The 10mm eyepiece comes with the telescope already, but if you want to get one, look for any eyepiece that’s 1.25” as 1.25” is compatible with this specific telescope. So for example you can go to the Celestron store and search something like “Omni 6mm eyepiece - 1.25””. Any Omni eyepiece that’s 1.25” will work :) If you have something that’s 2” I’m pretty sure you’ll need an adapter for this specific telescope!

You can see a grinder with a metal cutting blade in the video so that’s my guess

@@TheDavidElson I cut it with a grinder and a metal cutting wheel. I put the pole on the ground, held it with my foot and made my cut. If your not very experienced with a grinder with a metal cutting wheel definitely put it in a vice

On the collimator box it says "next generation laser collimator" and a sticker on the box that says "F9123A" I ordered it off Amazon I'll try and find the Link

1 was made by Dodge which they used as a pace car. Which is not in a Dodge museum. The movie company made a few. The one in the video was made recently. The body sits on a Porsche

In my opinion for the price I felt I was better off going with the DX130 because it has a much larger mirror and can handle higher magnification. At that still see the entire moon at higher magnifications.

@@briand5866 it's all good, a telescope is better than no telescope. And you don't want to spend a lot of money on a hobby you may only use a few times anyway. But if you catch your self loving it and using it often just upgrade in a few years

Yeah unfortunately by the time I got to editing this video it was to late to change my phone camera orientation. If you watch this video with your phone vertical and hit the settings button and change the resolution to 1080p or higher the video is a little better. I appreciate the feedback tho and I may have to do an update on this tank soon cause it's still breathing

You are correct, I usually record these videos between midnight and 3am cause it's super calm most nights where I'm from at those hours. But looking through the actual eyepiece with your eyes I get very crisp images even on windy/overcast days. I'm super impressed with this DX130!

@@HobbyTimeWithChris I figured out the problem! The laser did not shoot straight and the springs to hold tension with the primary mirror to tilt it suck. Found another cost cutting initiative lol. Replaced them with fair bit better springs and hit a Cheshire eyepiece. Still can not get the mirrors completely aligned but I can get not too far off. Stars look really Good But not like the PERFECT pin pricks you want in your dreams. I swear I’ve tried everything with those knobs even went back to screwing with the secondary mirror screw. I’m starting to think that my focuser is not perfectly straight, Cheshire is not perfect as it is a bit of a cheap one, or I’m still missing something. Maybe all of the above or the first two.

@@danman6431 dang I thought you figured it out. Have you collimated your Lazer?! Some Lazers or most I'm assuming don't shoot perfectly straight from the factory. If your using the same Lazer as me I can make a video on how I collimated my Lazer to get the best mirror alignment possible

@@HobbyTimeWithChris I don’t really have the tools to collimate the laser mine is from Orion when I got the GSO made 12” dobsonian. I am on vacation now and when I get back im going to have to fix my finder scope because I jammed it on a door frame while carrying it out and now it won’t align. Tried screwing in the bracket more and twisting the nuts on the inside but I can’t get it to align. Slipped on something my brother left behind I’m just glad the primary mirror is still ok.

@@danman6431 ok well I have some ideas to colomate a Lazer with house hold items now thinking about it so Ill write this down and on the next rainy day I'll bust out my telescope and get it ready for fall and make a video for ya. And finder scopes and finder scope mounts can always be added so no fear I'm sure your telescope is fine. I ordered mine off Amazon and eBay but you can likely get a good one at your local powersports store/shop if you have one nearby

@@Mr_B0nz your fine bro, no hard feelings. i appreciate the feed back good or bad, and jokes are more then welcome even if they're 10ft over my head 🤣. but literally my only con with this dx130 is the mount, it wiggles when you breathe on it, but besides that i enjoy it a lot! cant wait for mosquito season to slow down so i can get back out there!

The washers are just for the bolt to spin on instead of ruining the finish on your new spools or swing arm paint. But honestly it doesn't matter if you use them or not. If your worried about scratches your safe if not you got spare washers for another project

This rapid fuze should work for that but id recommend Shoe Goo! I used to skateboard and I'd repair my shoes with shoe goo when my toes popped through in weeks and they held up better then then shoes themselves.

The spur gear came with the pro line transmission I bought 10+years ago. And it is plastic. I destroyed someone's 4x4 rustler so bad and felt bad so ordered a bunch of parts for it and gave him my rustler and parts box to fix his sooner. And forgot about it till just now 🤸

XJ220 came 10 years later

I don't use Starsense to record and stream, I use 2 phones. I have my phone mounted to the eyepiece and an old phone on wifi with the Starsense explorer app on the Starsense mount.

anytime bro, glad to help out! if you end up ordering this mount im using let me know if you like it. as far as use goes dont over tighten the mount to your eyepiece, get it just tight enough to keep your phone in place!
