Fishing the rocky mountains. I explore the rocky mountains of Colorado looking for great places to fish. Always hoping to catch that fish of a lifetime. I also prep for the unknown and help others see the need for preparedness.

Master canopy pop up Gazebo with netting review and breakdown. I bought this pop up gazebo for a 4 night camping trip. I was happy not having to deal with mosquitoes or flies while cooking and eating. It rain a little with some small hail and kept my supplies dry. I was happy to find out that it was almost as easy to break down the master canopy, than it was to set up. I will give it a 5 star r...

Yeah, I have been there a few times since I made this video. It's not consistently good, but I would go there again 😁👍

I never thought of pre-soaking the tape. I will try that.
Thanks for the comment, good luck with your project.
Man this is awesome I’ve been thinking about making something for my panels as well. Good job 👏🏻 those wheels tho probably taking a good 20% of your input 😂
Yeah the wheels are to big
Thank you .
happy camping 👍
Great design Grandpa Dave. This is probably the simplest solution I've seen for the 400w panels. Very nice. Thanks for making the video - starting on mine today.
Thanks for the comment and good luck with your project 👍
The little guy caught a nice one make sure you guys take lots of pictures 👍👍👍
Yes pictures were taken 💯👍
Nice catch little buddy
Thanks 👍

That'll make a nice meal.
It was catch and release waters. But yes it would have been a nice meal.
That is a big ole trout! Nice job dude! Where are you guys fishing? If I can ask, if not ignore that. It’s so beautiful! I wish I had beautiful places to fish close by me. I have to drive to Utah to fish somewhere beautiful. It’s the closest to me lol. :-)
Thanks we are in Colorado. There are a lot of great spots to fish, but it's rare to catch a rainbow over 20 inches.
@@grandpadave8953 yea that was an amazing trout! Oh you’re so lucky to be in CO. I live in Las Vegas, NV. I could fish at lake mead but it’s to damn hot right now so when I want to fish I either go to one of our local ponds or I drive 3-5 hours somewhere in Utah. Lots of beautiful places to fish in Utah. Anyway love to see yall fish and take the young one fishing! It’s so awesome we can record these awesome memories! Sending all my love and best wishes!!
@@takeadeepbreathin thanks for the well wishes, hope you find a nice fishing spot close to home 😁
Nice!
Thank you 😊
Let go of the pole and let him catch it
He is just making sure it doesn’t pull the rod from him. The kid caught it.
He is 3 and a half. First fishing trip and 3rd catch ever. I think he did an awesome job 💯
Why changing it, I didn't undertood your need?
I needed the vent to go through a wall instead of up through the roof
I always add a single barbless circle hook. I had a 28in rainbow trout fishing this same lure size 3 or 4
28 inches, that's a beast 💯👍
I don't know how to answer the question because it is one of those questions that answers itself eventually, and then the damage is done. The question should be where is the least expensive place to buy them. As far as which tank does or doesn't need a filter, that is also obvious and the pressure in both large and small tanks is the same depending on the temperature. The regulator is built into the Buddy Heater. PS: I have been running my Buddy Heater from October through most of May, 24/7 on 10 gallon tanks. I have not had a problem in 6 years. I do change my filters every year.
Thanks for the comment.👍
Seriously?? That fast? Nice
It was a good day 👍
Do you know how to change the filters in that microwave
Sorry I missed your comment, No I haven't changed them yet.
It’s a bad idea to cover the panels with the wheels.
Yeah I should get some smaller wheels thanks 👍
Great idea! I just got this panel and trying to figure out if it's alright to leave outside on a more permanent basis or I need to bring inside everyday. I know it's not ideal but trying to find out from people that may have tried it. Any thoughts?
@@benjiboodles I have left it outside for a couple of days. I bought a XT60 male to female extension so my power station was inside.
can it be vented to nthe outside
You should have a vent already in place. If you don't I recommend getting a ventless microwave.
Haven't seen any new content in a while. Hope all is well !
Thanks for the well wishes! It's been a long year and a half. I'm am finally able to spend more time fishing this year. So new content is coming soon 🎣🎣
I believe some people run into issues because when using a propane tank versus the 1 pound bottle, they forget to take the regulator off of the larger tank. The heater already has a regulator and using two regulators leads to over regulation. The filter shown in this video is actually screwing onto the regulator which is connected to the heater. This regulator cannot be removed. The 1 pound bottle is low pressure but the tanks are high-pressure. It’s that high-pressure that causes oils in some hoses to release and clog up the system. Mr. heater does sell a 10 foot hose that does not need a filter as it is made of different materials. Why they would sell any hose that would require a filter is very odd to me, but that’s what they do.
Well said! Thank you
One pound bottle same pressure as 20 pound tank? Different volume, same pressure?
you're supposed to work the rod tip down while you're reeling, not a straight retrive with the Dynamic Lure!
I figured that out after making this video. You are right! Thanks
Thank you, this is much more clearer than the instruction manual!
Thanks for commenting 👍

Great job on the work… but that music 🤯🤯 lol
Yeah I know I was there. Son's house and music 😵
Like a line to line snell knot
I'd say more like a Yucatan knot
What is this used for, is it just for connecting 2 lines together?
Yup, connecting 2 lines
Handy knot to know for sure, isnt it known by other names more commonly?
I wouldn't be suprised if it had several names.
8s there a recommendation on how many wrap arounds? At least minimum?
I like 5 to 6 , it holds up well
How does this work with newer furnaces that are expecting to see a bonded neutral wire? Floating neutral won't work on my furnace. Had to make a bonding plug (Neu + grnd bonded)
I'm not sure I can help, I live in an older house and I'm not familiar with that situation. Sorry
I'm not sure this video is clear enough. Their 10-ft hose Model # F273704 states "Specially designed material eliminates need for a fuel filter" per their website. Also there are tons of youtube videos of people running these heaters for years without them. It's the longer hoses you need to be concerned about.
When I bought the filter it stated on the package that it was recommended for use with a hose. It did not say unless using A B or C. I have since learned that if you use a hose from Mr. Heater a filter may be unnecessary. I'd say that Mr Heater was unclear. You are right though. Thanks for the comment
After everyone started talking about the fine grip knot (FG) I decided to do some tests on several common knots for braid to leader connections. The Albright and it's advanced form the Crazy Alberto consistently broke below line strength within a centimeter of the knot. Less so with a double uni knot but when it broke it was usually inside the knot. Wetting didn't seem to make a big difference. The FG was definitely the best as the line always broke well away from the knot. Unfortunately a lot of people have difficulty tying it properly since it does require a little bit more dexterity and you need tension on the main line. That said in combination with a Bimini loop the Albright knot is very strong.
Did you test the Yucatan or blood knots? These are the ones I use the most.
Used mine for 9 yrs no filter no dirt in lines only oil filters don't fix that. Last time i ran filter had the oil issues 5 times in a month stoped using them no issues for 5 yrs . Then oil but I don't exactly burn my fuel out when not using heater just turn off 😂i use them every day in winter i only want to prime when out if gas ime contractor lazy. This year trying filter again see if they got better might be trashing 40 bucks again😂 1 day in of use now. See if i get oul issue back😂
Ps the big buddy has a fast connection hose you can not add a filter to that so them saying you need a filter ime calling bs if it truly needs on they would need to remove that feature is been there for yrs it's on my old dog ime calling it a money grab like using a buddy hose at 44 bucks instead of one that costs 25 I've seen no difference for yrs I own both types. Don't forget they say use a new filter every year suckers. 😂 Yes ime testing times 3 on filters but ime betting I will have to tear down 3 heaters to drain oil because of it that's 3 days of repairs hope there better and ime wrong ime lazy after working every day. As a contractor
Good info thanks 👍
I did this a few years ago in anticipation of an ice storm. Got everything ready and within an hour power went out. Had my car outside idling and ran my furnace, tv, and couple of lights for 16 hrs no problem. Way better than a noisy gas generator that needs fuel every couple of hours. I used less than 1/2 tank of gas idling overnight and into the next day. More efficient and quiet.
Awesome story, it's supposed to be below zero for the next 3 days. My tank is full, in ready 👍
thats why i let it dry first never had this prob but, i work for me only so i dont care about the speed.
Doing it right! 👍
Why is that when using my buddy heater that the filter gets hot while it's on and off. I turned the tank off and purged all gases out of the hose. Filter when back to room temperature. The connection at the propane tank is ice cold. And the hose is not swelling or any signs of leaks after using the soap suds method. After turning the heater on for about 2 minutes or more of runtime the filter is warm then after 4 - 5 minutes it's hot. The filter is brand new. Is that normal for the filter to get hot?
I'm using my buddy heater right now ( in the garage) the filter is cold, I've never noticed it to be hot.
Thank you Grandpa for this video. The power company jacked my bill up to around $200 this year. I've lived here 10 years and it's never been over $110. I have resorted to using a radiator heater, but it doesn't quite cut the mustard when the temp falls below 25°. The Mr Buddy makes it a perfect 65 to 70° I've never used a Mr Buddy, but I am flying through the 1 lb tanks. Thanks again for this video.
Awesome, I'm using my buddy heater as I type.
If you use the my buddy hose 10 ft with quick connect you do not need to use the my buddy hoes does not leech plastic
Thanks for the info👍
I don’t know much about fishing. But is there a practical use for that style of knot? Why use that over a basic one?
It's about lure action. A standard fishing knot pinches the lure in one position. A loop knot let's the lure take the action it was designed for, because it can move in the loop.
Dizzy camera
Yeah, sorry about that😳
I have used a 15 lb tank with a buddy heater for 8 years without a filter inside my house. About 3 years ago the heater stopped working, the pilot light tube was clogged with oil. Took the heater apart (pain in the ass to do and it is made with brittle plastic) found the tube to the pilot and blew out the oil. Reassembled the tube and tested for leaks. Heater back in operation, though with some broken plastic.
Thanks, good to know. I've been using my portable buddy for 3 years, with a filter. I hope to report that I've had no problems after 8 years. Thanks
After I refill my 1 pound tank from the 20 pound tank do I need a filter for that On my 1 pound tank
No, the portable buddy is designed for a 1 pound tank.
@@grandpadave8953 Yes, but after I refilled the tank from a 20 pound tank I take my 1 pound tank and refill it from the 20 pound tank do I need a filter than two it’s the same fuel just in the small tank because it’s been refilled if you need a filter for that fuel, should you not have the filter on the 1 pound tank after it’s been refilled
@@thebuddha4208 according to the manufacturer "Mr. Heater" you only need a filter if you're running a line from a big tank to the unit. Of course they have hoses that are safe to run from a large tank to the portable buddy without a filter. So it's not the fuel it's the hose. I found this out after buying the hose suggested to me buy Amazon.
@@grandpadave8953 So I’m using a hose to refill my tank so when I used a little tank will the stuff from the hose get into the tank and then get into the system
@@thebuddha4208 I never really considered that but it makes sense. I would contact someone at Mr heater or use a filter to be safe.
