Mclaren Sack Juan Pablo Montoya. Reaction! Sniffing Lewis Hamilton
Переглядів 109 тис.4 роки тому
Mclaren Sack Juan Pablo Montoya after taking out his own teammate Kimi Raikkonen at the previous race at the US GP in 2006. After it was revealed that Montoya had chose to drive for Nascar in 2007, Mclaren relieved him off his services with immediate effect.
Ferrari used to have a lot of great people. You can see how much Jean Todt was involved with him.
I agree with him on the old qualifying format (the *12 laps - 4 flying laps). Only reason they stopped it was advertising money. The session would build up and up, and you would get a chance to see all teams run. The last 15 minutes would be intense with top runners doing their fastest flying laps. It's artificial now.
For me, Montoya is a F1 GOAT.
Montoya didn't get sacked, he chose to leave McLaren and F1 because of the political landscape that he saw and disliked.
He was getting his butt handed to him by Kimi in 2005 and 2006. Doubt he would have left if he was the one challenging for the title in 2005.
What’s the song in the beginning ?
Schumacher didn’t like the NASCAR back then and I don’t blame him. Compared to F1 there was no greater challenge or joy on the limit. I remember in ROC he said the stockcar was fun to drive once he had a go in it. He was actually competitive in the one they used. NASCAR now is more appealing nowadays especially when they made that 24H Le Mans version. I’d still choose F1 as a driver.
Who the fuck asked?
@@drumnbasssakuga9352 You’re mom wanted me to reply so I did.
I feel like I'm always seeing Schumi talking down on other forms of racing
He might have been a great driver but he acted a total prick.
He didn't get sacked. He left.
He realised he wasn't quite good enough to live with the very best and his ego would never accept this reality. So he downgraded...
Montoya: leaves McLaren for NASCAR F1: MCLAREN SACKS MONTOYA
mcclaren acted treacherously against him!
Funny looking back on this knowing the events that took place after. Between Montoya winning the 500 again and having reasonable success in NASCAR, Hamilton's shocking move to Mercedes and then dominating F1, and Mclaren's downfall, it just seems so weird yet poetic in a way.
Clasic kimi response imfao
Montoya passed the torch to Lewis Hamilton. But Montoya was having a rough year in McLaren and their 2006 car let both Kimi and JPM down
lol. He got destroyed and could only claim favoritism.
He made the right decision. Just look at Alonso he has been trying to win for 12 years a win and almost 2 decades of winning championship. just hearing his interviews about not having a family a partner or kids or anything outside F1. Hamilton has his life outside of F1 which he gets criticized but look at Alonso being so toxic
Never liked him, too arrogant and too agressive. But yes he was quick.
JPM : 1x race win away from triple crown (Monaco, LeMans, Indy 500). Same as Alonso.
I think they should go with Hamilton.
Doing WHAT to Lewis Hamilton????
Raikkonen always was a twat. That's why he got his karma.
A WC that crytoya never got?
It seems that people who come from money don't get anything out of making more money. He did the best thing and chased what he enjoyed.
Was never given a good car and always had a 4 different crew chief......... NASCAR was useless......... They gave more money to bleeding tampon.Danica...........
JP always reminded me of Senna, in his passion and uncompromising style. A athlete and a talent with the spanish temperament.. Like Alonso.. doesn't always think before speaking. But my goodness what a driver, who could rival the best in better cars even. Edit* Added the first sentence.
Gary Paffet f1 champion
Actually in 2003 the championship was going his way until in the midseason FIA decided to change the tires width that shifted the pendulum towards Ferrari , a very strange move by FIA to say the least, that compromised the sport.
plus that unfair penalty in indianapolis!!
Short and clear from Kimi, as always.
Wrong decision to go to NASCAR. How can a driver change F1 for NASCAR? Completely no sense.
Love Kimi so dry so honest.
SIGMA male are cool ... Zero shit given.
I think is absurd to blame Montoya on that multiple accident in the first corner of the 2006 US grand prix. it was just an incident. And well the truth was that Montoya only chose to leave the team and F1 to return to the United States with his family. For some reason he did not receive any compensation when he broke up with McLaren... Ron Dennis did a terrible job with him, letting himself be carried away by what the tabloid press at that time said.
2:33 LOL classic Kimi 😂
I guess Kimi does not like Montoya in their time there they are both great riders but one is the iceman and one with a lot of emotions. Was not good to put their together on a team I guess
He did it his way.
The way montoya says it, seems like his family was a target for racism, f1 elites dont like brown people.
Why they didn’t have slick tyres those days?
Unpopular opinion. Ron Dennis was a terrible driver manager
Not unpopular opinion, he was lucky to have Senna & Prost without a british pilot. He always put down a pilot if his teanmate was british, except in Coulthard situation, but only because Hakkinen was much better. Mika beats Blundell and Coulthard. Do you remember when Mclaren car was too small for Nigel Mansel? . Lucky, Mansell walked out of that stupid situation. And lucky for Ron , he had the power of Mercedes and the skills of Mika. Ron is a glorified team owner, not a great manager .
@@sabataskull9661He won 17 championships and unlike Williams he found a way to keep his champions and not replace them. Hes probably the best
@@theiceman7590 Then.. why did Prost leaves to Ferrari?. Why did Senna leaves to Williams?. Why did Hamilton leaves to Mercedes? . Why did Ronny loses Mercedes motors?. Why did Mansour Ojeh fires Ronny?. The fact is that Ronny in his last years was a liability to Mclaren.
@@sabataskull9661 not because of Ron Dennis like your implying. McLaren would win well more than 1 race this year on merit if Ron was there
v10s are just the perfect fit
Everthing he is saying... is my childhood!!!
that 2005 McLaren is the most beautifully shaped modern F1 car IMO, 130 Kilos less than today, would like to see how the total downforce numbers compare to today. Power is more today no doubt, along with tons more torque and tire, that lightness though from back then...
It doesn't sound as a latino!
Unfortunately F1 is a totally libtarded organization that has the hubris to think it will save the planet.
I think every F1 fan who isn't stupid or 8 years old knows the V10s are faster. Seriously, no shit. . .wtf is the point??
He is right, except for the fact that V10 cars would run out of fuel in after 1/3 of the race. Efficiency is probably the most important point of the V6 hybrids. To be the fastest while being fuel efficient at the same time. Unfortunatly we don't live in a planet with unlimited oil, and V10s have hardly any road relevance now.
Lol who cares about efficiency in motorsports
@@limbeboy7 manufacturers do. They want the engines to have road relevance.
@@nixxxon18v10s would literally be more reliable now than the v6 hybrids because of less components and moving parts and better technology now. F1 is literally more expensive now than during the v10 era so wtf are u talking about
@@AAA310 V6 are extremely reliable as they are made to last several races unlike V10 that only lasted one single race lol. Very high revving of the V10 also mean less engine life (V6 much lower revving) I think it's you who don't know your stuff.
The power thing is big because, in quali, yes, the V6 would win. But they can't sustain that pace for more than a lap. They need to recharge.
Yeah now around 900hp without Electric power.185kg heavier now but I think more downforce now.
This car is just stunning
I always said that. Just watch when Alonso takes a cuple of laps with the Renault 2006 in Abu Dhabi before his F1 return... a V10 car with slicks.
Everyone who likes races would agrees with him
For everyone saying this is a 2006, V8 engined car: It's an mp4-20 (2005) with an mp4-21 (2006) livery. It's a V10 engined car.
He says nothing about V10s or V8s in the clip
