    I know this is an older video, but It's getting very old seeing people cutting springs. This is not the right way to reduce pressure. All it does is reduces the travel of the trigger (which can and often is dangerous) and makes it stiffer when fully collapsed. Getting a proper length spring that is wound to a lighter tensile strength is the best and safest way.

    My first gun as a boy was a Savage 24 in 30-30 over 20 gauge. My dad traded it in to get me a Marlin 30-30 lever gun, which I still have. I have been looking to get another Savage 24 so if you ever decide to sell the 30-30 over 20 gauge, please let me know. Thank you.

    I have a Henry AR7. It has been a great little carbine. I carried it in my Jeep for several years and on float Kayak river trips. I think my youngest son has it now to kill coons, skunks and snakes that get in the Hen House. I had the Charter Arms pistol back in the day. Like you said it was a stove pipe machine.

  • @user-ci2mn1oy3w
    @user-ci2mn1oy3w Місяць тому

    The AR-7 is, and always has been, a vastly overpriced, pot-metal pos. They cant even be bothered to put a real rear sight on it or put the rear sight on the barrel. When the threads get lose, the LEAST bit, the barrel and receiver will not be pointing in the same direction. For the same money, you can get a CMMG 22lr conversion unit for a shorty, $500 AR-15 in 223 and you'll have 10x the capability of the AR-7 The AR7 doesn't handle like ANY other rifle ,so practicing with it is NOT training for your fighting rifle and having ONLY a (noisy) 22lr is a bad idea . Nobody in the lower 48 states HAS to hunt for food and if you did, for the same weight, you could have some big game snares, monofiliament gillnet, trotlines and some small conibear steel traps, which would be MUCH more likely to feed you than the AR-7! If it's shtf, you defnitely need night sights, silencer, and more power, range and penetraiton than any 22lr can offer and a lot more durability and reliability than the AR-7 has. Save your money and dont buy this thing!

    I have seen, in person, a 22 rifle kill a 6 point whitetail buck, and a 1500 pound angus bull, One shot dead. As a secondary point there was no meat damage from the kill shot. My first choice in a SHTF gun is a 22 rifle, second would be a 44 mag handgun.

  • @WhitechapelFL66
    @WhitechapelFL66 2 місяці тому

    I have the same problem with the bolt. My bolt release lever is warn out and I'm waiting for a new spring and lever to see if that is the culprit. If not I'm buying a new gun. Had it for 12 years so not worried about putting that rifle away to collect dust lol

  • @OGbqze
    @OGbqze 2 місяці тому

    For me, it would be a single shot 20ga. Reloading the shells would be more economical than a 12ga, but still has enough power to drop anything in North America. Also, a single shot 20ga has almost ZERO points of failure. Plus choosing a shotgun, you can not only take any size game, you can also take game in the air which you can't do with any other firearm. If SHTF, I wouldn't be worried about dragging thousands of rounds through the woods, but more of what would be the most versatile meat getter. Shotguns are just too versatile to pass up. AR is an amazing choice tho.

    Best thing to remember is that a rifle is a tool. Best to have options in order to have the best tool for the job. You’re right about the AK as well. Even with lvl 4 plates people are known to have heart attacks and organ damage when hit by 7.62..
