studio vlog where I moved to the coast and paint a lot
Переглядів 30 тис.2 роки тому
Welcome to a couple of weeks in my life lately where I frolick about. I have had SO much to do the last few months. If you're from patreon you may recognize some clips here and there from the valentine vid :) anyway: I tend to make vlogs every so often when I want to save the memory of a specific time. I may not be living here long (new adventures to come...more on that someday) and so I'm trea...

(pls excuse the mere 1080p my poor aged computer was WHEEZING when I tried to export this in 4k) Hi good ppl!! this was the whole process for my piece 'Curiouser,' a Through the Looking Glass & What Alice Found There painting. It took me about an exact month to do the actual physical work, though the idea had been percolating for months. (Edit: Prints now sold out :')) Notes on the print releas...
mondays · 150 seconds of my art studio on a rainy evening

This is a video project I made for a Contemporary Art Forms class, with lots of help from Jake (vimeo.com/jakethiessen). We set up a tripod in my art studio and filmed two and a half minutes of the space one evening, adding a little extra magic in post production ♥ This is where I spend a lot of my time and where I've been making things for the past few months. This video is meant to be a momen...
OIL PAINTING TIMELAPSE ♥ "The Night Magician" ♥ Ruth Speer
Переглядів 88 тис.6 років тому
Updated opening date: Sept 7!! Before you ask, I really didn't mean to name all my art something with 'magic' in the title, it just happens. oops Also, the quality isn't as good as I'd like it to be as I only have my phone with me while I'm in England xxx I thought about editing out the parts where I was working on things that I would later change, but you know what, it's important to show the ...

a slow and meandering two day vlog of mostly green fields and trees and Christine and I cooking dinner. If you've seen the 2005 Pride & Prejudice, you know the Temple of Apollo at Stourhead is where the first proposal scene was filmed...we swooned, we took pictures, we crashed a nice couple's picnic ♥ I didn't film much this week as Christine was about to leave, so that's why there are only two...
BATH ART VLOG ♥ Windsor, London & Museums ♥ Ruth Speer
Переглядів 24 тис.6 років тому
We wandered around Windsor and London and got some work done!! If you don't know who I am or what these vlogs are about, it's okay because I'm not sure either. I'm spending the summer in England painting for a show in August, and I want to remember every minute, so maybe that helps explain. xxx p.s. storytime, we didn't even mean to walk by buckingham palace but on our way to the Tate Britain w...

I ADORE your ideas. Your art is seriously incredible! I cannot help to think how further your art will be if you only implemented soft edges and expressive brushtrokes in certain areas. (Both of these, are achieved by softly placing painting onto the canvas) I see a little bit of me in you in the way you paint, meticulous and thoughtfull. Eitherway, I really love your paintings and the way you made the video. Just, cheff kiss.

About FEET: most artists think about a foot being from the chinny chin chin to the pointy point of the pointy head, but it's easier to use your forearm. EVERYONE: try this at home. Measure your forearm from the wrist to the elbow, then measure your foot from the heel to the longest toe, whichever that is. You'll see it's close enough. Easiest way to make sure all the bits are proportional. See Leonardo's Vitruvian Man for the proofs.

Amazing painting and concept I love it it’s so beautiful.…Can I ask when drawing on your canvas or board do you use a projector to get it precise or not I find it’s not so much a problem when I draw in my book but when I have to enlarge something that’s when I run into problems. I know you can use a grid method but I really don’t like drawing grids if I can help it ? Any advice on that please thanks in advance 🙏💕
