Scotland (Part 1)-Stirling Castle, Glenfinnan Viaduct, Mallaig Ferry, Old Man of Storr, Mealt Falls

We started our road trip through Scotland by first picking up our daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandsons from the Edinburgh Airport. We immediately headed out to Stirling Castle before settling in for the night in Glencoe. First thing in the morning, we headed out to the Glenfinnan Viaduct & Monument to see the Harry Potter train. This exact location and train was featured in multiple Harry Potter movies, most notably "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets". From there we headed to the Mallaig Ferry, which would take us over to the beautiful Isle of Skye area of Scotland, where we stayed in the quaint town of Portree. We started the next morning by hiking the Old Man of Storr trail. We ended the day at Kilt Rock & Mealt Falls. Be sure to stay tuned for Part 2 of our Scotland road trip!

Lago di Sorapis via Passo Tre Croci is a "must do" hike in the Dolomites. I would say this is a difficult hike, but well worth it!! The milky turquoise water surrounded by the jagged peaks is stunningly beautiful! Be sure to go early, as this hike gets very crowded. After a crazy drive with lots of hairpin turns, we finally arrived in Cortina d' Ampezzo. For the next week, we will be exploring this beautiful ski town, which was home to the 1956 Winter Olympics. First up, hiking the Tre Cime di Lavarado to see if this hike is as epic as people say. Hint: the hike did not disappoint!!

We hiked the largest meadow in South Tyrol, Italy, and it was amazing. Continuing our series of "Feel the Dolomites", we experienced the Alpe di Siusi and its' beautiful pastures of wildflowers. On the last night of our stay in Ortisei, we were lucky enough to enjoy a delightful wedding tradition in the area.

We spent a week in Flagstaff, Arizona, and we could not believe how many things there were to do! In this video, we show you our days spent in the Wupatki National Monument, Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument, and a day of hiking that did not go according to plan. Our down time was spent with visiting old friends and "catching up"!

We spent 4 days in Hurricane, Utah, trying out new, exciting adventures. We had a wonderful bike ride along the Virgin River Trail. Then, the next day, we tried out a new adventure; riding a Polaris RZR over the sand dunes and rocks in Sand Hollow Recreation Area. What a blast!! On our last day, we enjoyed a leisurely eBike ride through Zion National Park without the chaos of cars.

We drove by Valley of Fire State Park many times, but we never stopped to visit. Finally, on this road trip, we made reservations at the Atatl Campground and stayed 2 full days exploring this amazing State Park. It is definitely a "must see"!

We had an amazing one week stay in the Lake Shasta area of Northern California. We easily could have stayed 2-3 more days. There is so much to see and do in this area, including the Castle Crags Hike, Lassen National Park and the amazing Burney Falls.

After visiting London for a few days, we headed south to Southampton to catch our cruise ship to the British Isles. This was our first cruise! We had a great time stopping in about 8 different ports throughout England, Northern Ireland, Ireland and Scotland.

Three Strikes in Twin Falls

We had so many cool activities planned in Twin Falls, Idaho. Kayak to Shoshone Falls and Blue Heart Springs, watch base jumpers from the Perrine Bridge and last, but not least, Hot Springs. Unfortunately, our outings did not go as planned. We will definitely need to come back to Twin Falls.

We spent the day kayaking on Redfish Lake and enjoyed relaxing on the sand at the lake. The next day, we enjoyed our last hike in the Sawtooth Mountains. We hiked the Iron Creek Trailhead to Sawtooth Lake and enjoyed a leisurely lunch while taking in the amazing views.

Wow! Was this an amazing trail. We hiked Redfish Trailhead to Bench Lakes. There are 2 lakes on this trail and both are beautiful! We also decided to add some adventure on this hike and went off trail to find 2 additional unnamed lakes. It was a bit rugged off trail, but we had a great time trying to find the lakes. On our last day in Glacier National Park, we decided to drive over to the Two Medicine section of the park. What a pleasant surprise! Two Medicine Lake is surrounded by jagged-peaked mountains, and it was nice to enjoy the tranquility that this side of Glacier offers. We finally saw some animals as we took a leisurely walk around the Lake.
