Hi sir. Quick question. With this by pass it is this a permenent or temporary? Can you actually replace the relay so you don’t have to by pass?
Hi quick question. Fuel pump only runs at the time you start the vihecle and shut off while the vehicle is running right? When you said if you fuel pump keeps running while the car is off. That is noticeable right, because they will making the sound or hum? Can you replace the fuel pump relay and will solve the relay issue so you don’y have to by pass it or is it the relay slot on the tipm is the problem that is why you have to by pass? I have a stalling problem. But i know its not my relay or my fuel pump. Because i hear the pump turns on when i start the vehicle.
All of our parts either closely match or exactly match the OEM configuration for power to the fuel pump in the different key positions. TIPM bypass cables have never been considered long term solutions as we see edge case issues in warmer weather (the cables can melt). Yes, you can usually hear your fuel pump if you're in a quiet environment. Yes you can replace the actual faulty fuel pump relay, but we use a microscope and you'll need to solder/desolder parts on a circuit board. I would recommend you jump over to VerticalVisions.com where there is a great deal of information on this issue that is more current.
My 2011 ram1500 has a check engine light but it now starts, wired the exact same way.
If you can read the code using an OBDII scanner, report back and I'll try to help.
@ thank you. I wanted to update after driving around for 8 miles it turned off and all is well.
Thank you for the video it really helped, its been about two weeks that my van has been draining the battery. Until came accross this video and found a solution.
Just had to do this to my 2011 dodge ram, it had been a mystery for a couple days and every mechanic was stumped. It would just crank no start, the only way I could get it running was jumping the battery (new battery) the fuel pump relay is the issue
The science behind this is fuel pump relays work better at higher voltages. Starting your vehicle means you're using battery voltage only at 12.0-12.5 VDC. If you are jump starting using a new battery or another vehicle, you're applying a higher voltage and an intermittently faulty relay will usually have a better chance of switching properly to allow power to flow to the fuel pump. 2011 Ram trucks are our #2 worst for fuel pump relay issues. VerticalVisions.com
Symptoms point to bad relay. Shop said the same (although I don't trust their expertise). "Canadian Tire" is not very reliable. I did try a bypass, but it didn't work. (Only had access to 15A, not 20A though). Thoughts? I'm in Canada...not sure if you ship here.
I bought and installed this jumper and it didn't make any difference. After removing the bypass jumper and putting the fuses back in as normal I noticed the voltage at M25 (both sides of the fuse) when cranking was only about 10.5 volts. Is this normal or what would it indicate? The battery voltage was up to 13.46 volts so that wasn't the problem.
If you bought your cable from us, please visit VerticalVisions.com and send us an email. We're happy to support our customers. Otherwise, 10.5 VDC during engine cranking would be on the low end. Normal battery voltage is 12.0-12.7 VDC, but during engine cranking the starter load can reduce battery voltage slightly. The 13.46 battery voltage seems quite high unless you're measuring while the vehicle is running (alternator supplying voltage). If you still can't start with a CONSTANT 10.5 VDC on M25 during engine cranking, then the relay might be faulty in that it will not switch at that voltage. I would also suggest a fuel pump test using the cable (we provide detailed instructions with our parts on how to do this), if you can't start using a properly connected TIPM cable. We no longer use the M7 to M25 connection method, but our written instructions will show you the new connection method that might also be your solution.
Just did it now to my van and it worked perfectly fine ! Had mine on cigarette lighter as mentioned before. In the beginning it was working, after a month it stopped, but now all is working. Thank you !
Have you tackled dodge no bus on..thousands of folks having this problem. Seems like a different fix for all of them.dodge Should of recalled all that crap really p....d off
Any solutions for a 2010 dodge ram ?
Unfortunately, there are not any easy solutions for a 2010 Ram. Read this: verticalvisions.com/en/content/21-basics-of-bypassing-testing-relays
I have a 2010 dodge ram 2500 will this work because I keep seeing it works for 2011-2012
No. Here's why: verticalvisions.com/en/content/21-basics-of-bypassing-testing-relays
Changed fuel pump & got the fuel bypass wire.... Still doesn't start. Any suggestions?
Pefrorm a fuel pump test using the wire and listen for the pump operating when the vehicle is off. If the pump won't turn on, it could be a rusted fuel pump ground wire or damaged fuel pump connector near the tank. Of course, there are dozens of other things that can cause a vehicle no start situation. Fuel and spark are the most critical.
I have a 2010 3.7l ram 1500 and only sometimes, when I turn the key, my truck tries to turn over then keeps on cranking and shaking until I remove key. Then I'll try again and she fires right up. Does anyone know what this could be?
It could be your fuel pump relay, but your year/make/model makes it more difficult to confirm and test for it. Read this: verticalvisions.com/en/content/21-basics-of-bypassing-testing-relays
Hi , bay pass for indicator lights it’s possible ?
Anyone know how to keep the remote start working. Mine disabled once I did this
We've had better cable connection locations for the last 5-6 years. If you order from us (verticalvisions.com), we send color hardcopy instructions that show you where to connect.
Hello! I just wanted to ask if it's compatible with a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country Limited.
Unfortunately, we have not tested anything on your vehicle yet. Here is a great web page to determine if a TIPM cable might work for you: verticalvisions.com/en/content/21-basics-of-bypassing-testing-relays
I say before I go through all of that, I just go and buy a couple relays and keep it in my glove box
Perfect 👍👍
Assuming this is the result of cheap china labor.
Also , you no offer a module that goes from m37 to m25 . Can the wire to the same as the module?
So you need to cycle acc back and forth before start?
No need.
@ why not use m21 fuse instead. It retains remote starts . No issues starting overnight
@@cesarsaavedra3095 Because the orientation of a TIPM cable would require the extra 9 amps from the fuel pump to be drawn across the existing M21 fuse, possibly overloading the ASD circuit.
@ thank you i will keep that in mind . Ive been running it without issue do far. 4 hour trip without issue wire not warm .
Just got mine so far love the results, got the one with the test wire to make sure I fixed the issue
Mr. Bell can you please tell me do you think M7 is a better fuse to use than the M21 fuse? And thank you for this great video, I purchased your wire two years ago. 😊
Neither is the best. We no longer use M7 and we have never used M21. The best slots are those that are mentioned in our color instructions, which you would have received if you bought directly from us.
Can you please show how to design an external fuel pump relay? Which 4 wires controlling since I dont have a wiring diagram. I really value and appriciate your VIDEO.
No problem. Go here: verticalvisions.com/en/content/12-external-fuel-pump-relay-installation
Thanks to your video I was able to limp my truck home, order the bypass, and finally have a well deserved beer. Much appreciation 😅😅
Thanks for this very good video.
@anniepomo1939 11 seconds ago I have the 2011 jeep grand cherokee overland, i do not have TIPM problem yet, but id like to invest in your bypass cable for when it happens can you send me more information on it please and price

This is the best page to see which product best fits your needs: verticalvisions.com/en/content/14-tipm-fuel-pump-relay-solutions. Just make sure you don't already have an external fuel pump relay installed: verticalvisions.com/en/content/7-external-fuel-pump-relay-basics
I have an issue with my 2017 3.6 durango. Sometimes it doesnt wanna start, i just tap the fuse and it starts right up, usually for months, then again it comes back, tap again and it starts….would this be a good idea to install? Wondering how long my tapping solution will work for…also, are these fuses same numbers for a 2017? Seems like a lot of this is for a 2013 model. And yes, i replaced the fuse, and it still happens, actually wapped the fuse with horn fuse, horn works fine still…thanks in advance
Excellent video! A few big questions on my mind, does doing the bypass negatively affect anything? Will it burn up other circuits and relays? Is it a suitable long term fix?
My 2012 town and country is overheating and I all ready change sensors and Relay and All fan ect and it doesn’t kick in Hi when temperatures hit 1/2 it keeps rising ,can you provide a video where I can bypass and keep the fan on at all while the ignition switch is on !! Really need it Solve a long time Thanks
Fans are a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal where the power is turned on and off very fast over time, often via a MOSFET. I don't believe you can easily bypass this easily.
Just unplug the fuel pump hose and turn they key on
Great the best explanation for this problem thank you
Just seeing this. Bought a 2012 ram 1500 hemi and last 2 days coming to a stop at slow speed it shit off out in park started right back up. No codes are showing what could it be
verticalvisions.com/en/content/29-stalling-while-driving
Yeah but my real question is I have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.6 l gets power to the fuel pump because the vehicle starts up and runs however under hood fuse box fuse number m25 for the fuel pump relay has no power at Idaho whether it's running off Kiana engine off doesn't matter what combination there's no power at it at all you just get ground but the truck starts right up sometimes it won't but most of the time it starts right up
You have an external fuel pump relay. More here: verticalvisions.com/en/content/7-external-fuel-pump-relay-basics. Suggest you replace your external relay, which takes around 5 minutes total.
I've found my problem after buy a NEW tipm box for 1,000$ I discovered upon taking out the old box ..that there is already a bypass on it !!!! The part where the fuel relay goes is is damaged and burnt terribly!!!! I want to remove the bypass and put the wires back into the harnesses to insert into the NEW TIMP BOX
2019 dodge Durango work?
Yes. verticalvisions.com/en/182-durango
Will this work on a 2014 ram 2500 ive been chasing a intermittent long start issue for a while and beginning to think this may be the issue
Yes. verticalvisions.com/en/255-1500
Have you ever had any issues with these fuses melting? I had one of these on my ram 1500 and the M7 side melted and would cause the truck to stall upon key turn. Not sure if this is the root issue, however the relay has been a known issue
Yes. Here's why: verticalvisions.com/en/content/24-fuse-slot-hot-spots
I bought the bypass cable to just keep for myself as a fast test tool. I also purchased the Relay System Lite for the 2013 Durango last week that I was troubleshooting the crank no start problem and found out the fuel pump wasn't turning on. I checked it with my multimeter and had no voltage at my power output coming out of my fuel pump relay. I used my own bypass wire and no problem firing up the Durango. So I knew it was the relay that gave out. Here in Hawaii the auto parts stores don't have a 20 amp add a fuse, only 10 amps with thin gauge wire. I know people make their own but I found out it's easier to just go online to this website and order one, at least with my own wire I could move the SUV around here in my gauge if I needed to. Then I decided to go with the Relay System Lite since it seems to me as a better option than a bypass cable but I wanted a cable to use as a fast tester. No problem with the Relay System Lite. Just pull your 20 amp and 10 amp fuses and put them into the Relay System Lite circuit board and plug the board where the 2 fuses were and that's it. The owner of this Durango did call the local Dodge dealership and they told her they would call her when they get a relay kit in for the recall and call her up for an appointment. I told her don't hold her breath. I told her I could easily install my own external relay for her but I told her it would void the recall if I did it. So for now, this is the solution I find is the way to go. Chrysler doesn't seem to care that their customers have jobs and they need their vehicles to get them to work and other places, can't wait around until they call.
Thanks so much for the video it works.
Excellent work
Will the remote start work with the lite and/or the TIPM system?
Yes.
2016 jeep grand cherokee 3.6?
verticalvisions.com/en/267-grand-cherokee
Is this a permanent fix? Is it necessary to install the "Safety recall R09 / NHSTA 15V-115 FUEL PUMP RELAY"
TIPM cables have never been a permanent fix. You need not install any recalls for our bypass devices to work.
Hi I was curious to know what resistor you used inline for the led, I have all of these parts here and can easily make the cable. My Durango failed today 2020 @ 49000 miles. I wanted to test it before I send it to the shop for warranty.
Typically a 1 kOhm resistor on the red (+) wire
What is the situation for a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.6 which one do I need in which fuses do I use because I have the exact problem right now and they're trying to get me to replace the whole system
verticalvisions.com/en/267-grand-cherokee
Thank you for this!!
Will the fuel pump run if the relay is bad
Yes. 20-25% of our customers experience a "stuck on" fuel pump relay which runs the fuel pump with the vehicle off. This will drain your battery in a few hours.
Crap didn’t work!!
