Finally made some significant suspension change and the car feels a lot better at East now. Def should've been a 2:03 if I didn't make the mistake at T10 (the very lap before this I also got a 2:04 with the exact same mistake here lol). The cones at T11 also costed ~0.5s according to aim's data. But all in all, I finally start feeling this track now and we'll get that 2:03 next time, if not bet...

Was trying to see if I could turn in a bit earlier and carry more speed through T10 @ Sonoma. My 10Hz GPS shows 90mph onto the grass and 70mph out of it. It ended happily in laughters but we both almost shit our pants then. Don't be like me lol.

Where do you get the shift light from?
It’s apex track coach which indicates your “available grip level”. It’s not for shifting. I can use the Solo 2 DL for shifting lights if I want to.

Great lap! I have my right tires outside the candy strips going into corkscrew and I don’t go as far left on the exist. Not sure which is quicker
I think going far left on the exit is okay cause you don't need to go all the way to the right entering T9 anyway. I had a faster laptime later on with that car, but it's irrelevant now. I think with the new pavement and my ND2 I can do a 1:42-43. We'll see, hopefully soon.

I hope you realize the mistake you made was shifting in the middle of the Carousel (Turn 6). All shifting (up or down) should be done in a straight line. You really need to commit to the gear that you're in while executing a turn. Otherwise you're likely to upset the car.... as seen here. To put a finer point on it; the situation was exasperated by the fact that you shifted right in the middle of the compression zone in the turn. Coming out of that compression zone your suspension is going to be unweighted; causing decreased grip. Throw in the unsettling input of upshifting at the same time and the car was completely out of shape (you lost the back end and were unable to catch it). Glad you got away with it unscathed. Like any mistake (that we all make) the important part is to learn from it

@@RacerCurtis Apologies, missed it. This is a VERY good time with those mods imo faster than Randy Pobst in a Nismo 370z, about the same as a GT500, pretty badass for a stock ND1 with a tune. $5000 dollars of suspension work or no.
@@Flying_fisher Thx for the compliment! GT500? Which GT500 can only do 1:46 😂. I do believe my ND1 is the fastest stock power no aero Miata here in the west coast. But really it's just my daily driver. Actual race car videos coming soon 😉
@@RacerCurtis honestly I was just looking up times. GT350 was in the 1:35 range but the GT500 on the board was in the 1:40s haha either way, Randy only got the ND2 around in 1:50 but the stock suspension on these cars is criminally soft, especially the rear.

@@RacerCurtis for what it's worth, on the 86 side, stability control still kicks in, but doesn't turn back on completely, if you're in a spin or you lift a wheel. there's ways to fully defeat this on the 86 and im sure there is on the Miata too.
