This is a Channel with things involving outdoor warning sirens, and other things that are a bit random. I have another channel that I now use as my main called ThunderMasterMind. I still use this one from time to time, but for mostly everything else, my other channel is where you will find me the most, unless I am looking at siren stuff.
Old vs new Federal speaker driver
Comparison between the old 90s FS100W speaker vs the modern NEO driver from Federal Signal. Old on the left, new on the right. The difference is pretty audible.

Haha! You thought I'd never record a siren test, but I scammed you! Well after… forever I guess, I am finally posting my first ever siren recording. I wasn't even going to record at first, but last minute decided to. This test was caught while I was up with the tri-state crew hanging out for new years and it was quite a treat. I brought nothing but my DSLR with an inadequate lens, my iPhone for...

Small demo of all the functions I had programmed to my UltraVoice at the time of recording. This includes some basic signals as well as some voice files to demo that. Voice is a little distorted, which is due to bad calibration. The gain is too high.

SiraTone Chimes Test

Test of the chimes on the SiraTone. This time running at full power with drivers and horns. I'm using dual 200W drivers for a total of 400W drivers, so essentially double the power of a 1212 in one direction. It's decently loud in chimes, but it's way louder running actual warning signals. I was too scared to even try running a normal signal after blasting the neighborhood with chimes lol. Mayb...

@@enriqueleon2082 what?
I would want to see you do both siratones and the uv in all signals
I want a siratone controller but i can’t decide whether i want A Series or B series
FS likes to cheap out on stuff today.
well, this explains why the tdws modulators are so quiet.
I have two theories 1. smaller magnet = less noise 2. less space for diaphragm movement = less noise its prob both TBH
The new one is cleaner while the old one is kinda louder.
@@josephfrye7342 it’s actually not. The old one is so loud that the mic isn’t catching everything. The old one sounds miles better than the new one. The new one I can best describe sounding like a $5 Bluetooth speaker you’d find at a gas station. You can understand what you hear, but it doesn’t sound great.

A series
Better than my laptop speakers
Idk if I can see the video messing with the pitch
Is it legal to make these sirens go?
@@elioallen2386 it depends. I live in the middle of nowhere, so it’s not a big deal. If you live in the suburbs or a city, good luck.

Nuclear converted to coal? I thought they were supposed to be going the other way.
@@FM60260 nope. Zimmer was originally slated to be nuclear when it was being built, but due to many factors and complications in the construction process as well as public pressure, the plant converted to coal before it even began operations.

Sounds amazing
15:48 fellow DankPods watcher.
I know way more about repairing electronics than anything about mechanical bits, so seeing this thing in ruin seems like a far more fixable thing to me than some rotten mechanical siren and all the issues they can have. The electronics in this look so simple that it's probably possible to recreate the circuit board and replace or reuse components if the boards were somehow too far gone.
Guaranteed somebody would charge an arm and a leg for even a crusty broken old siren controller lol.
@@SockyNoob ehhhh. This one is effectively junk. Is it salvageable? Yeah, but it’s not exactly easy. Nearly every single wire in the control module and the amplifiers are corroding from the inside out and falling apart.
What drivers and horns are those?
Horns are University Sound Cobreflex IIB horns and the drivers are LEDequipped 200W vehicle speakers.
@@thunderbolt10031 nice
Amazing. Wonder how you even got ahold of one of these controllers.
God this looks like so much fun lol. Wonder if siren manufacturer workshops operate just like this. Just some people blasting away different tones in a test jig. Pretty hilarious results.
Battle Creek should watch this video lol.
May I use this in a compilation video? I think it's very interesting to hear a SiraTone actively getting it's pitch shifted this dramatically as it's sounding off. More people deserve to see this. I will link your video in my description.

(NOT POV!!!) Now I'm testing my white electronic siren I accidentally pressed this clip my neighbor:
The wind up is pretty much spot on, but the wail cycle sounds off. The wail cycle on the MC only goes down to 300 Hz whereas the wind up and wind down start and end at 200 Hz.
@@SirenArchives this does go down to 300Hz in wail, only difference is a firmware bug that causes the tones to drift too far out of alignment so it sounds wrong at that low point in the cycle
@@thunderbolt10031 Does this firmware bug affect _all_ Federal signal digital siren controllers produced to date? I've heard this tone drift on MC, MCP, and UV, most noticeably on custom programmed tones.

so what's the difference between this and a regular ultravoice controller?
This is a condensed version designed to run off smaller batteries and used indoors. It’s commonly interfaced with fire alarm systems. It uses mostly the same hardware as the full-size UVTD you’d find on a Modulator or DSA. I have this one configured to power an outdoor array.
