In the movie, Hikaru revealed that she knew Kyosuke likes Madoka all along. It is a little shocker as Hikaru in manga never found out until Manami told her. Here are the part 2 of the nice things that Kyosuke did that earned Madoka's love, from the OVA series. The OVA theme is a lot darker. All the scenes are about Kyosuke saving Madoka. He gets to show off his ESP. I ended up not including the scene from Message in Rouge (OVA 8) because it is not outstanding and not fit the theme of the other footages.

The character designer for the anime is Akemi Takada. She also designed the anime characters in Rumiko's Urusei Yatsura and Maison Ikkoku. That's why it looks familiar to you.
I'm gonna admit. The reason why I (and why my first younger sister hated this anime) is because we only reached Episode 2 and we thought Madoka was a biatch who refused to learn and change from her bad habits (such as smoking) but seeing that she quited smoking gave me hope.

I just stated re-Watching KOR… now I’m in my 40s, I think Hikaru is a straightforward girl. If KOR was a 2024 anime, Hikaru would probably have her own spin-off/ending. Hikaru was definitely prettier / mature in Shin KOR, but I do wish Hikaru had a good ending too.
In the Shin KOR movie, the role of Hikaru and Madoka has essentially reversed. You can tell just by the way they dress. Kyosuke met Hikaru on top of the stairs. They hang out. They even spent the night together. In the end, Hikaru even gave up sleeping with Kyosuke because of Madoka. In a way, you can think of the Shin Movie as an apology to Hikaru after what happened in Movie 1.
2:29 this is a crucial moment. Kasuga always shows his good intentions at the critical moment that change Ayukawa’s heart. There are many incidents Ayukawa wanted to step out, but somehow Kyosuke managed to keep her intact… my favourite love story!
