      John , I do not see the reason for your comment. I made it clear that I oppose torture and executions in the name of religion. My point about mentioning "only 20,000" was to refute the lies that between 50 and 90 million were killed. I wish it were zero, but it sadly wasn't. I hope you also consider it shameful that millions of Catholics died because of their faith during the reigns of Henry VII, Elizabeth 1, Cromwell, the French Revolution, Napoleon, the Mexican and Spanish Civil Wars, under Nazism and Communism, etc. These victims deserve re-assurance as well. Persecution is not and has never been a Catholic monopoly. Regards, Robert

      @roberthaddad7850 20,000 seems like a very low number...historians on the high end estimate 20k Protestants being killed in the St. Bartholomew Day massacre alone which actually lasted for several days. massacre became known as the Piedmont Easter. An estimate of some 1,700 Waldensians were slaughtered; the massacre was so brutal it aroused indignation throughout Europe....many more could be listed.

      As for Henry numbers are often quite overexagerated by Catholics mainly because Pilgrimage of Grace (which could be called Northern Rebellion as peaceful pilgrims don’t besiege castles and kill people), The catholic version would have you believe its 50k+. After Pilgrimage of Grace, Henry VIII actually only executed its leaders- about 220 men in total.

    • @Adam-ue2ig
      @Adam-ue2ig День тому

      @@roberthaddad7850As for Elizabeth only 189 killed...so your millions of Catholics killed figure the vast majority of them were not killed by Protestants...it seemed you may have been trying to lump it all together. I might also point out Bloody Mary Killed about 300 Protestants to Elizabeth killing 187...not to go tit for tat I'm just saying if you are Catholic you may have a tendency to underemphasize the Protestant killings and overestimate the total of Catholics killed and vice versa if Protestant. AS for Cromwell no doubt Catholics were being persecuted yet much of the killing happened after the 1641 Irish Rebellion in which thousands of Protestants were massacred. This seemed to spur on or contribute to Cromwell reaction.

      John, Dr. Haddad’s point was that the Catholic Church’s abuses of power in history Get exaggerated and singled out-as wrong as they were and are-even though they pale in comparison to anti-religious powers’ and some other religious powers’ abuses in numbers. And you have proven his point.

    6 And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace. (‭‭‭Romans‬ ‭11‬‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬) 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. (‭‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬) - to answer your question, it is through faith that saves us. Not our works. its the faith that we have in Jesus that leads us to love others and keep the commandments. If there was no loving, their was no faith to begin with. They come hand in hand, not separate deeds that we have to accomplish. What saves us is Jesus, not our own works. His grace was the GIFT of life that he gave us - grace that we don't deserve. It wouldn't be a gift if we had to work for it!

      Jesus tells us we must obey the law (the commands) - Mathew 7:21-23, 21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

    • @J.Y_
      @J.Y_ 20 годин тому

      would you like to respond to my points I wrote above about works or not? Please don't ignore the bible verses. They are Gods word Secondly, the message in Matthew presents as True vs False disciples. Those who are true would have faith and keep Gods commands and do the will of the Father - as I mentioned what having true faith is in my original comment. Those false disciples would be lawless / evil doers whilst claiming they are true believers - have lack of faith. Linking to my first comment, those with Faith shouldn't lean on themselves or earthly things but on God. To do his will, not ours. Thus, we should look at priests or some biblical leaders who might say “‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭22. Maybe they are those who do these things

    • @PSALM_XXIII
      @PSALM_XXIII 20 годин тому

      I was responding to your points above, with another Bible verse. So I could accuse you of the same thing. What about 2 James 14-26. The problem you have, is you disagree with the Church that infallibly gave you the Canon of the New Testament. You can't use a Catholic book as your source of Truth, unless you concede the Catholic Church is the source of the infallible Truth.

    • @J.Y_
      @J.Y_ 18 годин тому

      @@PSALM_XXIII responding would be replying to the points I wrote with some thoughtful response with a bible verse to back that up. Not just pasting a bible verse and leaving it at that. Shouldn’t u being doing this regularly? Seems like you just want to move on from what i said. Well what are your thoughts on what I said? Do you have to work for the gift of Gods grace for your salvation? And thank you for bringing James 2 up “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”v 17‬ “You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.” ‭‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭22‬ ‭ Faith and action work hand in hand. They are not seperate. If you claim to have faith but no actions/work/fruit are shown, was there any faith to begin with? “Is dead” “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” ‭‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭26‬ ‭NIV‬ Thus James explains how they are intertwined. With true faith in Jesus, there will be fruit shown. Faith comes first, then With faith comes fruit. Not the other way around “You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.” ‭‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭24‬ ‭NIV‬‬ - this verse emphasises on how people are considered RIGHTEOUS, but how are we saved? “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

      @@PSALM_XXIII annnnnnd the Catholic Church who originally was good - until they put the Church above the Bible - the Bible that is Gods word that is God breathed. The Church which is run by Humans, humans who all are all Sinful. There is no denying that - unless you put those at the same purity of Jesus. Whereas Gods word is pure and 100% factual and correct. Putting the Church above the bible - why? To have control? To have power over the people? Why put theology secondary to human hands? How can sinful people be more important than Gods Word? - see how having power and control under sinful humans never ends perfectly? Catholic Priests and sinful acts against children. The current Catholic Church which continues to change their narrative because sinful humans now are obliged to alter and follow the sinful world - eg. the pope agreeing with same sex marriage. It’s says the exact contrary in the bible. So the pope now has more of a say than the bible? Incredible if upon agree with this

    Christendom ended with the collapse of the Kaiserreich, Tsardom, The Hasburgs and even the Ottomans to an extent. It doesn’t have to stay ended tho, in the East we have the resurgence of the Russian Orthodox Church. If we had a Catholic Revival in Central Europe and and a Protestant Revival in North America. Then again we would have our Christendom restored. It isn’t this way, but it should be this way. Navigating the path to it however is the difficult part.

Even Mother Mariana de Jesus invoke her under this title. I even have a friend that is from Niagara. So she's speaks Spanish and English. She told me it can been Good Success or Event. But it's been for centuries in English has been Good Success I have been promoting this Devotion for these times for over 2o years. And Our Lady of Good Success told Mother Mariana that those that promote this Devotion, Our Lady will Bless those with Good Success. Meaning spiritually!!! "O Star of the Sea of my mortal life May your light shine upon me that I do not stray from the path that leads me to Heaven.,,". - from the Testament of Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres.

    • @roberthaddad7850
      @roberthaddad7850 3 дні тому

      Dear Wilson, The statue of Our Lady of Success is in Quito, Ecuador. It is a statue but not an idol. Statues only become idols when a person either worships the statue itself as a god or regards the statue as a representation of a false god. Catholics do not worship statues nor are Catholic statues representations of gods, rather simply 3-d representations of the friends of Christ (Saints). According to Catholic teaching, Mary is only a creature, albeit the greatest creature after Christ's human nature. She is not a goddess nor worshipped as such. For anyone to assert otherwise is to falsely accuse Catholics, which, sadly, Protestants often do. God bless.

One is feminism and the other you mentioned the creed “One uniting church “ Jesus has been asking us for more than 2000 years orthodox baptist Maronites Melkite’s etc and we can’t !!!! Covid came around churches were closed and every single church was closed they all united

      @roberthaddad7850 9 днів тому

      Elvis, Yes, I remember you. Good to hear from you. We are all meant to be united but we are not due to human pride and sin. Christ set up one Church under the leadership of St Peter with the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven to bind and loose (Matt. 16:18ff). This Church still exists today under the 265th successor to St Peter. This Church has many, many problems but that is no excuse to leave it or start up one of our own. Yes, feminism is a huge problem, among many other things. The way the world is today, only God can save us. God bless.

    Why all these things are happening because the Catholic Church did what they wanted all are man made prayers then where is Gods Commandments where does the Holy Bible say to pray to Mary did Jesus say NO these are Catholic Church going against God where is Gods Calender and how does a day start from Sundown to Sundown where is Gods Festivals and Shabbat Holy and sanctified Genesis ch 2 all these are not done what did Jesus say Iam the Lord of the Shabbat why is Shabbat so important? You people do not know and Islam and Mohammad does the Koran say about the Shabbat No Though these things will come God knows his children the Jewes and also the chosen Genentiles for the Messianic Kingdom and that is why all these are done by the satanic people who are not chosen so many will get caught and will turn to Islam as they don’t know Elohim our God who is still in control of the world

    Islam is pre-medieval and theocratic? My memory is that Augustine and Aquinas both supported monarchy as the best form of government. That the traditional role of the Christian monarch was to support the faith. This led to a series of laws to prevent false doctrine prevent the teaching of alternate religion and licensing what could be published. That the history of Western Europe involved the expulsion of the Jews and Muslims from Spain. Also by England and Jews were only allowed back when Oliver Cromwell became protector. That the Church used torture as a means of investigation and was responsible for the killing of people for thought crimes. Laying into Islam is very much pot calling kettle black. With regard to secularism no one has to do much to expand it. The Catholic Church has been shooting itself in the foot by the sexual abuse scandal. The failure to protect victims, the failure to compensate them has done more to discredit the Church than any secularist could do

      Excellent response. The Catholic Church is the largest charitable organization in the world. It does more for education, health care and the poor than any other organization or country. Those who always demand that the Church "sell its riches" normally do virtually nothing themselves for the poor. Their real motivation is to see the Catholic Church disappear.
