How to Style a Pompadour (thick wavy hair)
Переглядів 58 тис.3 роки тому
I forgot to say in the video, I always style on damp hair with OBs. I get fair better control than with dry hair. If I use OBs on dry hair the waves come out too much and it's a mess! Let me know if you liked the video and I'll make some more! Cheers.
This is exactly how i want my hair to be !
when you have that much thick hair how much do your haircuts cost?
Did he apply the pomade to kind of wet hair?
Awesome video man I have the same comb as you but I don't have the pick comb I got to get that. That pic comb definitely helped. Good video man your hair looks just like Elvis lol that's cool
Great ❤❤❤
Ugly hairdo.
Question, can you have this haircut but you have a large forehead. I have the right hair length and everything but the big forehead is very noticeable. Give me your thoughts.
Well done my man, you almost look like Johnny cash from the late 1950’s
Damn you are gorgeous!
Some monster hold cans say deluxe and some do not. Is there are difference?
Nice pomp.
Another suggestion that I might add which helps in addition to wet hair, is movie allowing the pomade to sit in your hair for 5-15 minutes and then combing it. It certainly depends on the pomade you're using, but I'm certain that this is the case with suavecito. I would suggest that once you put the pomade in your hair, you comb through it a few times to even it out, and then allow it to sit.
Hey man great review! I'm wondering if you would recommend this one or the dead sea clay to someone with a very thick, coarse and long hair ? my desired style is more of a textured/messy slicked back look, and not sure which one of these two products that would work best for my hair type and style, thanks in advance and cheers!
whens the next clip coming out ? miss your tutrials ! jim
Rad. Thank you sir
Def using this for the 50’s themed photoshoot me and my fiancé are doing next month!
Is it different than the old one? 2019 version?
Bro I want to make a slick back, which styling u would recommend me ? I stuck between : Uppercut monster hold , Reuzel and Morgan’s pomade. Which one will be the best ?
Absolutely fantastic hair👍 I’ve got thick wavy hair and I never thought it possible to get a nice pomp. I guess I need to let it grow a LOT longer. Thank you sir for this video! 👍👍greetings from 🇺🇸
Omg! Your hairstyle is really brutal!)) I'm user of this stuff. Fix is 10/10 ;)
Found this review after looking at the lockharts website subscribed 🤙
I've been waiting for a longer hair version of the Pompadour! Thank you!!
Are you in the UK? Where do you source your Pomades from? slickboys?. Ivor brews is he still making his stuff these days?
My boyfriend's hair lends itself perfectly to this style. It'll almost do that after a few hours of wearing a hard hat and it looks so good - especially with the grey bits, but on his day off, he looks like he peed on an electric fence. 😁 Anyways, if I can talk him into it, I'm gonna try this.
Love the video and thank you so much for checking everything out. Cheers!
My pleasure! Thank you so much for sending me the stuff. It really is top quality stuff.
Great Pomp as always !
Cheers mate!
Looking fantastic man, always a joy to watch!
Cheers Joost! ❤️🖤
Hey mate your back so happy to see new stuff:D
Cheers mate! ❤️🖤
Finally a new Video Mate!
I know! I didn't realise it had been so long! My son was born at the end of October so been very busy ❤️🖤
When do you apply he pomade? Did you apply in it in dry hair or damp/towel dry hair?
Always damp/towel dried hair 👍👍
Great Review Mate, would you say the scent is strong? if so.. does it dissipate? thanks
Cheers mate. It's not really strong and it does dissipate throughout the day. It's a very unique scent.
Brilliant video, great combination. With the Afro combs, where did you source yours from? Many thanks.
Thank you for the kind words! You can get these picks on eBay or Amazon. Search 'foldable metal afro pick' and it should come up. They're usually very cheap.
@@wildharegrooming3728 Many kind thanks. Will also be trying the Mupper Mash too. 👌
The final effect is just out of this world :D wow!!!
The best pomp I've seen
Thank you! ❤️🖤
I’m so glad I bought this .. it is a game changer .
This is great brotha. Cool hairstyle
Cheers mate! Appreciate the kind words 👍
Love this stuff too . Spot on on the build up
The build up is cleeeean
Great video. Keep it up!!!
Cheers mate!
Great review as always! May i ask, since you got a haircut before the review, how do you get that immediate volume with the pick? We have very identical hair but i can't overcome the weight of it. Should i ask my barber to use hair thinning scissors or sth?
Glad you enjoyed the review mate! I wouldn't advise asking your barber to use thinning scissors. These should only really be used to remove weight and/or add texture. There's no trick or technique to how I get the immediate volume. All I can say it make sure you use enough product and comb it through thoroughly. Also, make sure you are combing your hair in the direction it wants to go, working with the natural flow. Wavy hair (like I have) it naturally volumous and wants to stand up so if you work with that you make life a lot easier. Find your crown and which way your hair spirals and work with that not against it.
@@wildharegrooming3728 I ll follow your advice, cheers mate!
Brilliant Review...
Thank you Mario! I love the product. I'm definitely getting some more of your OB clay in my next German order.
Nice review man and beautiful hair 🤌🏽
Cheers mate!
Thank you this is so helpful
I'm happy to hear that!
I would kill for your hair. I can't grow mine past a certain length as it looks crap
Ah mate. What happens when you grow it past a certain length? What would you say is your hair type?
@@wildharegrooming3728 when I had it cut he said it isn't thick, there's just a lot of it. I find black and white pomade is good for my hair as it's quite oily
I keep trying different products thinking I will find the perfect one for my hair. All the clays just make it look dry. I may have to try this one next
@@djs83 yeah give it a go. There are loads of good OBs out there to try. You could try and OB clay if you find WB clays too dry.
@@wildharegrooming3728 I really need to stop trimming it
I absolutely love this tutorial. I do have a question though... Did you blow dry your hair backwards prior to applying the pomade? Or did you just towel dry? I, too have thick wavy hair and have been blow drying it backwards. However, I’m noticing that the longer it gets, the more difficult it is becoming to style it. I’m not sure if the blow drying has to do with that.
Glad you enjoyed the video mate! No blow dryer required here. I always apply to towel dryed hair. I find if I apply OB to dry hair I get no control as all my waves come out. Check out some of my other videos to see how I apply the pomade and subscribe to stay up to date with new videos 👍👍
@@wildharegrooming3728 - Excellent. I will certainly do that! You’ve been a huge help. Thank you so very much. What’s the best pomade you’ve ever used?
@@Kiley_88 it's impossible to pick just one because they all have different qualities and strengths. My top 4 UWB would be Black Ship, Grim Grease Medium, Ivors Brew Firm and SR Crystal Lake. OB is really tough to choose. I love OlliMade and Hillbilly Grease which are German ones. I love The Classics, Pomps Not Dead, Lockhart's, Reuzel Pink and Green... The list goes on! 😂🤣
You have been a huge help. Thank you so much!! You’re amazing, ‘sir.
Adam Szulc - (prononunced "shooltz") is the barber in Poznan, Poland. Here's interview with him - ua-cam.com/video/5TydC2HYHiE/v-deo.html. He's former straight edge punk, very old school guy.
How long was your hair in this video ?
The fringe would be down to my mouth
Which it best uppercut for long straight hair .
I've only used Monster Hold and their WB which is basically like a gel. How long is your hair?
I have been looking for a video on this new formula! It's funny you mentioned the problem with the pieces of wax in previous versions not melting all the way. One of my favorite products of flagship is their summer pomade gold edition, but the last 2 jars I received both had a bunch of wax crystals in them that make it almost unusable bc it looks like I have a bunch of sand in my hair. Hopefully they will figure it out soon
Hope you found the video useful! That is exactly why Wade changed the formula. The quality of the candelia wax he was getting was decreasing so he switched to bran wax. I love this new formula. Highly recommend it!
Do you have any other Ivors products? I find them remarkable
Yes mate I've tried a lot. I love tartan Paint, firm UWB and Adhair the best. And I've just got his beard balm.
@@wildharegrooming3728 Honestly some of the best products I've ever used, the scents especially are next level. Cheers.
