I couldn't comment on your latest November 2020 video showing a female giving birth - it was amazing. I have 4 adult Shinis myself, and I'm pretty sure at least one is a female. I thought one was gravid, but I'm sort of doubting it now. I assume you keep the pair together most of the year, but do you separate the male from the female when she is about to give birth?

End the suspense. Please tell us if it was effective. Methodology, metrics etc. Might be worthwhile introducing stratiolaeleps s. in an ecofloor of a top bar hive. When the bees groom, or are forced to with a dusting of powdered sugar, varroa d. would fall to the floor litter to be eaten by stratiolaeleps and away from the bees.

Were these the result of the ones you showed mating in the "part 15 - mating" video? If so, how long was it between mating and the female giving birth? Very interesting set of videos you have of a unique lizard species.

Thankyou, it was a surprise for me too. I thought they both were male. Now that it had turned out that they are male and female it's quite exciting because the female isn't 2 years old yet. We will see the result in months....

No, I'm from Holland. I bought the oldest one from Siebren Kuperus and the youngest one from Michael Zollweg from shinis.de. They both participate in the European Studbook.

I bought them on August 1st 2011. The biggest animal was born on 31-11-2010 and the other one was born on 16-1-2011.
