipes n gadgets n stuff all wrapping around the asteroid as if they were sucking it dry. This Repair Hanger/Mining Station/Communications Relay will come in handy very soon... This game always gets me excited. You can do whatever the heck you want!🥰
Thanks for the reply, i appreciate you taking the to comment. I've really enjoyed what I was playing in this scenario as when I play these sorts of games i really do need the nudge in a direction on something to aim for.
@@praggersgaminguk My goal is to visit and build on every planet and every moon, before heading back to Earthlike. After that I might go online. Or not. Who knows.
I’m looking forward to the final part of this playthrough. First Jump is a nice tutorial for the basics, though a lot of things can be discovered by just experimenting. For instance, you can set up a mining ship with drills that can automatically pull stone out via sorters by whitelisting stone and you can then have conveyers spit these out whenever you mine stone along with ores, but just leave the ores in your storages. Helps a ton once you’ve gotten the main assembly and refineries going. I am running a couple of mods, a couple cosmetic ones for the UI and skybox, and the others are just extending the range of the ore detector as base game one is such a short range and doubling the max speed you can go.
Ahh cool!
Nice, next episode: 5 min long fight and its over... yeah if u didnt die there u would have finished this. XD Anyway, did u know u can zoom in with turrets... AND HOW DID U NOT USE A SINGLE RIFLE THE WHOLE TIME !!! WHAT bruh
@@HerrDrHuhn thansk dude. Is there another mission after this one? Or is that it all done? I'm thinking I might do a series on the game, any recommendations on how to start? I need to set out a set target for something to achieve. Do the series doesn't run on and on and on...
@@praggersgaminguk Yes that is the last Mission. The best way to start and get into the game after that is probably Playing Survival in the world "solar System": build a base, build ships, gather resources...and more. If u however want a Target Its also possible to play "Never Surrender", its just like survival but u get a gps marker telling u a place to defend: u can build your giant battle ship and go there, BUT once u are there its endless waves of drones (there are Achievements for 1000 drones and 30 waves or so) The "learnig to survive" teaches u a lot but most things u need to learn Yourself or with YT tutorials. Its also not super easy and rather challenging especially at the end (cool people build drones and never go to the planet to destroy the base for the Achievement if thats the Challenge u seek) And last there ist the Frostbite Scenario wich I really like (It even has voice acting by some of the game developers). Its about 5-8 h depending on how much u know about the game and what places u visit or skip (if u play this its recommended to have some backup save cause enemies sometimes do kamikaze or play with a friend) I dont know much about mods on console but there are many that make the game so much better(if interested u shoud check out one of the newest videos of "Zer0's legion" if those mods are available go for it) And maybe u can also check out some of the PvP scenarios with your Community or so. There is for example: a racing mode, battle in space, a capture the flag mode and more games made by players I hope i was able to help u with your choice :) (sorry if some part are not correctlie in English)
