Loot Studios Christmas gingerbread ornament
So these are from Loot studios December 2024 release. These printed extremely easily and were fairly easy to paint. Now I know I didn’t say it in the video, but these are not actual cookies, these are 3d prints. I hope Loot decides to put these out as an annual release with different figures and poses. That would be awesome. Thanks for watching. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

This was a fun project and I am so happy with how it turned out. After I finished this, I posted a couple pics of it on Loots discord channel. Shortly after that, someone from Loots social media group reached out and asked if they could feature my pics on the socials. To me, this is a massive deal and it makes me extremely proud of my work that others are willing to share what I’ve done. Cant t...

I’ve been working on this project for several weeks. And even though I have said in the past, that I won’t do these types of progress videos anymore, this one is too big not to. So as I get things done I’ll drop a video on how it’s coming. I expect this build will take 4-6 months to complete. I keep adding more and more stuff to it so it keeps getting bigger and bigger. Thanks for watching and ...
My 3d resin printing process

This is a kind of quick attempt of showing how i print something. If you are new to printing i hope this helps you out some. Keep in mind I dont not address safety procedures at all in most of my videos because I am a disabled veteran with fairly severe health issues already, so my concerns are far less than most people that print. That being said you need to do what ever you need to keep yours...

Wicked Studios Hulk small and large versions
It's the little things that add up and make everything better.
Im a first time builder, is it worth tapering the strips in order to not have to fill small pieces, i understand it's more difficult but is it worth the extra math
It is entirely up to how much work and effort you want to put into it. The problem with that is when you get to any curve(which is almost all of it), you will have to be extremely precise. Cutting and shaping such small and thin pieces is not as easy as it seems. I would suggest just doing the planking how you want and see how it goes. If you can taper everything and get a nice look, great. If not, get it as close as you can and fill the gaps.
never store your brushes upright
Please, sir, I just subscribe to you. I would’ve done it sooner if I had found you, sooner. Did you upscale this miniature or is that the standard size? And that piece that you showed us to cover up the extra hit is that also standard or something you made or handmade? I have a sub subscription to loot Studios and I have this miniature files.. but I’m kind of new to printing in a little bit out of my depth. I could use some advice and help.. I look forward to your next video. Thank you.
@@timsoyer3840 there are 2 versions that you get from loot, 32mm and 75mm. I printed the 75mm. The little piece comes in the files and just gives you the option of making it with 5 heads or 6. What kind of printer are you printing on and I’ll see if I can give you some tips. The more you print the easier it will get. If a moron like myself can figure it out, anyone can. So I have faith you will do just fine!
@ I have been trying to get my hands on a really good Teamat miniature. WizKid makes a really good one, but I got admit it’s close to $500 and I can’t afford it.. I got a really good one from Etsy, but I’m not 100% satisfied with it. It’s big enough and looks close to right.. but a couple of heads just a little too different. I saw another one on Etsy that looks really great, but I can’t get it anywhere anywhere near or big enough.. when I saw this in my files from loot. I will look at it for a moment. Thought it looked great, but was frustrated when I saw the extra head. Shrugged my shoulders and looked at the rest of the bundle.. every once in a while, I look around on UA-cam for new miniatures coming out. I often watch the Gallant goblin for that.. and I look for what’s new on the 3-D printing front. Somewhere in between I stumbled across your video and decided to watch the CEO. Well let’s take a look at how that miniature looks in my mouth almost hit the floor when I saw you able to take that extra head off and put a patch on the back.. I then started looking up your other videos and subscribed. I’m very excited at the prospect of being able to have this manager in my collection. I think I already own the files.. my library will print them for me if I send them the files. I’ve been meaning to try this service and I think this will be the time to do it.. I’ll have to pay for it but it’ll be a lot cheaper than $500. That’s for sure.. I paint most of my own miniatures. But I’ll tell you what if the price is right on the printing of this miniature I might just pop for a professional job on this one.. I have been collecting the WizKid’s adult dragons. I have about five of them so far.. and I’ve been getting ready to pull the trigger on one of the ancient ones. It’s almost Christmas. If I’m really lucky one of my family might’ve even got me one.. I have a few dragons also from reaper. I just received recently, my kicks daughter six from reaper, which had a couple really good dragons in it.. I don’t really know how to send any pictures on this. But if you drop me a hello or my email, I’ll happily send some pictures of my collection.. if you’re at all interested. Either way, thanks for getting back to me.. and I eagerly look forward to hearing your next video. Have a great day, man.
This is from loot studios. I recognized it.. I own the files. But so far, I’ve not attempted to make this yet because I was put off by the extra hit.. can anyone please tell me that piece he’s using that if he wanted to get rid of the extra head is that standard or is that something he made? And is that the standard size for the miniature? God, I hope so.. please please can somebody help me? Please anyone can instruct me. I have a 3-D printer, but it doesn’t know where is near big enough to print this piece.. I can pay somebody to do it for me, but I need to know if this is the standard size the miniature comes in? And if that piece, the covers up the neck hole for the extra head is also standard. I don’t remember seeing that when I looked at the files.. I hope to hear from somebody soon thank you all for listening did he enlarge that from the standard file?
@@timsoyer3840 this is the 75mm version. You can do the 32 mm version as well which comes with the files. That extra piece is in the files as well. I didn’t realize what it was until after printing it. I would think the 32 mm would be printable on any printer. The 75 mm would have issues on any printer with less than a 10 inch build plate and a short z axis but that’s a guess on my part. I have a Jupiter and a Saturn 2 and printed all the 75 mm parts on both.

Geez … your hand really shows the scale!
It ridiculous! Had a print fail on one part last night so, now have another reprint and pushing back another day before I can finish printing.
I just got the new Anycubic M7 Max and I really want to be brave enough to print this. Initial prints have been good, if a bit warped on minis bases, when they stick to the build plate. Maybe once I get everything dialed in I'll feel better about expending the money, time, and effort on this dragon. Aside courage, there is the issue of, where the hell do you display something this size once it's done?? LOL
The more you print the more comfortable you will get with it. And yes I agree, figuring out where to put stuff is the biggest problem with making models lol.😂
They did an amazong job with izatal this month ! Keen to see finished i wanna print the 75mm
how much resin did it take to print?
@@darkvenom6666 it’s still printing. And I don’t tend to keep track of how much anything takes cuz that’s a lot of money I’m blowing through and if I don’t think about it, then it’s ok, lol!
Izatal 32 mm is about 2L 75mm id say would be upwoulds of 6-8L
Ross over at Fauxhammer mentioned it took 7-8 bottles of resin.
@ did he put out a video on it? If he did I’ll need to go check it out. He is where I get my printer info from. Love his channel.
@@NosterRex Tricky, it game up in a passing comment during his printer giveaway live stream last week. While talking about the M7 Max printer he mentioned this dragon was his test project for it and it took a LOT of resin.
That thing is massive. Have you sent a message about the peg hole missing in the model? I use hollow carbon fiber rods to help support the heavy wings. When I do the hollowing I place the drain holes on the body and wings so they match and run the rod into the body as deep as I can and then attach the wings. 2 part epoxy the hell out of the rod ends. if that isn't possible you can support the wings on the exterior with clear acrylic rods.
This is sick as hell, nice work
@@scralph thank you
That's Tiamat. Amazing work!
@@matheuscruz8981 thank you
Looking good, always the chance of a mishap. I use the bad parts for paint testing/ color schemes. Got to ask where is the model from?
I do the same. Got a box full of misprints lol. This is from LOOT STUDIOS, dec 24 release.
I got the files as well and I can´t wait to find some way to print it and paint it because... I don´t own an printer myself... it´s gonna be really expensive.
Depending on where you live, you can find a local hobby shop and see if anyone there prints. Sometimes folks will print if you buy the resin. Maybe a small fee depends on the person though. I think I’ve been printing for two weeks steady now and still have 4 more batches to go. 15 hours ish per batch so several more days to go.
What type of 3d printer do you use? It looks too detailed to be fdm, but I could be wrong of course.
@@Nurg1982 I have an elegoo Jupiter, and a Saturn 2 8k. But I am about to switch out my Saturn 2 for a Saturn 4 Ultra. I don’t own any fdm printers.

After gluing are you salting it? If so, why?
The salt granules help to keep the two parts from sliding all over the place when you squeeze it all together.

Is there an airstrip in that direction of your place? If so, those B-2s require a long descent profile if theyre keeping the AoA at minimum to avoid maintenance issues for the ground crew. Either way, be glad you can see that beautiful bird since seeing it means youre definitely safe from annihilation xD

How in the heck did that happen???

Great quality ,never seen someone use as many clamps for a frame
@@fartinbrundle5495 I can’t remember if I left the part in where I had put clamps on the clamps or not. It’s been a min since I did that build. Plus I sprinkled little tiny finger clamps all over it!
What’s the stuff you sprinkled on before clamping?
@@fartinbrundle5495 salt. It acts as friction which keeps the boards from sliding around during glue up.
Thanks for that tip,I appreciate it.
Hi mate great video and build, what glue do do you use to fix such large printed parts together ? Thanks
It’s called “stick fast” CA adhesive. The thick kind, which they have thin medium and thick. Personally any thick super glue will do the job I think. Thanks for the compliment and thanks for watching!
@@NosterRex thanks so much mate just started printing the at at and realised how big it is! Would hate for the parts to fix properly
@@joshuawarne986 just a heads up, you may want to dry fit parts first, and see how well you can paint them, like where you can reach with a brush. The first one I put together to quick and couldn’t paint the interior. But painted it all in the second one.

how many ml of resin you consume for 1 figure?
That’s extremely difficult to say because I print such a wide range of figures. Some are small and others are massive. The large demon I believe took close to a full bottle (1kg). Plus the printing process has a very large amount of supports which takes up a lot of resin.
I played this when it first dropped. I just haven't had a lot of free time to sit down and play.
@@quinnmehling9967 I have a love hate relationship with it. Love it, but hate the ridiculous amount of grinding in it.

That poor box looks like FedEx got a hold of it! I have the same chair in an XL size and have been super happy with it for work - I did opt for roller blade wheels and the upgraded arm rests. How are you liking it so far after 6 months?
I love it!! My old chair I could only sit in for about an hour before my back pain would become unbearable. I have worked all day several times since getting the new chair.
Is XL recommended for someone who weighs 180-190 lbs?
