    Bro, can you explain what a 3D tracker camera is used for? because I see you're not using it for the dragon.

    • @BSPStudios
      @BSPStudios 17 днів тому

      As we have a moving shot, we need to use the camera tracker to make the dragon stick to one place. Otherwise our animation would look off as the dragon would be shifting in weird directions

    • @BSPStudios
      @BSPStudios 25 днів тому

      Some shots can be done with EEVEE but for VFX it's mostly not realistic enough. The metal material of the car for example will definitely not render in a realistic way

    That explosion in the opening tells me that someone still needs to have a course on composting and some Houdini to add some interactive CG for the dirt hits 😂 and for compositing Israel Nuke it Davinci Fusion (I start to really like the latter and that coming from a 16 year long Nuke user).

    • @BSPStudios
      @BSPStudios Місяць тому

      Sure, I still got a lot to learn, which is why this video is only about how to start learning VFX

    • @CallousCoder
      @CallousCoder Місяць тому

      @@BSPStudios you probably do not have a nuke license but natron is basically a nuke clone (nuke without 3D compositing). And of course Davinci Fusion is also a node based compositor. Node based compositors allow a far more organized (and reusable) way to composite shots compared to AE. AE is great for motion graphics but large composites really becomes a headache. And Nuke is the defacto standard compositor, so if you’d go into VFX professionally understanding node based compositors is a definite headache start. Good luck in your VFX quest! Coming form a former professional VFX artist (compositor, technical director)

    • @BSPStudios
      @BSPStudios Місяць тому

      Yeah, I see the advantages of Nuke and also definitely want to test it in the future. But for now I'm sticking with AE, as I don't fully agree that AE is only good for motion graphics

    • @CallousCoder
      @CallousCoder Місяць тому

      @@BSPStudios oh you can achieve pretty much anything compositing wise in AE as well. The problem is that soon you have many nested comps and then finding where something is can become challenging. And when you have a similar shot it’s hard to exchange the source footage. With nuke, natron Or Davinci you just point to the different footage and it all works. Which can increase your efficiency. Also using OpenEXR out of the box (perhaps AE by now supports that too, you used to need to have a plugin) and route the channels is really powerful and clean. But for small comps with few render layers AE does fine too.

    • @BSPStudios
      @BSPStudios Місяць тому

      I totally agree, if you have big comps with a lot of pre comps in it, everything can become really messy and hard to keep track of. OpenEXR has now native support though

    3:55 No, After Effects can't do what Nuke can. Not even close. Fusion and Nuke are way ahead, when it comes to compositing. AE is only really strong for motion graphics. The engine runs in 2.5D, while Fusion and Nuke use a 3D engine.

    Amazing video. The only video if you ask me that addresses the first and major problem for wannabe digital artists, where to start, there is houdini and nuke which is industry standard, there is zbrush, there is maya, there is redshift, now unreal is getting ahead, you watch so many cgi car chase videos made in so many softwares, and are confused what to learn. This video nails the coffin of confusion. BLENDER! the software has come so far, and you can learn everything there, animation, sculpting, cloth simulation, effects, liquids simulations, everything in one spot, then you can shift to softwares that are specifically designed for each process. You can then model and design characters in zbrush, add effects in houdini, animate models in blender/maya, render your scene in unreal then composite on nuke or fusion with real footage. But before ALL this, you learn each of these basics at one spot which is blender. Amazing work my man!

    OK normally I dont do this but this time I think I will give some advices without anyone asking 1. Camera movement: If the camera follow the hero but not 100% with him, It should be slower not faster. It like the camera couldnt keep up with the hero. Just look at Ironman clip at the start. Your version feel like the camera man know exactly where the Hero going to be by look at there first and the camera stop too suddently make it feel super scripted. 2. You dont need to make a 3D model and animate it for this kind of result. Just run a little and jump then land. The clip of you jump up and falling is enough movement to look like you moving while falling from afar. YOu could even puppet warp if you need more movement. But the landing is very important. Because you just jump a little so your landing look like you just snap to the ground. You need jump higher and actually land hard on the ground. 3. Try to move the camera after the jump If you can.
