Hi!! As a Korean, yes Korean society as a whole has way TOO many issues that need to be addressed and fixed. The work environment in Asia like Japan and China are really similar to Korea too and I feel so sorry for the people suffering over there : - ( I want to work in the K-Pop entertainment industry one day and will be looking for an American freelancer company that works with Korea!! Like, I always say!! Korea has great inventions and ideas that make living way more convenient but the society and the way Korean people think can be very toxic, exhausting, draining, and incredibly abusive and rude. Even, as a Korean I have been treated badly by other Koreans and was bullied by Korean people in school. I want to say that I have met far more worse Koreans than good ones mainly because they get way too defensive and disrespectful if they don't like or agree with your opinion. Also, something people may know or may not is that for some very sad reason, Koreans are evil online when they get defensive T ^ T the way they write the most stupidest and rudest things I have read so far in my life. They basically wanna kill you with their words ; - ( and to the Koreans who said I don't deserve to be Korean : - ) U make ALL Koreans look bad with your awful attitude x D to those who want to be an English teacher in Korea PLZ think it through!! Discrimination and just illegal practices are SO common because proper work laws are not taken seriously enough. And, housing can be bad too. I hope one day Koreans realize that no one is trying to bash Korea, we're sharing honesty and integrity and want to better a country full of SO much potential but so much downfall due to toxic and unachievable societal standards!! Thanks for your video!!

Yeah my korean cultures are quite purpose oriented culture, especially the kinda Hagwon academy is it. This may be competitively organization first culture. I'd like to recommend you to contact beauty commercial companies that are trying to expand Anerican market these days, and ask cooperation works in between both countries. Your Korean living culture experience would be pretty helpful eachother. :D

I am Korean but we all have to be honest and ask why does Korea have the lowest birth rate, highest suicide rate compared to other oced nations? They fail in many metrics as well... Does that seem like a happy place to live? It is a nation full of insecure people who are overly trying to out do others, compare each other and rank each other. It is a sad, lonely and miserable place where people are valued only for money and looks. Why I don't visit Korea anymore.

Do you think if you had a better job and maybe learn the language fluently would have made you stay longer? Or was the homesickness too much? And would you say that you got bored with living there?

As a Korean, I'd like to say sorry for your experience here. It must've been very tough for you to work for Korean Hakwons. I think even if you worked in a different field In South Korea, it wouldn't have been much different. Anyhow, Wherever you go, I hope you'll always be happy.

There are reasons why SK has the lowest birth rate and one of the highest suicide rates even under teacher! The president now lifted up the working hours even knowing that women don’t have enough power and time to have a child under this circumstances (and more reasons), the school system looks more than a pre working place and so on…you tried it, congrats for that, these experiences will help you in the future-positive or negative-so be proud of you and maybe you can make sometimes your vacation in SK!

I am chinese but grewup in Canada. I know a lot westerner miss understood asian work culture and society in general. Every time a hear a westerner friends say they admire so much Japanese or Korean work ethic and they want to do internships there… especially girls: i shake my head! 😅 Gender equity, be open minded and diversity acception are westerns concepts. When come to work place , the respect are only in one way. I can definitely understand it was a culture choc.

I know about the work environment in SK but it was actually nice to hear it from you as a foreigner living in SK. I would love to go to SK for the country and food and culture aspect but actually working there always made me second guess and you just basically confirmed it for me. Thanks for sharing your story with us 😊

It's a good story. Korea has lost a beautiful woman. Hagwon job is so exhausting that even Koreans can't endure it for long.

With that work culture and society nobody outside Korea and maybe Japan can sustained its for long you dont need to feels bad, there is a reason why they has the lowest birth rate and one of the highest suicide rate in the world, no hate.
